    Bosch GCM10MX Chop & Mitre Saw $640 on your site or $389 after 40% off, you can buy it for $379 here http://www.thetoolstore.com.au/0601b29040.html or am I missing something?

    • +3

      I'll reply as the answer may be embarrassing to the seller,
      but the RRP's they're quoting are from years ago when these were new models .
      Also many came in tool boxes with accessories not in basic form in a damaged cardboard box with no extra accessories.
      Don't get me wrong I just bought a heat gun because it is convenient,
      but all the accessories are expensive.
      The DeWalt at Bunnings is probably a better choice for most at about the same money ,
      with a hard tool case and plenty of attachments

      • Got my heat gun today.
        It actually came in a case with two attachments.
        So have to eat my words a bit there.
        Nice bit of kit.

    • Thanks will have someone look into it tomorrow.

      • +2

        What was the outcome?

        • Price has been reduced to $409.

        • +1

          @Wakko:what about you're other items where the original price (RRP),
          is a little high compared to the competition?

        • @Sleepyweasel: I’ve looked at this as a case where our price was significantly different. At the time of pricing we have researched a number of suppliers and used this as a base point. There are many different prices on offer and finding a set price has been difficult. As the case for this price showed it was now being offered much cheaper we made a decision to match / beat. The difference would need to be significant for us to consider amending our pricing.

        • +1

          @Wakko:its difficult to find the tools
          let alone the prices , from years ago on some models as they have been discontinued
          or are about to be superseded by new models .

          when you have a real +50% off sale let us know ,and we may be able to help you clear some of the rest of your leftover old stock.

        • +1

          @Sleepyweasel:

          You can always PM an offer. You might be surprised 😱

        • +1

          @Steptoe: done and done

  • Hi Wakko - did you get my PM?

    • I have replied.

      • Thanks. Appreciate.

  • Are you sure this grinder -
    GWS 15-125 CITH has the correct photo ,
    because the Bosch website shows this model to have a different handle,
    a long trigger handle as on the larger GSW 24-230LV grinder.

    This may be a different model , a GSW 15-CI Perhaps
    And need further price adjustment.

    • I will have someone check the accuracy of the photo but the dispatcher will use model number and part number to determine which item to send so it will match the written description.

      I’ve requested this be looked into for tomorrow morning.

      • Yes well I would like to know ,
        because the long handled version sells for $249 at Total Tools,
        so if you took 20% off that it would be $200 and 40% off $200 is $120 ,
        or around 50% off the original price.
        I could afford to perhaps buy a third grinder from you for that.

  • Demo hammer sold out as I was debating over the purchase. Oh well. You snooze you lose.

    • Sorry wasn’t lying when I said it’s selling quick!

    • Was also considering this. Too bloody late as usual. Once in a lifetime deal that. Less than half the price of the cheapest competitor.

  • Any 5kg demo drills left?

    • Only what’s online. If it’s sold out then that’s all there is.

      • GGS6G Straight grinder has been priced at $693 at beyond tools ,
        Considerably less than your quoted $848 RRP.

    We like to see prices. Bargains have prices.

    • -5

      Sure, I’ll update the post otherwise you can just visit the site. Because 40% off isn’t exactly a small discount. It’s quite considerable for high priced items so listing 19 items and their prices seem pointless.

      • +10

        We come here for bargains. We are not all going to visit your website. This is Australia's largest buying community. How can prices be pointless?

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…
        Write a descriptive title & description
        2. State the price.

        • +5

          Would you say the same thing about the ebay percentage promotions PJC?

        • +7

          @cornbeef: OP offers 19 Bosch Blue products without disclosing any prices despite OzBargain guidelines.

        • -8

          @cornbeef:

          No, he/she only trolls reps (cos they can't bite back)…nauseatingly pasting the same text/image/shop window reference in the hope for a few + votes

        • +10

          @cornbeef:
          You know he won't. PJC is trying to be helpful, just appreciate it instead of negging.

        • +5

          @cornbeef: eBay isnt a single store, its a mall of thousands of stores.

        • +6

          @OzBragain: "same text/image/shop window reference"
          Do you mean as in the same way magistrates keep referring to the same paragraphs over and over for the same crimes?

          "Stating the price" isn't an option, it's a condition. It's how the site works. Ebay % promotions are announcements, this is purportedly a deal [ to those who fail to read the first two comments]

        • -3

          @terrys:

          Do you mean as in the same way magistrates keep referring to the same paragraphs over and over for the same crimes?

          No, Boy Wonder is not a magistrate.

          My main issue with this self appointed wannabe magistrate is that he/she only trolls reps because he/she has learned that reps will generally remain professional and not bite back.

          The comments are repetitive and boring. If he/she really wanted to help rather than troll then they'd use the report button.

        • +4

          @OzBragain:
          What if from now all deals posted on Ozbargain never have any prices listed, just % off listed?
          The rep will get more traffic if prices are listed, It's also part of the deal posting guidelines 2. State the price.

        • -2

          @Wystri Warrick:

          What if Boy Wonder reported % off posts rather than trying to gain jv notoriety by trolling reps?

          Someone previously compared Boy Wonder to a magistrate. What if we all made ourselves magistrates and police officers on the streets? It just doesn't work. If someone isn't following the deal posting guidelines then mods are active in responding to reports and sorting out dodgy posts.

