  • so 250 gb for $103

    • I dunno, I reckon you'll do OK since this is an email only special…

      • i edited my post as i misread title, though it was xbox 360, but this is good deal

$100 is pretty expensive for a 250GB drive and a case. Even if it is genuine, Crash Of The Day is still a bad website.

    • it's about 33.333% discount

    • Yes, agreed, for the raw hardware it's a terrible price. But for those (poor) people who still have driveless arcades, this is a great price, since the official one is normally at least $150.

Also, don't disagree about CoTD, but a bargain is a bargain.

    • Why is Catch of the Day a bad website? I've bought several things from them without any issues. I know they have constant crashes during their "super" specials with limited stock but I don't bother with these anyhow.

      • -1

you guys got no bloody idea

only Microsoft HDDs work in Xbox360s

of course you can buy a 500Gb bare drive for $50 but since it's not a special Microsoft flashed drive it won't work

if you don't wanna play Bill's game, don't buy a crappy Xbox

        • +2

Somebody is a ps3 fan boy

          This is a brilliant price.

        • That's right for most hdds however, I use a hdd for my 360, Non-micrsoft. Google Hddhackr, it lets you set up some hdds for a 360.

Also, these hdds are compatible with the new 360, you just have to take them out of their case and sort of slide it into the 360. It's not pretty, but it works.

        • +2

err tonyjzx, you sir, have no idea!

"only Microsoft HDDs work in Xbox360s"
microsoft dont make hdds (even though this was probably not what you meant literally).

"of course you can buy a 500Gb bare drive for $50 but since it’s not a special Microsoft flashed drive it won’t work"
2 seconds on google shows you a stack of tutorials of how to do just that, including using oem hdd cases that MS use for xbox 360 available via DX etc eg:
          http://gizmodo.com/254502/install-your-own-120gb-xbox-drive-…
          http://www.instructables.com/id/Upgrading-the-Xbox-360-hard-…

so chill out and have an oreo (while playing COD on you PS3, which admittedly is a shite-load easier to upgrade the HDD on)

        • Of course if you want to keep your xbox online, you'll want the genuine accessory. Hacked hard drives (and the console) get banned from xboxLive when they do their periodic mass-bannings.

Okay, i was about to positive, until i saw it was COTD. I thought they only got posted in forums, and not here?

    • Oh, really? I didn't know that was a rule. If so, sorry.

    • Troll, COTD get posted here all the time

  • Damn… was expecting the slim HDD :(

  • only fits the superceded arcades not the new slims

  • +2

you can get them for approx $60 +postage from deals xtreme (yes, albeit an american site but still with the $ so strong).

    • +1

      dealextreme has free postage

    • +1

      Actually it's Chinese (HK):
      PO BOX 779
      TAI PO POST OFFICE
      HONG KONG

Last time I checked they didn't sell the genuine one but its a flashed WD Scorpio drive in a 3rd party case. I also remembered that there were many cases of it stuffing up.

I have the same thing as what they sell but I did it myself. And I had no problems so far.

      Postage is also free.

      • my bad, duly noted :)

        • All cool! Just informing ya!

You can get the offical genuine 250GB HDD from JB Hifi for $129. If you dont want to wait for delivery. I am not sure if the COTD price include delivery ot not.

    • shipping $4.95 aus wide

      • Making the TOTAL $103.95.
See what the OP has done.

        • I was typing this response as he changed it

  • +2

I dare say this might be a common item heavily discounted soon once retailers identify they are holding onto old stock which won't fit the new model.

  • lol its SOS for COTD…they need these gone so they wont have to stuck with them since there are newer models soon.

  • +1

On sale again for $89 next week? LOL

  • +5

use the coupon code FREESHIP to get free postage :)

    • with paypal i believe :)

      • didnt work for me.

