Normally if you buy from Australian store they are $99
But with the chinese promotion it is free, not sure till when but it is open of the best security software outthere,

      Mcaffe is really bad.

      Trend Micro will work better for you.

      Nice bargain but i'm with Kaspersky atm.

    Why pay anyone Microsoft Security Essentials and Avira (Free Edition) are both free and very light and efficient and have been reviewed to be better than some of the paid antirvirus products out there

    Either way it's still a bargain if you like this product but I haven't paid for AV for atleast 6 years now and never had a virus yet

      I use them all the time but they are not comprehensive, if something is really goodfor free it is spybot(antimalware)

      MSE's a friggin' resource hog, over 100Mb memory usage is not unusual, even when it's passively scanning.

      Plus, it's not exactly feature packed. Pretty bare bones if you ask me, only worthwhile if you compliment it with a serious AV product like Eset, Trend, Kaspersky or AVG.

    someone posted about a month ago a free chinese kaspersky.. which i downloaded and installed and then hacked for english version. here is the link http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/34013

    i prefer kaspersky but trend is also a bargain at this great price of 'free'.
    i used to often recommend trend 'back in the day' as a cheap powerful virus protector.

    Trial the previous edition and found it to be very resource hungry. It left lots of footprints after being uninstalled. Now using IObit Security and various malware scanners which are all free and free from spyware. Have heard that MSE has had good reviews but am biased against Microsnot and wouldn't like to use their security products.
