  • What was the price and points bonus before this promo?

I'm currently looking for another QFF reward points credit card after my ANZ one expired :(

The minimum spend for this one hurts tho…..

    • Hi Homr, it was 60,000 bonus points. The fee was $250 and this is set to stay since the companion Amex card has been cut. Earn rate will go up to 0.75 and best of all uncapped so that might be interesting to some. Downside is the high spend requirement 5k in 90 days.

      • ANZ black QFF earn rate is 1 Qantas point per $1 spend. Any chance you can get Westpac to review?

Even the cheaper alternative the Qantas Premier card has a 1 point per $1 spend rate.

      • Yeah would be needing to buy a number of gift cards to make use of this, then you have 12-24 months to use them

  • are existing customer eligible for the offer?I have a plat card, looking to close it very soon.
Or does westpac have some waiting periods as AMEX?

    • Unfortunately no, you will need to have your account closed for 12 months before you can re-apply and get the bonus

    • T's and C's state: Westpac customers who currently hold an Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black credit card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer.

  • What is the min credit limit? $6000?

    • Min limit is 15k, I think the platinum might be 6k

  • Transfer Now: For a one-off transfer of Altitude Points to Velocity Points, click on 'Transfer Now'. You will receive 1 Velocity Point for every 2 Altitude Points, however, you must redeem a minimum of 3,000 Altitude Points with additional increments in multiples of 500 Altitude Points at a time.

    So $1 = 0.625 Velocity points, is that right? 0.718 points when there's a 15% bonus promotion?

    • +1

yep $1 is 0.625 VA so best to wait for a bonus promo to transfer them. IMO the QF sign up bonus is better, you can always switch to Altitude Rewards after you get the Qantas points credited.

      • Thanks for the confirmation! I'm invested in the Velocity partner programs so this not ideal for me

        • Have a look at the Velocity High Flyer card, it's pretty good if you can meet the minimum spend requirements.

  • Is there a minimum salary to apply Sir?

    • Sorry forgot to mention, 75k min salary requirement and 15k min credit limit.

  • From 4 April, there will be a fee of $50 if you choose Qantas Reward. Question: If I get the card before 28 March, when will I be charged this $50 fee ? next year or April 4th this year ?

    • It's my understanding that if you get in before, you won't be charged the fee

  • i signed up for this, still waiting for my 80,000 points. reached $5000 in November.

    • I read on another forum that Westpac are very bad when it comes to sending points out. Many people waited months and months even after calling the call centre. One person finally got the points 10 months after the spend. Most people finally got points by posting on Westpac's facebook page. You should follow it up that way.

      • i think i checked my account right after posting that. 80k points finally in my account wooots.
