    • Oh God this is still in comments?

Where's a Samsung deal? Need to post some fire comments

    • +14

I suppose you can go buy it at Apple for $1829 then, or get it here for $1599?

      • +10

He clearly likes to spend MORE money I think.

        • +1

          Isn't that Clear? :)

        • +2

@ausdday: It's very clear. Dunno why you'd want to.

        • -1

          @Clear:

Just a thought. IF Ausluck follows ethical business rules, i.e. no markup price before giving out sales, you would be paying only $1463.20 ($1829 - 20%), instead of $1599.

        • +5

@ausdday: I'll let you in on a little secret. Businesses are out to make money and not constantly operate at a loss or break even.

        • @Clear:

All I am saying that the business practice doesn't make the bargain as good as it can be. And when people just keep supporting this kind of business, we will not be able to get a real good bargain.

FYI. Ausluck is selling the same phone at $1729 on their own website. That's $270 cheaper compared to their ebay listing.
          https://www.ausluck.com.au/apple-iphone-x-256gb-space-grey-u…

        • +3

@ausdday: And don't get hit eBay fees on their website.

        • +1

          @Clear:

And they have to pay wages, utilities and rent on ebay?

        • +1

@Clear: yes by lying about discounts and conning people they are getting a greater discount than they are. Should be reported to accc.

        • @wxyz234: Then report it. More people do it the more likely something happens.

        • +1

@Clear: Nah, lets just vote positive and let them get away with this dodgy business practice and be happy to spend more on a falsely advertised sale that isnt actually 20% off as promoted. Its not like we're consumers on a money saving bargain website or anything.

        • +2

          @Orpheus: I'm glad I have your approval.

    • +4

At least you'll be able to get it for below RRP after the 20% is taken off. Brings it down to $1599 (even lower with your preferred cashback provider).

    • $1999 20% off
      $1829 10% off
      Which one you prefer?

      • $1829 20% off.

  • +3

Yeah these guys always Jack the price.

      • +1

If you bothered to scroll down, they are selling at $1829 on Jan 3rd and Jan 5th. Surprise surprise.

        • +7

Today is Feb 6. Price was $1829 over 1 month ago. Not sure how you call that price jacking for this sale?

        • @tightarse:

I do not have the price between 5th to 19 Jan, but I am interested to know. As the first trading after 5th Jan, was 19th Jan, which coincide with PRAWN 20% discount, and suddenly they decided $2011 is a fair price to sell iPhone X 256GB.

    • But this price is still 'decent' for this phone… Ah I hate myself now

  • -6

Lackluster bargain. Also REMOVE TRS eligible. Most things are TRS eligible. And this phone isnt even under the $1000 treshold so you have to bring someone else and eat into their claim.

    • +6

      Lackluster bargain.

Oh that's right, you can find it cheaper lol (holding breath).

      • -5

        Nice strawman.

      • +4

Don't hold your breath TA, by the time that Orpheus manages to find it cheaper, the iPhone XXX will have come out already.

  • +4

Good price. I am happy for them to jack the list price if their discounted price is still the cheapest available - not sure why people care so much about this.

    • Because it's still a rip off.

    • +3

Exactly - why does it matter if they jacked the price up…I'm not getting lured in by X% discount, I'm getting lured in by the cheap final price. I don't care how much the discount is, only the sale price - and that's whats in the title.

      • It’s claiming it’s 20% off when it isn’t. Marking up prices and then claiming they’re providing a discount is dodgy.

        • +3

Like I said, I don't care what they're claiming because that's not why I clicked - I clicked because the price is cheap, not because of the discount percentage. Normally I'd agree with you wholeheartedly as I get annoyed by eBay markups, then 20% discount claims - but at the end of the day, mark up or not this is the cheapest price I've seen for a 256gb iX. No clickbait here IMHO.

        • Who cares to be honest…… did you buy one? I am happy with my iPhone X - wish I had of purchased it at this price!

  • +3

I envisage that by 2034 that iphones will be listed here for +$15,000 and the deals will be upvoted massively due to the iphone implants forcing us to do it.

ie. user upvotes deal, serotonin floods the brain.*

    • Still too expensive to me :) And the iPhone X screen is just too small.

      • iPhone X screen is same size as iPhone 8+, it just doesn't seem like it because no bevels. If that's too small for you, I'm curious what phone you're using, an iPad?

    • Thanks I got 2x500 egiftcard for 950 via cash rewards. received email in 3 hours with card numbers.
Then I purchased 4x100 via gift card plus 8000 points
Another 6x100 value card for 560
Used cashrewards website to go for eBay website with 1% cash back.
Used all the 10 cards plus present20 code.
      Paid remaining 599 via PayPal.

Waiting for bill so I can claim gstvia trs

Now waiting for order confirmation and pickup info

  • Don't waste your money on this piece of junk, the battery is crap and not much of a difference from Iphone 8. I had battery issues, where it would drain and not last the whole day on minimal usage. After Googling the issue, it is widespread and I returned it to Officeworks for a full refund. Bought this phone a month back at $1609 (after price beat) but it is still not worth it.

If you are keen go for Iphone 8 or wait till end of the year.

    • +2

I have the opposite experience - my battery life is fantastic - with minimal usage (not sure if our definitions of minimal are the same or not) my battery last 2 days. Sounds like you either had a faulty battery (unlikely), or had an app installed which was draining your battery (I had this issue with some Google apps - issue was resolved once I uninstalled them).

      • Minimal use like Safari, Music and that's about it. We did have background app refresh turned off and had it on low power mode, also even enabled Smart screen invert (which also helps to reduce battery consumption) . May be we got unlucky, either way I will wait for this year's model.

        • I am surprised you would buy the next model given you describe the X as a piece of junk. Apple do not change their phones that much model on model. If you think the X is a piece of junk then you will be disappointed by the next model too. Maybe give Android phones a try?

        • @pantsparty: I got a galaxy s5 for the time being it sucks so much. I am only disappointed with battery. As per the current rumors by EveBlass, the battery is going to be increased in size and feel that IOS will tweaked to improve battery. The old Iphones have been amazing , got my fingers crossed.

  • Holding out for iPhone XS XL Edition with 120hz display and toothbrush attachment.

    • let us wait for it

  • +3

    Thanks got 10

    • Does that make it iPhone 100?

  • If this is legit local stock, call up Office Works and they will beat it by 5%…

    • What items are excluded from the Officeworks Price Beat Guarantee?

Cashback and coupon offers (i.e. supplier cashback or reduced price available via paper coupon or electronic codeword)

  • Please clarify what AU stock means. Is it:
    a) Grey import and physically in stock in AU; or
    b) Sourced from official local distributor (AU model)?

  • iPhone X 256GB Silver from MobileCiti (AU Stock) is currently $1,598.40 with eBay code PRONTO
