No sloppy enel00p jokes :(

I must be the only ozbargainer not allowed to say enel00p. At least i'm a title holder.

Q: Why did the Elephant Elephone cross the road?

Ans: To find out about the last sloppy enel00p joke

    • +1

      What's a enel00p

  • How is the quality of the phone and camera?

    • +1

Buyer beware - Elephone quality is not good. Had one and touch screen failed after 3 months. DYOR research as there are better phones for a little more money (Xiaomi for instance).

    • I've had the P8 mini for about a year. Screen is still working even through i cracked it, was working fine before that too, response to touch was good.
Camera has a bit of a lag and photos aren't as clear as my wife's samsung s6 but still produce a clear crispy shot, it's a pretty nifty phone for the money.
Note they advise you not to update the OS or it voids the warranty (if i recall correctly).

        Lolwut

        • From what I can see now, they now offer updates but it isn't as simple as just updating from the settings interface

        • @xerot:

          😑

    • I had an elephone about 4 years ago. It was very decent. The only downside (for a ~$100 phone) was the sluggish camera.

  • I hedged on a leagoo t5, similar sort of phone: 4/64gb and mediatek CPU,all Oz mobile 3g/4g bands except b28. I've been really impressed with how snappy and trouble free it has been (the usual caveats.. camera only ok and battery will have a comparatively limited lifespan). Leagoo must have really optimised the Android rom to get the best response though, as it really is nice and snappy. Previously I had a Xiaomi Redmi Note3-Kate, but stupidly went for the 2gb/16gb model. It was a world of difference going to the increased memory, can install apps with impunity and assists snappy response with the leagoo t5. I wonder which other brands are ticking the boxes at this pricepoint, so interested in reports on this elephone model.

  • Since when was 5.5" a 'phablet'?

    • +4

Ever since apple made the iPhone 4

    • I looked it up and 5.1" and larger is a phablet, which makes the term useless since every smartphone is now a so-called phablet.

    • Since it became a marketing term. Five years ago a 5.5" phone was pretty huge; now anything smaller than 5.5" is "designed for portability" or something.

Legit though, why can't you say eneloop? Like, this site has tonnes of jokers and honestly that side of the community is what I love the most*

    *Next to saving on eneloops.

Hey just to clarify on the matter regarding eneloop mentions in your posts, we'll need you to refrain from mentioning "Eneloop" as a joke in the description of deals completely as it's still triggering search alerts for those actually looking for Eneloop deals.

And yes we're still getting a few complaints…

      Damnit!!!

      • I get the point, I feel that.

        But it's funny.

      • +1

        Lol that's hilarious, great work!!

  • For the same price I think this one is better. Better dual cameras, better CPU, better built(imo). Software's probably not so great but I'm sure there will be custom firmwares for it.
