Aussie Broadband NBN: 1 Month Free or 1 Year Double Data, Plans from $40/month (New Customers)

1691
WPFREETRIALWP12MONTHDD

Offer 1 – First month free, 6 months double data
The classic Whirlpool special. First month free with 6 months of double data on any residential or small business plan. One offer per location ID, can't be combined with any other offer. Online signup only, new customers only. Use promo code WPFREETRIAL in the online signup system for this offer.

Offer 2 – 12 months double data
This is our longest ever double data offer. You get 12 months of double data on any residential or small business plan. One offer per location ID, can't be combined with any other offer. Online signup only, new customers only. Use promo code WP12MONTHDD in the online signup system for this offer.

Both offers work with our new slider plans and you can change plans at any time and the double data will follow with the plan change. For example select 250GB this month and get 500GB, slide to 700GB next month and get 1400GB etc.

These offers are available on all the speed tiers we offer but we will be releasing a third offer for the 150/100 tier in a couple of weeks. If you have an interest in this tier and are on FTTP then you may want to hold off. It won't be a double data offer for that offer, it will more be around a short term discount on the 150/100 tier as a trial for those wanting to see what super fast speeds are like.

As a bonus for those who signed up on the one month free whirlpool promo code (that didn't include double data), we will automatically apply the 6 months double data component to your account from the next billing period start, so you will also get a full 6 months of double data (regardless of plan). This is limited to those who used the Whirlpool free month code WPFREEMONTH (which is now retired).

Limited time
Like all special offers, the above two have a time limit. They are available for orders placed between now and 31 March 2018, we may extend past this date if the offer is well supported.

{Edit}
per sunshine moon:
There is no doubt that a few other competitors have pricing that is better then ABB and for me that is a bit disappointing.
But the fact that I can depend on my speed to be consistent and within rage of what I purchased, the EXCELLENT customer service and personal notifications when there are known issues means more to me then saving a few dollars each month.

You can feel free to shop around and get the product that suites but do do your homework to be sure you are getting exactly what you need and want.

Some or many price points have changed for the better- go here https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2705337 to see what they are or to the deal as they are updated there also.

  • Currently nbn with Exetel. not a great ISP but works out still better than this promo deal. $60 with unlimited voip phone 500GB enough for us!

    • Depends if you want consistent speeds or not.

The difference between congestion and no congestion is super stark. No other RSP at the moment do you have any real guarantee that congestion won't hit you at some point.

    • I'm with buzz for $29 a month lol, works for me.

Seriously, I could never imagine that internet in Australia was so horrible. I live 8km from CBD and only ADSL is available (no speed guaranteed, usually around 5Mbps, sometimes 2Mbps). I see offers of "double data" and I feel like I went back in time ten years.

I know NBN killed the internet. I was on a much better plan before using cable, now seems that we have to find a provider that is expensive but actually provides a good service which is what most decent provider should be like. I guess you get what you pay for but still expensive.

  • +2

If you are after the cheapest NBN, then ABB is not for you. If you value speed, reliability and great customer service then sign up…you won't regret it!

  • All these deals make me think that sooner or later they'll just accept the $ and their network speed will drop as a result of overselling. Here's hoping they don't. Great ISP with excellent service and speeds, which I really hope they continue to maintain.

  • The build in our area is underway but won't be complete for up to 6-9 months. Can we sign up now and will the offer still be valid when we are finally connected?

    • No, orders within 3 months of RFS.

    • This deal isn't that good lol

      • It is for me, was planning to sign up anyway. The deal would be a bonus. Lol.

        • They always run this promotion anyway.

I pay $69 for a 100/40 1tb peak and 5tb off peak with Telecube. Whereas the closest plan on same tier I
with ABB is $110 with 1tb data allowance…

Try telecube and save some moolah.

    • +1

yeah and every friday night watch your speeds drop to 5Mbps.. no thanks

      • +1

not true at all. im a heave user and heavy gamer and have had 0 issues with telecube

      • Utter BS.
I've been on Telecube for nearly a year, and never get slowdown at peak times.
I honestly can't even remember the last time I had a speed test under 90mb/s.

    • Save money, but suffering from buffering is a real issue!

      • I honestly don't care about telecube or any ISP for that matter. I am just a regular tightarse who feels warm n fuzzy inside when I save a few cents. But for more than 4 months it has been running fabulously for me (FTTP). I say to anyone looking at a plan to try and make their own mind. Good thing that ABB and telecube have no contracts. Hell why leave skymesh behind. Give them a try too.

        • +1

Serious question, can you honestly say you've never seen a drop in speed during peak hours (5pm - 11pm)?

