The price was popular last time, so you damaged some more boxes to run the deal again?

      Hipsters call in patina.

    • Accidently kicked some.

      Whoops!

    • From the ever reducing list of available items it looks like their stock is running out.

      • +2

From 88 listed products to 48. Yes they are selling out. Have removed most sold out items from the site because that would be annoying to browse through.

    • That it's exactly what I thought.

  • +1

Shame all the most popular stuff is still
    sold out ,
    and
not listed on the site anymore.

Bought a cheap grinder (GWS750) even though not particularly impressed with the noise coming out of the last one (GWS1400C) .

Maybe it will self lubricant and bed in,

but it feels good anyway ,
    with ear muffs on..
    and 3yr warranty

    • What kind of stuff was there previously? Seems like a pretty standard selection of Bosch Blue 18v ?

      • Well there were two pages worth ,
        Now there's only one,
So there was a few larger combo kits ,
as well as most of the mid range stuff

      • There were at least 40 more items - some variations of what there but also a vacuum skin, blower skin, torch, a few more gliding mitre saw varieties, Sabre saw variety. All sold out now.

Haven’t kept them listed it clutters the category and we dont think we will have more - probably not at this price anyway.

    • self lubricant and bed in

      That is a cheap grindr.

"30% off Bosch Blue (up to 50% off RRP*)"

"*Our prices are already up to 20% off retail and once again you can take a further 30% Off."

If your prices are "already up to 20% off retail" (ie price is a maximum of 20% less than RRP) and then "you can take a further 30% Off", then the final price will not be "up to 50% off RRP*".

It will be less than "up to 50% off RRP*" (20% off then additional 30% off does not equal 50% off).

In fact, I work it out to be up to 44% off RRP.

You make it sound like some year 12 maths exam question.

It’s a pet hate of mine when retailers pull this stunt. Instead of saying that we are increasing the discount from (up to) 20% to (up to) 50%, they say we are giving an extra 30%.

Lots of people will interpret that as 50% total and it’s wrong.

        • +1

Why don't you have a look at the first tool listed in the op's post .
This is the tool i bought first, and is slightly less than 60% off.

Everything else is less than 50% off that I looked at
But technically speaking they are underestimating their discount?

"Why don't you have a look at the first tool listed in the op's post .
This is the tool i bought first, and is slightly less than 60% off."

That's true, that single item is almost 60% off the listed RRP. But I wasn't checking the numbers, just the misleading mentioning of 20% and a further 30% and the result of up to 50%. It seems pretty clear to me what was intentionally implied by that.

        • @jdr: how about if they say
          around about 50% off ,
'were not good at math ,
          that's why you'll love our price's ' sale.
Cause I think this is the best sale on professional quality power tools I've ever seen
          How about you ?

        • +1

          @Sleepyweasel:

How about if they just not mention the 50% bit. If the customers think that 20% off then an additional 30% off means 50% off then that’s one thing but if the OP actually mentions 50% then that is deceptive.

It looks like a good sale but I haven’t really looked at it in detail.

      • If anything, I have seen them understate the RRP.
The big Jackhammer I bought from them was about $542 delivered, it is for sale elsewhere for mostly around $1299.
Oh, and no sign anywhere of carton damage because it came in a big plastic case with wheels on it, not a mark on it!

  • Bought the rotary hammer. Been looking at getting one all week finally the code came around.

  • wakko if you can price match the heatgun with here and still give me this coupon deal I'll buy one right now

    • Good luck with that, your link is to a dead page.

      • it loads on my end

        • 404 not found , fix you're link .

        • @Beach Bum: i'm really not sure why the page isn't working for you guys it loads fine for me. Maybe theres a location issue? anyway here's the pic of the page https://imgur.com/a/do4qw

        • @Sock: would be a more competitive price at around the $120 mark for a heat gun

        • @Sock:
          Loads fine for me too.

  • Oh you Ozbarginers…you all rock! Love it when no brainer posts are dismantled & 'shamed' oxo

The Bosch impact driver is a steal at that price. Can even be used as a drill with special drill bits.

  • Why oh why no free delivery to SA?

    • +1

      We are working towards:

      • Low flat rate Australia Wide for orders below a certain value
      • Free shipping Australia Wide for orders above a certain value

Trying to configure this very soon.

What are you looking to order and how much is the system quoting you?

    • HA!! try living in perth then

  • Is anyone as confused as I am by all the different types of drills? You've got:

    Impact Drill
    Hammer Drill
    Rotary Hammer
    Rotary Drill
    Drill Hammer
    Drill Driver

I know you use a hammer drill to drill into masonry, but what's the impact thing (sounds a bit like hammer to me), and then the rotary bit (I thought they all went round and round), and putting "drill" first changes what exactly?

    • +1

An impact driver is good for driving in screws. They have a lower propensity to strip screw heads if you're using Philips head screws. Drills might have a torque setting but if you're driving into hardwood, and impact driver will give better results. You should also pre-drill to ensure the screws can go in easier and still hold.

Hammer drill is used for masonry with a masonry bit.

A rotary hammer is a lot larger and used for demolition. That's a simplified explanation but unless you're drilling for massive bolts not needed around the home, however, if you want to fix something to brick or concrete you'd need a hammer drill to drill and then an impact driver to drive the screw into the hole.

You could use the one hammer drill for everything but it gets old changing bits if you're doing a lot of holes.

      • Thanks for the reply. I deliberately left out the impact driver/wrench off the list because they are not drills. The six I listed all have "drill" in their name (except rotary hammer - maybe that's not a drill?)

i.e what's the difference between a hammer drill and a drill hammer? A drill driver and an impact drill? A rotary drill and a rotary hammer?

I've got an impact driver and a hammer drill, so I think I'm set, but then I see all these variants and have no idea the difference between them.

To be honest, I was more amused than confused (although still confused) by all the variants. At some point I started wondering if Bosch was just screwing with us :)

  • Also, bought the turbo orb sander from them last deal and it came fast and in perfect condition (well, it seems so, yet to use it) and the carton wasn't damaged at all…

  • Got the rotary hammer drill this morning. Was hoping the seal would still be in tact but i guess these might be ex display units or something. Long as it has warranty i suppose.

  • Got my little Grinder GSW 750-100 too this morning.
Bought because Bosch website says it shares the same M14 spindle thread as the bigger grinders so would have been compatible with all my existing discs.
    Not so , M10 size spindle .

  • I was going to buy 2 more tools, looks like I was too slow :( .

    • Try code DONTMISSOUT

Don’t wait too long, won’t be active forever.

      • Just saw this now and it still worked.
        Thanks for that.

        • Excellent! Its still active for a while longer.
