How is this a bargain exactly? RRP? Extras included?

    • They doing a special price/promotion.

      • +3

You need to update the description then as it just looks like an ad not a bargain.

    Lipstick on a pig

    • +1

Yeah Most of those are in the Chinese domestic market not the rest of the world

    • +4

4 million customers is an easy achievement when the population of China is 1.4+ billion

    • Totally irrelevant and misleading. Comparing this to Mercedes? BMW?!

    • +11

Bently, Rolls-Royce sell less car!! Are they bad?

    • What's your relationship with HAVAL if any?

I do remember when Alan Bond started importing Hyundai Excels via Perth, and just look at them now…

  • +6

WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY OVER the odds, FFS you want proven Japper coin, need to knock off 50%

    Another happy customer:

      From the review;

We picked up the Haval H6 as a replacement for my Holden Cruze SRi-V.

      Some people will never learn.

      • LOL, indeed

        Maybe 3rd time lucky?

I would buy a Haval if in 3 years they gave me 75% back when i hand it back, why should the punters burn and tear up massive coin.

Cheap Chinese cars are average, the premium expensive ones are world class, the genius is making a cheap car premium, nobody does that better than the Japs

      • I love to see their full lemon history. Must be some other great ones there.

    • Sounds like my experience with Proton when they entered the Australian market. Fortunately the first four head gaskets were all replaced under warranty (though being without a car for a week each time was a PITA). Unfortunately, many of the other issues and faults were a battle to get anything remotely approaching service.

Spend your 25k on a demo or near new Toyota Rav 4 , at least with that you’ll get decent resale value .

With a Haval it”s used trade in will be worth as much as it’s Chinese cousin , a Great Wall …. remember them.

    • this ^^^

this Haval is sort of like somewhere between a Mazda CX3 and a CX5 so I would suggest you buy a almost new RAV4 Xtrail CRV Sportage Tuscon.

I wonder if before ANCAP testing of this car the mannequin just ran off…

    • +1

Just for giggles, and while we talk about Chinese cars, here's a classic where I bet the mannequin was kicking himself for not running off. Wonder why they were never sold here…

    • +1

There's a bunch of Chinese cars than can only be sold in WA as we don't have mandatory ESC here (Chery, I think) so this must be better than them…

      • -1

Heres one of the reasons we dont let them in the Eastern States…
        http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-08-15/chinese-cars-recalled-…

        • ..because they are full of Asbestos

        • @King Tightarse: Nothing to do with asbestos recall. Great Wall is the same company as Haval and Cheery is still in Australia. Geely was the brand they didn't allow to sell in eastern states and it was because no ESC

      • +2

They are Geely's. Then went bust. Yup no ESC. Asbestos was Great Wall (part of the Haval group) and Cheery. Either way, they are all shit

  • +4

id rather drive an old pajero or landcruiser than this pile of junk

    • +2

      Spanish to English translation
      pajero: jerk-off, w-ank-er

  • +9

Oh damn it Ozb. Here I go impulse purchasing again. No idea what Im buying, but its on here and I gotta have it. Bought 5, thx.

    • Don't worry, if you end up with buyer's remorse you can always pay a scrap merchant to come and tow them away.

  • Top selling brand in China or Top Chinese brand selling in OZ?

  • +3

No thanks! This depreciates so bad that you will loose 60% in the first year and will be like junk a bit later.

    • +1

Are you sure there is/will be a second hand market? I am not that optimistic but may be I am wrong…

      • -1

        Lol…

    • +4

Depreciation? Quite the opposite, actually. Clearly you are not a Westpac Investment Analyst.

  • They can't make automatic AWD?

  • +2

    Why no Xiaomi?

    • +2

Read the description carefully. You need the Xiaomi hub for this car to work.

  • -1

I'd rather buy a nice Harley or Japanese sports bike than this can.

  • Too bad, its not Xiaomi.

  • I opened this deal and found Honda CRV ad on the top right, quickly moved to them. Just came here to post my comments

  • Wow, look at that hack job!

People, first lesson when buying a car. Ask yourself, does this make and model need to exist? If answer is no, move on.

The Second lesson (unrelated) is the colour Biege only exists so poor people can afford to buy a 5 year old car that is in good condition but hideously ugly for $3000 on gumtree. From here on these cars will be refered to as "Goldies".

  • Slightly used Jap or Kor will be better option.

  • Using China product is way too fast to end up

  • +2

HAVAL- HAVe A Look and then go buy literally anything else

  • This is a Great Wall. Steer clear, poor quality and resale.

  • Haval is the parent company of Great Wall (GWM). Resale is about as crap as ever. Quality improved, but still lacks and western standards for non-safety gear. Haval also screwed alot of people over recently by offering free GPS (just software), but forced all customer who had bought just before the promotion to fork out around $1k. Servicing is also very high for the class. There is a good reason people are buying. If your thinking of buying one, talk to a great wall owner.

  • Maybe the only way to convince people is to provide a 25 year warranty.

Maybe Haval need to hire at $5 a day.

  • Now you too can afford to drive the automotive equivalent of a Sorny TV! Or if you're more of a Panafonics man, they also have the H6.

  • Total write off of $24,990 as soon as you drove away out of the showroom, even with the salesman still clapping his or her hands away for you .
