  Most people don't. Max speed of your mobile is 433 Mbps, your laptop most likely is 866 Mbps. So AC1300 or AC1900 is enough for most people.

      You'll need a good WiFi card for your desktop/laptop to get 1300, 1733 or 2166 Mbps, then these AC3100 routers can be fully utilised. That said, if you have a lot of users then higher end routers (with higher CPU speed) can manage the traffic and prioritisation better.