        • +4

          @OzBragain: If we all made ourselves magistrates and police officers that would be the equivalent of mod powers, we're being upstanding citizens/Ozbargainers.
          their is a fair amount of irony in posting comments that PJC is a troll for posting comments to reps, instead of using the report button.

        • +1

          @BrodenIt: No negs here, not my thing. A constructive response would be to suggest the OP puts the price up for one item and note 40% off 18 others. Pretty common stuff.

        • -2

          @Wystri Warrick:

          If we all made ourselves magistrates and police officers that would be the equivalent of mod powers, we're being upstanding citizens/Ozbargainers.

          My point is that we can't all be police/mods. You or I can't make ourselves police/mods, there's a process to follow and not everyone is suitable. Nearly every time I go past a rug store there's a sign out the front declaring a closing down sale, sometimes this sign will be up for years. As an upstanding citizen it's not my place to go and pull down the obviously bogus sign.

          their is a fair amount of irony in posting comments that PJC is a troll for posting comments to reps, instead of using the report button.

          It's getting late and maybe I'm not explaining myself well. Boy Wonder will rarely (if ever) make a disparaging comment to anyone but a rep. Reps are easy targets and for this I consider him/her somewhat of a coward.

        • +4

          @cornbeef:
          sorry…i was replying to ozbragain. not you

        • +4

          @OzBragain: "reps will generally remain professional"
          Is that why the guidelines don't apply? PJC was offering advice politely to someone who came here to sell, but apparently hadn't noticed the format required to do that. The benefit of the doubt has gone given that they still haven't.

          FWIW - "Professional" means that the person makes money from the activity they are "professional" in. No more. Then what would I know, I am merely matriculated, civilised and attempting to be very nice.

        • +3

          @OzBragain: "As an upstanding citizen it's not my place to go"
          No, merely to point the fact out if someone new to the area is overheard saying " Look Dear, a sale, we had better get in quick".
          In such circumstances, what would you think of someone walking up to a person taking the time to let them know that the "sale" was no such thing and telling them to butt-out because the store owner was involved in making money?

        • +4

          @OzBragain: It's not about playing police/magistrates/modes it's about following the guidelines, none reps follow the guidelines by including prices being a rep does not give you immunity, everyone needs to follow the guidelines and that includes reps too.
          A closing down sale is a marketing tactic which is just what it says a 'sale', the store isn't actually closing down, pulling down a sign is vandalism to private property and that would be being a police/magistrate/mod. if someone is actually doing something wrong talking to them about it is being an upstanding citizen, not pulling a sign down.

          Boy wonder (wonder boy sounds better) is not attacking the reps and he has not been name calling, he's talking to the reps about the guidelines.

        • +3

          @Wystri Warrick: The irony is that the OP has merely had the guidelines pointed out to them with helpful suggestions and a template to assist - and those performing this service are being attacked by people suggesting that that is "trolling", and they are merely stalwart defenders of traders' rights.
          Policing, as it were.
          It isn't a crime for someone to fart in my workplace. It is my right to point out the smell and mention where the noise came from.

        • +3

          @terrys: Exactly, PJC has been very civil and has gone out of his way to offer helpful suggestions and templates to newbie reps who don't know the guidelines, and in return he is being attacked and called names.

        • +6

          @OzBragain:

          What if Boy Wonder…

          What? I'm Boy Wonder! Whoever you're talking about is an imposter!

          What if we all made ourselves magistrates and police officers on the streets?

          Well for me there would be no confusion at all - i would go around and charge every prat i met (as a PO), and then find them guilty (as a Magistrate), and then beat them harshly (as a Corrective Services Officer). Oh hang on, i'm not a CSO. Can you make me a CSO as well as that's the fun bit.

        • -2

          @terrys:

          "reps will generally remain professional"
          Is that why the guidelines don't apply?

          I should have said reps will generally remain professional in their response to trolls. This isn't an English class and not going to argue about semantics.

          PJC was offering advice politely to someone who came here to sell

          While not overly obnoxious I see his/her posts coming across more as demands and far from polite advice.

        • -2

          @Wystri Warrick:

          being a rep does not give you immunity, everyone needs to follow the guidelines and that includes reps too.

          I haven't said reps don't need to follow the OzB guidelines. If reps don't follow the guidelines then the report button is the most effective way of rectifying the issue.

          A closing down sale is a marketing tactic which is just what it says a 'sale', the store isn't actually closing down

          Advertising a closing down sale when the store isn't actually closing down is misleading advertising and illegal. Rather than pull down their misleading advertisement I'd suggest we would be better off reporting them to the appropriate regulatory authority.

        • -2

          @terrys:

          "compared Boy Wonder to a magistrate."
          No, they didn't.

          Might be my hick/bogan/beetroot level of comprehension but that reads very much like a direct comparison of the actions that started this conversation to the actions of a magistrate.

          "same text/image/shop window reference"
          Do you mean as in the same way magistrates keep referring to the same paragraphs over and over for the same crimes?

        • +1

          @OzBragain: "This isn't an English class "
          Ah - your main objection is that you get to make the rules.
          You are in for an interesting if somewhat frustrating life.

        • -2

          @terrys:

          The Comparison in the "magistrate" comment was that a post commented that a poster kept "same text/image/shop window reference"

          That you continue to push your barrow whilst publishing the same comment you utterly failed to parse tends me towards the latter.I base that on six decades of successfully dealing with fatuous blow-arses.

          Righto! I must bow to your superior intellect and social skills there tiger!

    The boxlots picture is of a

    It's also shown on the same Bosch webpage.