  • Just buy it cheaper from eBay and save atleast $20 and get it quicker, even if it's from o/seas http://cgi.ebay.com.au/250GB-Hard-drive-disk-HDD-Xbox-360-ga…

    • +2

yep, if u dont mind a fake

      • on that example sure, but im sure a cheaper item can still be found, than cotd's stated price

  • +5

Catch of the day have just released a further $25 off their subscriber only special.

    Enter coupon code: xboxmax

    • +1

oh, from where you got that? This coupon really works and it better than free delivery. 79 bucks only!!!
I hate COTD for their lies and history, but if it is genuine and at 79. It is a pretty good price IMO. I bought my used genuine 60 GB for 50 bucks. I would have bought, but 60gb is more than sufficient for me.

      • i have 120gb, and have 102 odd still free, but then my xbox is my #2 console

    • that code actually works ! Just got one.. thanks ;-)

    • @Wanon : I am still wandering, from where you got the coupon code. Sorry to ask, but are you a rep for COTD. Anyways, you reminded us of QQQ ;)

    • @Wanon- legend

  • +5

One of the better COTD offers of recent history! $79 delivered is pretty good

  • thanks for that, $79 is a great deal for me !

  • Ordered. Cheers!

  • Quick question 350gb hdd new $61.99 delivered. I assume clone case?
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/250GB-HARD-DISK-DRIVE-HDD-MICROSOFT-X…

So is this still a better deal? With discount coupon?

    • I'd still opt for the catch of the day one, personally - they've said it's genuine, the eBay one not so much.

If there are problems with the CoTD one, it can be returned etc.

    • I have found alot are just selling the hard drive and that is it where this also has the transfer kit, which adds about ~$7. I would also be worried about ones on ebay being fake. Also the one on ebay is from Hong Kong so you will be waiting a week plus.

      This is what COTD has
      Package includes:
      250GB hard drive
      Transfer kit
      Transfer CD
      User manual
Pre-loaded Xbox 360 content: game demos, trailers and assorted Xbox LIVE Arcade game trials

  • Thanks for that. Good price with Discount coupon. Especially since it includes transfer cable and software. Used paypal instant bank transfer so hopefully I have not been issued with a eCheque as COTD don't accept those as it delays payment and processing.

The free shipping didnt work for me and i think it messed up my xboxmax coupon, i just realised i bungled it all up. I didnt realise till after i confirmed the order :(. I got no discount whatsoever now.

  • -6

    Free shipping does not work.

    • +2

Why did you give this a negative?

      • -2

        ummmm, i didn't.

  • -2

    Shipping does not work (free)

  • COTD system does not allow more then one coupon, same as most sites so you can either choice free shipping or $25 off.

    • -2

OMG what a bad site, they are just trying to make money off the people who don't understand this!

      • +1

Wow - I've seen it all.

        • -1

@QQQ Can you confirm that orders done last night have been dispatched?

"Buy tonight, it’ll be despatched tomorrow!"

        • My order is still displaying "Processing" .. @QQQ why haven't the orders been dispatched the next day as mentioned on the product page ?

        • @QQQ .. 5 days and still processing.. Good on you COTD.. “Buy tonight, it’ll be dispatched tomorrow!”
Not to mention no one bothers to reply to the email inquiries
@aacheney .. sorry for accidentally giving u a negative vote.. it was meant for @QQQ

      • …. are you serious? You're giving me a negative vote for that? A relatively standard "non-stacking" practice?

    • -4

dw i found i found a way to enter both codes

      • how?

      • Yes, How? I couldnt get either to work sadly.

        • same, I would be very interested in find out how you did it.

      • Can you tell the ozbargainers, so that they can save more money, or want to confuse QQQ to check all the code and stuff ;)

  • Thanks for that, at $79 i couldn't resist buying one!

  • Nice find northirid, thanks.

  • Just ordered it, looking forward to it arriving!

  • Anyone received their order yet ?

    • Looks like mine arrived. Not sure though as I just got the usual missed package card. Sorry the ePacel courier is incompetent and failed to knock on the door or ring the door bell. Go to the local post office and pickup the package. Even though I have been home all day.

      • Just got my delivery. All good ;-)
