Just Wanted to say WatchNerd is being very helpful finding me deals and giving me tips, a big THANKS to him… We have a great community here in OZB, and members like WatchNerd makes the experience even more pleasant.

Thanks Again WatchNerd, keep up the good work!

    • +7

I'm (usually) humble but as a matter of fact in Ozbargain history, it is I who was pivotal in the advent of the revelation of WatchNerd.

Without the events that transpired the standards on what essentially constitute a bargain timepiece would not have have ascended to what you see today. I imagine we'd most probably still be having the level of service equivalent to 28 Degrees call centre (owned by GE Money at the time, now Latitude Finance).

    • +3

And an excellent description write-up too!

  • +8

I've got a bunch of dolphins I'm in the process of weaponising.
I saw this deal and thought great, this is the watch for me.
I am so disappointed this Naviforce watch isn't waterproof.

    • +3

Makes it so difficult to synchronize your porpoises.

Try otters instead. They have naturally good sense of time.

  • This looks like it wears big!

    • Pop it on a nato and its actually very comfortable

    • I bought two of these on a whim last time around.
The design looked ok, but, yes that do wear big and a little bit dorky.
Gave them to my dad. That generations doesn't mind walking around with a wall clock on their wrists.
What I really want is the MacGyver watch I had as a kid…

Grabbed 2 colors :) Cheers OP!

  • +2

Nice big watch and a boss crown.
    Thanks WatchNerd.

    • +4

Superb value for the price of a large sandwich from OzBargain's consummate master of truly affordable watches.

      • +1

The biggest shortcoming is the lack of waterproofing :'(

        • Apparently the water resistance is 30M, aka 3ATM, which is certainly believable and normal for this price level. Fine for rain, forget swimming.

        • +1

          @PJC:
Also forget showers, and possibly handwashing… which are the scenarios that concern me.

The "jet" water has higher penetration than resting water.

        • @Kangal: Handwashing OK, just avoid immersion.

  • +3

Naviforce are good quality at their price point, but spend double this and you can get a much better looking watch. I had the Citizen original of this and got rid of it because it looks ungainly

The official aliexpress store is not necessarily the cheapest but it's a good way to see all the designs

    • Are you able to give some examples of nicer watches for $20ish?

      • +6

The Citizen Ecodrive the 9044 is based on has a solar collector inside the watch face. The look is distinctive… but not to my taste. Because it is the weird design, most watches will look better.

These are just what I bought, I would probably recommend just about any Naviforce (or Sinobi) you like the look of - steer clear of Curren and Skmei except for real cheapies.

Prices on Aliexpress fluctuate, so you always want to search by model number for the cheapest. The straps on all china watches are pretty much rubbish so buy a strap while you're there.

I paid $18US (free shipping) for my Sinobi which is a beautiful watch. I wear it as a dress watch.

I paid $18US (free shipping) for my 9066 in white on black which I wear on a nato strap. This is a big and thick watch.

I paid $12US (free shipping) for my 9061 which I wear on a plain black nato strap. This is much plainer than the 9066 but the quality is good.

  • +2

I got mine but it doesn't work. I emailed them and even tried to call them. No reply, totally being ignored. Good luck for those who bought it.

    • +5

These are generally considered pretty good for what you pay. Actually I'd go as far to say that I've read more positive reviews on this watch than any other in this price range.

It has been posted on Ozbargain quite a few times now with hardly any bad feedback, but I guess this might happen occasionally when buying $10.00 China Cheapos. Disappointing it wasn't resolved for you.

Obviously you used PayPal so did you lodge a dispute?

I'm guessing it's just a flat battery. Also make sure the crown is pushed in.

      • +3

It's not the value of the item; it's how the company value their customers! The fact that they are selling it so cheap, doesn't mean they don't need to honor their customer supports and returns and refunds policy! Sorry, it may work with many other people but not for me.

        • +4

I agree and never said otherwise, but you still haven't clarified if you used PayPal as a last resort, which is what it's there for.

  • +5

This 41mm China dress watch is interesting, it has a Seiko NH36A automatic movement & exhibition caseback -
    Cadisen 1020 Automatic $62.87 shipped

    • Do you know that this is just limited to that particular model? or other Cadisen automatic models?

