Yeah, bit of a rip for EOL console that is well out of date.
Given the vast back catalogue of great games, easy hacking with CFW for emulation (and backups!), and much more portable formfactor, I think around $180-$200 new (and $100-$150 secondhand) is pretty fair.
I have a Switch, and absolutely love it! But I actually bought a secondhand New 3DS XL (two in fact!), and this was AFTER I bought my Switch! And I am thoroughly enjoying playing through games that I never got to play, and appreciate being able to slip it in my pocket to take with me in situations where I can’t or wouldnt want to take my Switch. Especially because I’m much more relaxed with the 3DS and don’t worry too much about babying it like I do my Switch!
Personally, I think a Switch and 3DS are great complements for each other, for me at least (YMMV, and things may change with VC and/or Homebrew on the Switch). I am very happy to have my SNES 3DS XL, in any case!
(I’d say they should be a little bit cheaper, at around $150ish for 2DS XL and maybe somewhere just under $200 for 3DS XL, is probably about right.)
Saw the same in Mt Ommaney QLD today. Didn't seem like that big of a deal but can confirm it's not just WA.
Clearance price is $10 and $16 off? Clearance for me is a minimum of 50% off. This would be better off on a Sale tag if anything.
