      • -1

        when??
I still have A pay even on reinstall

        • Open up android pay, before your cards, there is an info card about this.

        • +2

          @jerjergege:

I just uninstalled A Pay, reinstalled G Pay and once installed from Google Play it had a an "Update" option, I updated and opened and it's now G Pay.

          Hope this helps.

        • @jerjergege:
mine has changed - last night I think: my Android Pay app has changed to Google Pay

        • I had to manually search for google pay on google play and press update for it to install.

        • +1

          @John Kimble:

Just got the update. 5.5mb. Google pay different from GPAY, so guys be careful. Didn't have to reinstall cards

        • @sn809:

I was just abbreviating, just double checked and mine is indeed "Google Pay" not GPAY.

    • +5

What even kind of a neg is this.

    • Sorry. I completely forgot that I posted this. Seems like everything is sorted now.

  • +1

My app still hasn't updated from Android Pay.

    • It should in the coming days (I just opened the Android Pay app and that's pretty much what it says for me). Just wait for the Google Play notification.

    • Just got the update from the Play Store, try refreshing your updates list.

    • Or simply sideload it if you can't wait

  • +3

    did Coles email that through?

    • +1

Yes I got the same email from flybuys

    • +2

everyone who has self control and likes getting points to get free stuff

  • +6

assuming if we've used android pay we're not eligible

    • Looks like the deal may be targeted to those who have not used Android Pay in the past.

      • i've used android pay and the deal came up on my flybuys account i'll test it see what happens

        • Cool, good to know!

  • +5

Just collect the points and don't use it again.

      • +6

Risk? Like carrying a purse or wallet?

        • +4

Like carrying a purse or wallet that requires a password or fingerprint to use. So actually much less risk…

        • +1

Let's just allow them to stick to their mid-century lifestyle.

        • @RimofLeo: Any cheaper for cash? I pay cash!

      • I would seriously like to understand why you wrote this comment.
I'd do much more riskier stuff for $20.

    • Just checked I got a similar email but with less conditions than yours.

Collect 4,000 BONUS POINTS on your first purchase using Google Pay with your eligible card* in-store at Coles, Coles Express, Liquorland or First Choice Liquor! That's $20 off your next shop when you redeem 4,000 points!

  • Does it need phone with nfc to work?

    • +3

      Yes or supported wearable.

  • Please make it clear that it's flybuys points?

  • Received the email so possibly targeted, good deal!

  • +19

Strange that Coles MC is not supported.

    • +1

Yes, pretty confusing strategy by Coles

      • +1

Coles Mastercard is a white label product by Latitude Finance (previously GE Money) and soon to be Citibank.

Theses institutions (as far as I'm aware) have not integrated Android/Google Pay.

  • didn't get anything :( looks targeted, I used to have android pay before I moved to iPhone (might I add android/google pay is far superior)

  • Just putting it out there, but, New Google play accounts

    • +1

I think you might be right… although somebody said they've used android pay and got the offer??

Well I guess I don't use this payment method at coles anymore, just in case my offer eventually comes.
I hate it when businesses ignore current customers when seeking new.

  • Never used Google Pay so have installed the app on my second phone to try. No email though.

  • not received

  • -3

They'll never be able to change your spending habits using marketing so allowing Google to see your grocery shopping totally won't result in you losing money down the line without any knowledge of it.

    Right guys?

    • +1

Coles doesn't provide level 2 or 3 credit card transaction processing.

Even if they did nether does google pay, that's up to your credit card issuer and they're isn't one consumer credit card I know of that does this as there's no point.

    • +1

      right.

Unless you'd let someone else tell you what you need, in which case Google doesn't need your info because you'd be easy prey to sell you anything.

  • how much is 4000 worth ?

  • +1

Can I have Google pay on Iphone?

    • +3

      You're stuck with Apple pay

    • +4

      lol what a question

  • +2

    Nothing for NAB - bugger!

    • oh, you just reminded me… that's why I didn't get offer - it's limited to particular banks

    • +1

Even the Coles Mastercard credit card does not have Android pay which is totally confusing!

  • targeted?

  • And iTunes misses out again oh the irony!

  • I been trying this all week on my Note 8 and nothing….

