  • Great prices. Thanks for sharing.

  • what do ppl generally do if they have such a long transit time? ie. around 8hrs
    I mean wont you have to pay for hotel at the airport and stay the night? which adds to the cost of the flight?

      jump on the subway, head into town, find as many hawker halls and eat as much as you possibly can—chilli crab, chicken rice etc before heading back to airport and sleep on plane

    • Or just bum around the airport .Some ppl value the cost savings over the time wasted

    • Dragonpass via free Regus membership - lay up in a lounge, grab a shower and nap in massage chairs.

      Drinks alone worth it considering price elsewhere in Singapore.

    • Not sure if you can still do it but once upon a time you could do a special bus tour to see the sites without actually going through customs. Of course you got on and off a bus within the confines of the international airport and couldn’t get off until you were back at the airport but it was a good way to pass a few hours.

      • thanks sounds like a great idea if it's still available :)

    Booked for $460 with a nice 20hr stopover in Singapore! Thank you!!!

  • How much is for extra baggage thou?

    Was looking at these Jetstar to Japan deal for $450 only to be shocked by $150 baggage upgrade each way which ends up more expensive than flying Qantas….

    Dodgy…

      How LCCs roll. Actually great if you travel light, don't get stung paying for baggage you don't need.

      • Well you only get 7kg carry on allowance which really isn't a lot.

        And if they are being anal about it and start weighting it before you board you might get stunk…

          When i went backpacking in europe for a three weeks my pack was 9kg

        • You just pack half of what you want and throw your old stuff and buy new over there.

          @billyb67:

          Which parts of Malaysia do you recommend?

          Previously been only to KL,
          and now going to Borneo.

          Any other areas recommended?

          @movieman:

          I can easily hang around Penang, Melaka for a few weeks..

          I always plan to go to other places, but just get lazy and eat my weeks away LOL

          Ipoh is ok, Johor Bharu is ok, maybe not huge on the big touristy places
          but I like just hanging out watching life go by..

          Kota Kinabalu is ok too if you get over to Sabah, but a little more pricey, as is Langkawi

    FlightScout has advised me that this link gives a one page cheap flights to Hong Kong, which is probably easier to use than Skyscanner's interface.

  • I wouldn't go to Hong Kong in March if I had very young or old members of the family with me.

    There's a strong case of flu that's killing off more people than usual. I'd wait til it's over.

    Still a fantastic deal though. Plenty of opportunity to travel later.