      • +1

I really don't know much about this brand, the listing doesn't actually say it has a Seiko NH36A, so I guess there is no guarantee that it will come with it. I just noticed it was mentioned in one of the reviews.

Also backed up by HoustonReal, the king of Chinese watches on Watchuseek

    • +2

Thanks mate, I picked up the brown leather white dial Cadison 1020. Only ~$3.50 extra for expedited shipping.

      • +2

I can't be the only curious one, so please return with your review.

        • +1

I really have no idea what to look for with regards to the right movement. If it's close in quality to the Orient watch I've had for years then I would be a very happy camper.

        • +1

@Hayness: The caseback has a glass window. A couple of clear photos showing the movement's details would be appreciated with your review please.

        • +1

@PJC: Can do, will get back to you in a few weeks.

        • +1

@Hayness: Excellent. Best wishes to you.

        • +2

@PJC: Well that was quick, already arrived.

          Face

        • +1

@Hayness: Thank you! That seems to confirm the movement is Seiko NH36A and you have what I call an excellent dress watch automatic for the price. Very good value indeed. If you find the time to write one, your detailed review would be welcome and illuminating.

    • +1

I'm also intrigued by this watch. I love how it looks. Both of the color options.
Thinking I might post some Gearbest reviews and grab myself a fair few more GB Points, and then use the points for a good size discount. I wonder if the points get deducted, or if they never get deducted and can be reused for nice discounts on other purchases over and over (like on DressLilly)

      • Perhaps you meant to plus-vote this deal? You know you want to really. It may stop the goblins sticking hot pins into their WatchNerd doll while chanting DRENHCTAW.

        • Nah, one lonely plus-vote won't change the actions of the goblins. I'm not interested in the Naviforce deal. I'm talking about the Cadisen 1020 Automatic.

        • @mduncan2: Member Hayness bought one of those and we anticipate perusing his review and photos.

    • +2

My black Cadisen 1020 automatic arrived today. NH36A movement.
The missus said it is my valentines gift, lol.
Will be buying the other colour when it becomes available back in stock.

      • They are a good bargain. When you get a chance, please come back with your review of the watch.

  • Thanks Watchnerd - just purchased! Let's see how we go!
It says 7-45 days, how long do you reckon it takes generally?

    • +1

Mine took the best part of a month, makes for a nice surprise though.

      • Totally - first thing that came to my mind!

    • +1

      Those are business days.

Things from china generally take around 3-4 weeks in my experience (and I buy heaps of things on aliexpress).

Sometimes less, sometimes more. You could be lucky and get it in 2 weeks.

      • Sounds good, I'll be mindful of that going forward!

    • +2

Have come back to let the community know, the watch made a surprise appearance in my post box today - absolutely love it. Thanks Watchnerd!

  • +4

Keep it up mate, you are very helpful.

    • +1

      I know. Thanks!

  • How is the quality for $10? I know you expect basically nothing for that money, but do they feel like they're solidly built or look incredibly cheap?

    • +3

There are links to reviews in the description. I wouldn't post it if it was total junk.

      • +6

        In WatchNerd we trust!

    • +3

      They are solidly built

      for a 10-dollar watch.

  • +1

any deals on the megir ?

  • +3

Great post once again WN. Probably one of the most value driven watches out there even though it is a homage. I do envy those with wrists that can pull this off :)

    • +1

What sort of wrist do you need?

      • 7+ inch wrists I would say. I have 6 inch wrists and I can't even wear 40mm watches let alone 45mm.

  • +1

Dammit… Oh well, I'll add it to the collection. They are nice watches for the money. I've always found the movements in these reliable - which is really the primary thing at this price point for me.

    Recently picked up a 9118, 9110 and 9063. Added the 9062 to my order for 9044. I think that I have a problem…

    • +4

By the power vested in me it is my solemn duty to hereby absolve you of all blame and any residual guilt concerning the essential acquisition of several truly affordable stylish timepieces.

  • The picture and video shows "Water Resistant 30M"?

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought 2 watches. Looks like coupon is only redeemable once.

  • Mods hate me ^_^

  • +2

Thanks OP. Always love your watch threads.

My Dad has a couple of health problems and I hope a watch will cheer him up.

    • +2

Wow thank you, I hope your Dad likes the watch & gets better soon.