    • It's the same thing as android pay, install that and you'll upgrade to the new look app in a few days

      • And neither seems to work on my phone with a CBA card.

        • What card, what's the issue?

        • @spaceflight:
Normal CBA mastercard. Doesn't work on any tap and go.

        • @scuderiarmani:

You've set up the app, enrolled the card, the card shows in the app and the app is set as the default payment option (if Samsung pay is the default Android pay won't work unless you open the app and select the card)?

When you go to pay you unlock your phone?

  • I don't have NFC but happy to have my loyalty/membership cards all online now, thanks!

    • +2

Have fun waving your phone around woolies scanners, finding something to clean their glass, then trying again until you're totally embarrassed or those lines up behind you get restless.

I keep a photocopy of my cards as backup :)

      • Haha, I currently use Stocard, and I must be lucky as my local Coles/Woolies work fine (plus the operator can type them in in seconds if really needed)… the reason I think I'll like Google Pay better than Stocard is it's all stored online so I can sync them across all our phones forever :)

Also, I travel overseas a lot, I have about 60 cards I use regularly :)

        • +1

Stocard also has backup options if you create an account.

        • @John Kimble: yes, but I believe it only backs up manually (no sync) so I never bothered, seems more hassle than them just simply being in my Google account. Also, these apps tend to disappear a lot :)

But yes, I'll test it :)

        • +1

@nuchalis: I've got it backed up to my Google account? Or maybe it was transferred from my old phone…

  • anyone know when NAB will support it? have they said anything?

    • They appear to use their own

  • I wish Amex would get on board with this in Australia then I could do away with all my bank cards.

  • Just wondering if this is actually targeted. When I get a targeted offer email from coles the T&C usually includes

You have been specifically selected for this offer and it is not transferable. This offer has been sent to you by flybuys.

Can someone confirm if this is the case? I didn't see anything similar from @seanbaussie's post.

May be OP can share the link the "Activate Now" button on the email leads to.

    • May be OP can share the link the "Activate Now" button on the email leads to.

That will be a unique link.

Log into your account and see if the promotion is there to activate

  • No minimum?

  • Log into your account and see if the promotion is there to activate

It is not and it could be an unique link. But I recently received an email to 'top up your BONUS POINTS this week at Coles!' which said Collect 100x POINTS when you purchase any fresh corn from the Fresh Produce department at Coles. When I checked in my account I didn't see this offer but when I clicked on the activate button in the email it got activated and showed up under 'Active offers' in my account.

But you could be right, it could be a unique link. It is probably wishful thinking from my end given that the T&C doesn't seem to explicitly say You have been specifically selected for this offer and it is not transferable.

  • so i can buy anything and get the points? no minimum spend?

  • I got the email but still have Android pay icon?
    No Google pay?

    • Your app will update over the coming days

      • So unless APP says GOGGLE PAY….. Don't use the offer To it is updated?

        • I don't know.
It's the same app so either should work

        • Is that for Gogglebox?

          I'll let myself out.

      • I updated manually.

        • Received update today to GOOGLE😎

  • I have never used Android pay. Why I am not targeted?

    • Do you have flybuys?

  • +1

Got the email for this offer on the way home from work today. Since my android pay app updated this morning to GPay I headed to Liquor land and stocked up on beer. This is good stuff - got $20 back from Comm bank last year for using their Tap n pay also.

It's getting to point where I don't need to carry my wallet, storing loyalty cards electronically is great too.

  • Was thinking about getting an ING account to get the deal. Seems to be deals ATM if you deposit $1000 in your new ING account in a month you get $100. Need to do deals by 28 Feb though, so probably a bit late. Could wait until after 28 Feb to see if any new deals IDK.

    • -1

      Its $75 not $100

      • It would be great if you can share a link if there is a $100 offer

        • +1

It would be great if you can share a link if there is a $100 offer

I think it depends on referee, my reference gets $100 but it needs to be done by 28 so might be bit late now.

        • @phew: Ditto

        • @IMadeYouReadThis: understood. I guess the $75 one would be without a referral code

        • @trev likes bargains: No, different people have different amounts. It's zero without a referral. A while back mine was 75 for me/75 for my referral, before that it was 100/50, before that it was 75/75…changes.
