Delonghi Nespresso Essenza $229 after $50 Cashback and Pay Less for Cash from Good Guys

70

Saw this offer on WA Good Guys catalogue and went to the store. Not sure if it's available else where.

Advertised for $279, but since i pay cash … they sold me for $268 and will get a cashback of $50. so $218 for the machine.
Not sure if that's the best price … but from what i can see at the moment it is.

Tried to go to Harvey Norman and they said Nope they are not going to beat the price… their lost then.

  • Do these things only use those pods, no ground coffee?

    • yeah no ground coffee from what i can see … well it's first one for me … so i am a newbee on this machine as well :)

    • Yeah need to use the Nespresso cups, but you can use the refillable pods. Check youtube. enough alternatives, but not as good as the original I reckon. And the refil caps may knock down your machine….

      • Ah, refillable pods definitely sounds like the go! I used to have a Senseo, which was all well and good til the backside dropped out of pod suppliers…you were always kinda limited in what pods you could get, but it just became too hard to get them. That made me wary of pod based systems! ;)

What?????? it is $150 cheaper in NSW ??? Even if you pay shipping it will be cheaper. I can't believe it is a national chain. Come on Good guys.

    • sachy, you are looking at a different model. The Essenza is different from the advertised Citiz.

  • Was going to pick up the DeLonghi Citiz And Milk Nespresso Machine today at the Maribyrnong store (VIC). $429 in catalogue, guy offered it to me for $419 so $369 after rebate. We compared the prices of the DeLonghi's to other retailers and the Good Guys beats them all.

We own another one of the Nespresso machines and they take capsules which cost around ~$1 each. Very easy to make and comparative to something you'd get at a Melbourne coffee shop (big call I know). We used to have the ones that took coffee grounds and had to manually make the foam but it was too much effort. Well worth it if you drink a good amount of coffee.

    • Sorry my mistake

    • Aren't those capsules like 76 cents or something?

      • The wife buys them but she said it's $.97 cents if you buy them in packets of 10. I think she buys them from the Nespreso store in the city.

    • I got my Citiz Milk for $400 from GG. Maybe try and get it down to that if you haven't already bought it. Thanks to an OzB post, I bought it during the JO pasta maker and iTunes promo, both of which I sold. Brought my machine down to $280 (after cashback). Bargain!

The Nespresso is now one of my most utilised kitchen appliance in our home. Super convenient, no mess and decent cuppa. Well worth the money.

      • Yeah, ohsnap, don't suppose you have a scanned receipt?

        • Sorry Neil, I don't. I sent it along with my claim for the cashback and it wasn't returned to me. I thought they would but I should have made a copy of it.

In any case, I got that price quite easily. He quoted me a price close to yours and I said I'd think about it. After a while he offered me $400. I don't think you'd have much trouble.

Thanks anyway ohsnap, I'll see what I can do.

The other method I was thinking was go to Myer, and get their 10% cashback deal. Buy $400 of giftcards, get $40 back. They are on sale for $450 at the moment. Myer also have a price match policy:

We will price match a recognised competitor for identical merchandise. Price match does not apply to online retailers or warehouse, ex-demo and refurbished products and where below our cost price. Price match cannot be used with other discounts and offers. See in store for more details.

          So matching the GG's $429 price -$40 = $389 -$50 cashback = $339

Plus you get Myer points. That's for the Citiz anyway. With the Essenza you get 698 Myer points as a bonus. I believe 1000 points gets you a $25 gift card.

  • Imho the Beville Cafe Roma for $159 is a better deal, makes great coffee with crema and great frothed milk. Have a look at the Choice reports.

    • I had one of the Beville's before and they no doubt make good coffees and is a good price. The issue becomes the cleaning, the having the ground coffee on hand, and the foaming of the milk. It gets to the point where you just can't be bothered to make one. The Nespresso on the other hand has an foamer where you just fill it up, press the button and walk away. Same with the pods. You just put them in, hit the button, walk away. The used capsules are stored in a bin attached to the unit.

  • I agree, I used to have a traditional coffee machine and now have a nespresso… i use it so much more 4 different people have bought one after seeing how easy i can whip up good quality coffee! btw the capsules from cost $0.68 for the normal range to each to $0.78 each for the special ranges… (They come in packs of 10) The online and over the phone customer service is second to none… I order mostly online and have never had an order take more that 2 days to arrive!

  • So.. which store in WA are we talking about???

    • I bought it from O'Cornor. But check on the catalogue and change the location to your nearest store.

  • Same or better deals at Nepresso Boutiques at Melbourne. They have a different machine going for $200 after cash back. However, I did not get one as the brew tasted weak (Ristretto). The latte tasted like milk coffee. For those living in Melbourne, go to Seven Seeds, Proud Mary's or Sensory Labs and you'll know what real coffee tastes like.

    • A latte is a milk coffee! A cuppacino is a latte but with froth.

      • Ristrettos are strong mate, not weak.

        • -1

Clearly you misunderstood my post. I expect ristrettos to be strong and infused with flavour but those brewed by Nepresso failed big time. The lady in charge had to give me a taste of their special bean Lazza (something like that, told me was 12 intensity). Now that tasted more like a normal long black, still nothing close to a REAL RISTRETTO. Not even close to a Short Mac. In conclusion, brews from Nepresso are weak.

      • A latte is an espresso with milk, it is NOT milk coffee. If I want milk coffee, I will go to Woolworth's drink section and grab a farmer's ice milk coffee. Also, latte has a layer of foamed milk (froth) on top of it. A good latte is presented with some art, typically (in Aus) in the form of a fern on the surface. The number of leaves on the fern indicate the skill of the barista making it. I am not an expert on coffee (more into wines) but I can tell the difference between a MILK COFFEE and a LATTE.

Remember those old fashioned toothpaste tubes of 'Milk Coffee'? We used to take those camping in the olden days for when we got tired of billy tea! Those & the old fountain sauce bottles of 'Coffee & Chicory' syrup bring back memories…that's what I thought you might've been driving at!

I'm getting all nostalgic now! ;)

  • Not sure if it applies to the other states, but RACQ (QLD) members get a 12% discount at Good Guys via the "Show Your Card and Save" offer.