  • thought about it for a while was close to buying it then said no

    • +6

Thanks for sharing that with us :)

      • I like sharing my personal accomplishments.

      • -2

        tightarse lacks humorarse

        • Where was the joke?

        • i'm the joke because it's a dominance hierarchy, tightarse is on top

        • @defmay:
You like having a tightarse over you?

        • @Kangal: of course

    • You're still allowed to plus-vote. And if you buy the watch, I can grant absolution.

  • Thanks OP. Which colour combination is best?:)

    • I like black & white the best, but you should always buy what you like as you're the one who has to wear it.

      • +1

        Brown & Black…. don't turn back.

(ps, WatchNerd you are always on time with the deals)

    • +1

you should choose what you like not what someone else likes

    • Brown strap with chrome bezel.

  • +5

I bought this about 5-6 months ago and can confirm that it is a genuinely good watch for this price. I wear it to work every other day and it still looks and works well. Thanks Ozbargain.

    • +3

Me too. Can vouch for the quality of the watches. Would even consider replacing batteries myself when it eventually runs out. That much I like!

    • So you might plus-vote the deal?

  • +1

    Hi,

Thanks. I can’t decide. I want a more casual look. So. Brown strap with black dial or the brown with silver?

    • The one with the chrome (silver) bezel looks more balanced because the co;our is similar to the date area.

    • Perhaps you'll plus-vote the deal?

  • +1

I am a newbie to Zapals, signed up and bought the US$0.30c tweezers as the first purchase recently.

Saw this deal, and since already signed-up, am considering it. But would like to know if the free shipping included is a trackable one.

In the last tweezer deal, tracking info was provided in the email confirming shipment, but when I actually tried to track it, it returned invalid item. So I asked fellow OzBers the question here.

Before any replies, I discovered there is a Zapal StoreRep, so I asked her. She explained that the tweezer was sent without tracking (i.e the tracking number given cannot be used). For a US$0.30c item, it is more than fair to have no tracking. I only checked because this info was provided in the email (although now I know it is invalid info).

This begs the question: for items such as this watch, which comes with Free Shipping; can someone confirm if the shipping is a trackable one? Since this is a more expensive item, does Zapals actually provide proper tracking?

I have also asked the StoreRep, but while waiting on her to reply, perhaps someone who has already bought this can provide this info sooner.

    Thanks a lot.

TLDR Is the free shipping with this deal trackable? Thanks.

    • +2

      Hi bluesky,

Fair to assume that watch being purchased in order to prevent overstaying, parking? :)
One of your fellow melburnians may still be, otherwise, parked on chair/couch. I cheerfully choose to believe that game to be akin to a game called Mario Kart.
      That's possible, right?

In case the rep you contacted hasn't replied…
As you have discovered, stuff with free shipping often has a tracking number attached, but not really - not unless it gets properly activated.
Other than maybe for purpose of internal reference or in earliest stages of lodging with post office, number goes nowhere beyond and certainly not from a customer point of view.

That said, there does seem to be a threshold amount where some outfits will attach a working tracking number to even free-shipping / 'no-tracking', orders.
Possibly pretty low thresholds, depending on the seller, and maybe especially if you are a 1st time buyer.

You may have been lucky in getting a working tracking number on your watch (you would know by now, I'm sure), but it may also end up as a signature-required delivery as a result. That may or may not be convenient for you, especially in the context of something that could pretty happily be left to arrive in the normal mail and otherwise would.

Best of luck with those tweezers, btw. Deals for that brand used to appear regularly on OzBargain, several years ago. If you get a pair where the tips even touch and hence are useful for something, anything, count yourself lucky!

TLDR Parking and watches. Fallout game is probably just like Mario Kart and in no way dystopian. Tweezers are only useful if they don't indicate the time as being 2 minutes past 12. Only about three dozen people actually live in Adelaide. Most people in SA live further North and Mad Max style, so very good chance that this is OzB mod hamza23 being chased around his backyard, by an alpaca.
      :-)

      • +3

        Hey T,

Good guess but no … was supposed to be a gift for a non-watch wearer. The price is right, in case it won’t wrap around any wrist! :-)

Thanks for taking the time to explain the tracking aspects, that makes sense. Zapals StoreRep was great too … responded very quickly. Turns out free shipping here is non-tracking. And there is ‘registered with tracking’ for an additional cost. I breezed through the first sign-up purchase so fast - did not recall seeing them as options. As for tweezers, won't be too disappointed if it is non-functional - reason for starting with a 30c item.

