2x Kingston A400 120GB 2.5" SSDs $124.22 (from $85.22 ($42.61ea) Delivered after Voucher Purchase + Shipster) @ Kogan

210

The previous deal was removed because it did not meet posting guidelines. I was advised by a Mod that I could not edit that deal and a new post had to be made.

received a price drop notice for these drives. I bought them last week for $65 each (obviously using credit and vouchers to drive the price down by half)

I put "from" as ebay vouchers vary in price.

Ok, a 120gb SSD for ~$62.11 doesn't sound that great.

but to reduce the price (and free shipping) :

(1) get a shipster 2 month free trial

(2) buy a Kogan $50 Off $120 Spend Gift Voucher (actually 2 vouchers: 1 x$20 + 1 x $30 which can be stacked) off ebay

(3) put 2 SSDs in your cart and check out (using $50 voucher) they end up @ $37.11 each. (not including the cost of the ebay $50 kogan voucher)

You could also use other credits / referral credits you may have.

brand new SSD drives.

I bought them to make into the primary OS drive for some laptops I have. remove the optical drive and install SSD with a caddy - like this one from aliexpress for US$2.26 delivered.

For that price, id wait for a deal on a 240GB SSD under $100

You cant do much with a 120GB SSD these days

    • put them in raid?

    • Unless you want to RAID 0 them together for 240GB.. Good way to get around the SATA bandwidth limitation per drive?

    • +1

Has the same amount of uses as any other drive. Just can't store as much. Perfect for having a dedicated Windows drive, essential programs and sticking the rest on additional SSD/HDDs. Good for an external drive too. Mine is loaded with Easy2boot and still have plenty left over for other programs.

Or RAID as others have said. I personally use a few as cache drives in my el-cheapo servers. The proper ones have PCIe NVME :)

    • Been using a 840 Pro 120GB for several years. There's no need for more space yet. It's nice, that's about all, but OS and many programs will fit on there with no hassle.

  • Would this method also work for a Google Home

Means it would be $139 + $11 - $50 with Free Delivery (no need to worry about Shipster)

Seems like on of the cheapest prices on OzB ??

    • +1

Yep it’ll be about $100, that’s for overseas stock though, $102 @ TGG seems like the best “deal” so far even if it’s not the cheapest.

      • Actually add in the $10 referral and it would be $90 ;)

Not a bad deal seeing as TGG has been and gone…

        • It’s a good deal :) Just noting that it’s probably not the best so far but looks to be one of the cheapest, great find!

        • @doweyy: Totally agree - i'd prefer TGG and local stock ;) Just happy to find the cheapest price with a workaround :)

  • Can you please post links to the voucher you got off eBay?

    • +1

can't do that. and there is no search function for "kogan $50" on ebay either.

      • So what vouchers do i use?
Just a little confused sorry mate

        • +1

I believe altomic is being sarcastic, you can just do a search for 'Kogan $50' on eBay :)

          Here's one I prepared earlier.

        • @hamza23: Haha cheers just wanted to make sure i was buying the right one lol

        • @Lockster: sorry, yes. being sarcastic. sellers sell a $50 voucher - which in reality is a $30 and a $20 which can be used together when you cart total is >$120.

        • @altomic: Thank you mate :)

  • Out of interest does anyone know if theres a limit to the vouchers per account - do you have to make a new account each time to use the voucher?

  • "(2) buy a Kogan $50 Off $120 Spend Gift Voucher (actually 2 vouchers which can be stacked) off ebay"
    Can you clarify this?
Does this mean the voucher is actually 2x "$25 off vouchers" or do I just need to go to ebay, buy one "50 off voucher" and the seller sends me two codes, or?

    • +1

The seller will send you one voucher for $30 and one voucher for $20, they just advertise it as $50 gift voucher.

      • Thanks hamza

  • HI OP,

How many KOGAN Voucher can be stacked at the check out?

    • two - one voucher for $30 and one voucher for $20

if you have credits then they can also be used along side the vouchers.

      • Thank you, I am waiting for the code on ebay.

        good instruction to follow :)

        • How long did they take to send you the codes? I need one today and those codes expire in a few days

  • some ebay users sell $30 off $120 for 4.95. i wonder if we can stack 4 of them to basically bring the price down to $24 for both + shipping ..

    • +2

no, you can't stack the same vouchers together.

  • Anyone in Sydney cbd can share one??

  • Thanks OP, worked out as: $124.22 + $11.50 - $10 - $50 = $75.72 ($37.86 ea) delivered

  • THANKS OP Just got mine.

so total cost comes out to $87.71 for me. (I must added the protection cost from Kogan) meh..

    2 x 120GB A400 Kingston SSD =124.22

    Kogan $50 voucher Code = $11.50

    Shipster (2month Free) =$6.95

    total $86.71

  • More practical: $63.60 for an Intel 535 256GB and a $4 nail polish….

    • That's actually nice if you have only 1 pc to upgrade..

    • Where can you get this price, from Kogan or elsewhere?

I did a search on the Kogan website and on Ozbargain, couldn't find any mention of this deal.

Would you have a link? Thanks.

        • Thanks for the link.

Isn't it more like $80 though? The SSD is listed for just under $120 - disregarding the $4 nail polish, it would be:
          $120
          + $11.50 (to purchase $50 voucher)
          - $50 (voucher value)
          = $81.50

How do you get to $63? What am I missing?

        • +1

          @shake:
          Whoops forgot the voucher cost!
It was 123-50-10+11.90 so around $75

And you need still need the shipster for free shipping :-)

        • @FickleRick:

Cool, thanks for clarifying. Still a good price for a 256 GB SSD, thanks for mentioning it.

  • +1

I recently bought an old Dell inspiron 1525 laptop back to life with one of these SSDs Used EASEUS partition master pro to clone the existing HD to the SSD & it went smoothly.

  • Thanks for the deal mate.

  • How long does the ebay voucher normally take (via email)?

    • usually it is sent via ebay message. depends how fast the seller notices the item has sold and sends it.

  • Thanks OP

  • +1
