Thanks bought the Seiko Recraft Automatic SNKN69, it looks super good

Yes, it looks impressive. Go on, plus-vote, you know you want to really!

Seiko Recraft Automatic (Blue Dial) SNKN41 video review

  • +1

Looks like a watch trump would have worn in the 80s.

    • -1

Looks like the mood ring I used to wear in the 80s.

If youre a fan of the seiko with the green dial i recommend looking at the seiko alpinist.

It is still a budget friendly watch, automatic. One of my favourites to be honest.

    • +3

I agree, however, it’s about 6-7 times more expensive than this snkn69.

    • I've been looking for deals on this - 385 USD :'(

  • +2

Big watches though, need big wrists

  • +2

    Reminds me of the alpinist

  • +3

Scaled down poor mans version of this true classic

    https://watchesyoucanafford.com/seiko-alpinist-sarb017-revie…

    • More like scaled up with the alpinist being 38mm and this comes in at 45 :)

  • I thought it was the alpinist from the thumbnail pic… nice! The blue is nice too!

  • +6

Does it have a notification LE… Nevermind.

If I was going to get a recraft, it would have to be this one

    https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNKM97-Analog-Automatic-Stainle…

The green on that dial just pops

    http://forums.watchuseek.com/f21/seiko-recraft-snkm97-photos…

    • +1

DEFINITELY. I'm looking at either that one or the turtle. Both have a cool orange second hand too and would look even better on leather.

    • Another nice one!

  • THought was SEIKO alpinist as well…

  • what version bluetooth??

  • Is there a green themed female diver watch for a similar price? Asking for a friend.

  • +1

Voted. However, 7S26 is non hacking, so this is not for me.

    • +1

You can pause the seconds hand by slightly turning back the crown when adjusting the time.

So in other words once you have set the hour & minute, slightly turn the crown backwards to hold the seconds hand until you are ready.

      • TIL:

Watch hacking, otherwise referred to as the second hand halt mechanism or seconds stop function, is a feature that allows the watch wearer to stop the movement at will. It was especially useful and advantageous to synchronize watches during wartime.

TIL: Today I Learned. Often used as a space saver on websites such as Reddit or DIGG when writing the titles of links to interesting things the submitter has learned that day.

    • Just wondering why is hacking so important?

      • +3

It's not crucial or anything, just personal preference. I like to know how much a watch drift on a particular day according to usage.

        • It doesn't stop you checking this, but it makes it much more difficult.

      • makes it easy for you and your buddies to sync watches before pulling off a bank heist or going back to the future.

The turtle I linked above has the 4R36 - might be of interest.

      • Thanks buddy. I've been tossing between a PADI samurai and the F71 vintage dive project. They are pretty much the head to head, about half-a-grand, 4R35 vs NH35.

Still waiting for the prototype pics. The brown dial in particular…

        • I'd be hard pressed to make that decision.

        • +1

I really like the black dialed version. Has a real SM300 style about it, but still unique. Did they manage to find the manufacturer? I know a fair few people in the thread were put off by not knowing. My guess was Fullswing

          @ilikeit:

Yep. Ed is also based in HK. He's a top bloke btw. With him means QC and after sales won't be a concern.

But yeah… Even the pricing is the same as smaller NH35 based Armida, made by Fullswing.

        • +2

@doorknob: I don't mind that Armida A1. Will probably get a matte blue no date at some stage, but have a Borealis Estoril 300 on the way.

Inb4 who needs a watch when ya got a smartphone

  • +2

My Smart phone won't fit on my wrist….

  • But my smartphone is water proof…

  • this watch looks 10x better than my iP7 and it does not need a power bank