Fallout game is probably just like Mario Kart and in no way dystopian

Wouldn’t know :-), haven’t gone near games since the time I could not stop and played across several days without sleep (impulse-control issues). Now, the closest I get to enjoying a game is its theme song, like this Super Mario Odyssey song which I think is quite good - thanks to sss333 post here. Video clip is here.

Chewpaca clip is too adorable … never seen them bounce around like this before. Almost looks like an animated clip when alpaca achieves that perfect bounce. Was really amused, and went looking for more clips. This bit is quite funny - alpaca eating apple. Enjoy and have a great day :-)

        • +2

G'day bluesky, and it will still be well and truly day there, living an hour in the future, daylight-saving wise, as you are. Quite the innovation, that.
          :-)

Just thought I'd reaffirm for you that most cheap free-shipping stuff does leave you in the lurch as far as tracking goes, but tracking/shipping does sometimes get upgraded out of the blue for items that are sometimes just a little bit more expensive, so figured that you might get lucky with your watch!

I played games quite a bit in heyday of arcade gaming, before first (and lousy) role-playing games out and started to supplant most of the really great machines. Sad at the time, but a good out as made very conscious decision to largely avoid video games from then on. That even as both home software and hardware on which to play became more and more compelling. Ultimately, incredibly so.

As is, play fun ones and only when required.
Mario Kart is indeed a bit of fun and a game through which overly ambitious munchkins learn the skills that will one day enable them to drive through the front of people's houses. With great ease.

I haven't gone looking for funny alpaca youtube videos, quite yet. I watched the whole seven minutes of the one you linked and can see why you skipped the time ahead a bit… :-)
I still choose to believe what I'm told - the spitting thing is pretty uncommon and more of a llama trait.

          Bonus instagram cute
Nature's cordless lawnmowers, bluesky. Not available at Bunnings.

Some good weather and blue skies in Melbourne forecast this week. Enjoy.

          :-)

P.S. If outlander is in a bunker, as long as he's practising a "croquembouche" so that he can go on Masterchef at some point to teach contestants, that's the main thing.

        • +2

@Dne: G'day T, … and great thing about Brisbane, everyday is good weather. In Melb, while blue skies, some days are hellish hot, like today.

Arcade gaming … yeap, drew you in and suck you dry … I still see a TimeZone near our shopping centre, but wonder who goes anymore. Can definitely see Mario Kart’s appeal… speed without consequences for the alter-ego. In real life, can count the number of times on fingertips have put car into sports mode. Only watch other people have fun (e.g. on Top Gear). Probably prudent though, like avoiding games. Fortunately, no such problems with booze. But coming close, with the binge-watching of tv series.

Nature's cordless lawnmowers, bluesky. Not available at Bunnings.

Hope they are not like a friend’s sheep – intended as nature’s lawnmover for huge backyard, but did not know when to stop and died from over-grazing. Probably poignant reminder to myself - to not overdo :-)

Thanks again for the free-shipping info, will keep in mind. Take care.

        • +2

@bluesky: Hi, bluesky. Don't start me on pet lamb stories (sad - you can ask Braidwood's premier bargainer about that one, but others a lot happier).

+Do be wary of bloody binge-watching trend. Your awareness has, nonetheless, very slightly eased my concerns for you re otherwise-impending maladies of Numb Bum and Bot Rot!

          :-)

        • +2

Maybe you guys should PM each other, haha.

        • +2

          @WatchNerd:
          Hey!

I'm pretty sure that every comment above contains a time reference.
          :S
          And here's another one…

When I was about five and maybe off the back of seeing a little nature doco on The Wonderful World of Disney, my sister and I decided that we really, really, really, wanted pet otters. Our parents very inconveniently informed us that that this was somehow "not feasible".

As turns out, that was, probably, just as well… Cute/Spawn of Satancombo.

Albeit with clean paws and presumably wrists in order to wear watches, (profanity)facewatchface.

          :P

        • +1

@Dne: That sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

          Also, GenerallyYou, settle.

That goes for some of the other perturbed poultry on this website…

          :)

Thanks Watchnerd. This is the second watch i have bought due to your recommendation. I like it!
