I prefer the the 1st Gen Ampcore/Ampcore Turbo, which were braided outside.

  • These cables dont seem to be braided, will these be as durable as the braided blitzwolf cables?

    • +2

the pictures say you can tow a car with these ones..

      • They said the same about the old ones

      • The better ones will also jumpstart a car… at the same time!

    • Braided cables are a con, there is nothing wrong with proper durable PVC insulated cables.
The last 2 BlitzWolf braided cables i got have had the braiding pull out of the strain relief, they look like crap now.
Other older BlitzWolf and early model Anker cables still going strong without braiding.
In my opinion it looks nice, but is NOT durable.

    Still only usb2

    Ampcore turbo for usb3

  • Thanks for the post ;-)
Would you happen to know if they have a USB 3.1 Type C to Type C Gen2 cable? I've been looking for one that will work with Samsung T5 External SSD drive but from what I've read the Gen1 cables are half speed but can't seem to find any gen2 cables… Cheers!

Best I can do right now is this: https://www.banggood.com/BlitzWolf-Ampcore-Turbo-TC8-3A-Dura…

It's gen 1 which is 5Gb/PS, if you want better I would wait and see if they release a USB C to C Ampcore or even Ampcore turbo version as that would be your best bet.

They're not cheap but you can get gen2 on Amazon. Even in AmazonBasics brand which get rated well.

    • Thanks for the reply Upon and Xboxer, I'll check out Amazon as I did find the cable you mentioned below but being only 5GBps I'm not sure it will provide enough speed with the External SSD drive as the drive same with 2x cables one USB A to CypeC that I assume would be USB 3.0 but it's significantly slower than when using USB 3.1 Type-C cable that came with the drive.. I'm trying to find good quality high speed Type-C to Type-C cable (Gen2 I believe that is 10Gbps)… I could be wrong but so far after reading up a bit that's what I believe I might need…

Not sure when cables become so complicated, what happened to the good old straight through cables that worked as fast as the end points could go.. seems you need to match cables with endpoints but it's a little unclear it seems for the end user/common user…

I might also have access to a Thunderbolt 3 cable so I might wait for that and give it a try as I believe those should offer top quality (above that of USB3.1 TypeC Gen2)…. Time will tell… Thanks again for your details and time!

      • Yeah Thunderbolt 3 cables are the best but will still be expensive for a while. I think the technology is supposed to become open source later this year which will mean we will start to see it everywhere and the costs will come down!

    What's better about these?

  • So who's going to get blue/fluoro yellow coloured cables?

    • Believe me I was tempted!

    • +1

GF took one look and BAM, got X3 of the lime greens and red pre ordered.

Hope these new ones dont suck

I have never been so excited over a Cable :) BlitzWolf Make great Cables

  • Anker or bust

Thanks OP ordered the blue/fluro yellow one - reckon it would standout from the rest !!!

  • Can I use this to charge my Samsung S7 Edge? (Apologise for ignorance)

  • so do i have to worry about all my other ampcore cables blowing up my phone now?..

    • Nah this is just a new design. Probably slightly more durable or cheaper to produce.

  • Got one. Didn't realise it was USB 2 until I placed the order.

Edit: The original Samsung cable is also USB 2.0 (Its black not blue at the USB A end)

  • I know usb 3.0+ makes a difference on data transfers but does it also charge faster through the wall socket compared to usb 2.0?

    • +4

No. Just data transfer speed will be impacted.

      • Thanks mate

  • Compatible with the mate 10 pro?

    • Yes. Mate 10 is usb c.

      • Mate 10 is usb c but not all usb c cables are compatible. Many listings specifically mention the non compatibility and I have asked other ebay sellers and they have all come back with a no. So not sure.

        • Probably to do with it being a new phone and they just haven't actually tested it yet. There shouldn't be anything inherently special about the port in the Mate 10 that would make a cable such as this incompatible. The only thing that it would do is the usb c to display port capabilities that allow you to use the phone through a monitor/tv. If you can find an article that states otherwise I would be happy to read it as I couldn't find anything.

I reckon we need a 5A cable to achieve the Supercharging as per the original cable that comes with the phone. This is only 3A. Most are 2.4A

Have seen them on Ebay, like this one for $9 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Original-USB-Type-C-Data-Sync-Ch…

Hopefully they come down in price soon..

      • So the only difference is slow charging with no damage to the phone? Will get one that you linked. Thanks mate

      • Ahh needs 5amp. Makes sense now cheers!

  • Has anyone tried cutting off the braid on the old ones and seeing what they look like? Maybe it's the same cable lol

  • Cables arrived today. Havent used it yet but looks pretty good, quite solid and colours look niiice.

Comes in a half see thru plastic pouch now, not the usual squished white box