        • @randolpg: no issues at all. perth, Aus

This is a price increase for some Aussie Broadband plans. Went from $35 for 25 GB to $40 for 10 GB which with the promotion still makes it 20 GB for the slowest plan. My retired friends were looking to sign up to Aussie Broadband low cost - law usage plan. They will now need to look elsewhere.

    • A free month might be good then. Don't forget they'll need a modem also, which usually effects the signup cost.

I like that ABB is month to month, if they sick, free to move.

Now wait a minute.. it was only a couple of hours ago that @Maverick-au exclusively chastised me in response to my critical post regarding an ABB selective lock out in joining ABB purely because I had the misfortune of being on a ABB-deemed "congested" node (yeah I cannot achieve any sync above 25/5 - like it's my fault) - declaring with much pomp and ceremony - that:

"Truly unbelievable that someone can be upset because a company puts its customers before it's profit."

Now I hear it's low yielding/extremely frugal users - senior customers that are getting shafted to fund the current ABB promotion or leave. Perhaps..

Who would have thought ABB are in it to make a profit hey.. They must be after the high yielding 100/40 FTTP customers as a focus going forward. No? Good on them. Although, spare me the "by the people/for the people" mantra that some tout as being the philosophy behind ABB or any ISP out there for that matter. It just doesn't exist for a certain class of NBN customers. This needs fixing.

For what we are clearly seeing is a very class-based internet access pattern looming in this country based on geographical NBN node location - which doesn't bode well for any egalitarian thinking Aussie who should be able to avail themselves of a level NBN playing field.. You can thank your Government for dropping us into that!

Buzz Telco - I love you more and more each day!!

  • Hi, can anyone please tell me how do I get the $40/month as I can only have $45/month for the lowest speed and data ?
I also pretty new to this NBN as it only available in my area last November. If I don't join in NBN now, do I get up to 18 months since November to join in before my ADSL line being cut off ? And if I can still use my existing phone handset when I take phone call option via NBN ? Thanks

    • Use the slider…
12mbps, 10 GB and no phone.

do I get up to 18 months since November to join in before my ADSL line being cut off ?

Service Providers will contact you when the service is ready to offer you a service. 18 months later, the old telephone and internet services will be disconnected at your address. It is a rolling disconnection, so the date will be different for everyone.
…their current ADSL Internet and phone service will be disconnected if they fail to switch to the NBN in time.

If you’re unsure when your existing network will be discontinued, use the finder NBN address checker https://www.finder.com.au/nbn-tracker. Be aware that a disconnection date might not be visible for premises that were connected very recently. In this case, simply add 18 months to the "ready for service" date listed, to work out when the disconnection date will be. https://www.finder.com.au/nbn-copper-cut-off

And if I can still use my existing phone handset when I take phone call option via NBN ?

you will need a VOIP ready modem or VOIP adapter connected between your current phone and the modem or you can purchase a VOIP ready phone.

  • I signed up on that last deal for the first month free in Jan using the code provided I went for the 50/20mb with 500gb @$75 the speed was a lot better that with my previous provider, but just like with them I wasn't using much data I hit about 100gb in the first month with aussiebb. So I've lowered my speed tier down to 25/5 from the next billing period so if I "slide" my data to 150gb I'll receive 300gb for 6 months as per my understanding from this post. So looking at $57 I believe for 300gb @ 25/5 for 6 months. I've raised a support ticket to confirm but Id be happy sticking with aussiebb if thats the case even though other ISPs are offering cheaper plans, abb approach at handling the competition for both new and existing customers is something to be rewarded.

  • Did anyone notice that the plan prices have dropped back down? 100/40 1000 GB was $110 /month and now it's back down to $100 /month.

  • So, if my housemate is already signed up with aussie broadband (and doesn't qualify for this promotion), are we able to cancel the contract, sign up in my name for the same address and get this deal? We wanted to upgrade our plan anyway so this would be perfect

  • Can you sign up to the Super Fast 2000GB for $230 for the month and then change to standard plus every data and get double data after the month ?

  • I used FPFREETRIAL to signup in early Feb because I was told by the AussieBB rep that the whirlpool code was no longer available. As a bonus do we also get the double data too?

check out this thread https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2703983&… The founder/Managing Director and some of his minions monitor it they may have already answered this question or you can message Phil from there with your question.

      • +1

Thanks, I spoke with them via their online chat and they upgraded me to double data from the next billing cycle, so all good :)

  • Would referring-customers get a free month?

  • hi OP,
Any updates regarding the FTTP 150/100 offer that you mentioned would be coming soon?

    • I am not with ABB I am a consumer just like you use the links I posted and find out.
