  • I have tried so many of these and none work. Will this one?

    • what did you use it for? some stuff needs HDCP, worth a google…

Go mechanical HDMI switching. It's the only way that will work properly with everything.
      Ebay Simplecom CM340.

You do lose the remote though.. but its worth in IMO.

      • No remote is fine. I just want to stop pulling out hdmi cables all the time. Thanks!
Have you used the mechanical one? Does it last?

        • I'm using it now.. because it is mechanical switching, it passes through all the signals through wiring which means it will just work with anything. I've had devices that didn't play too well with my previous HDMI switches because it didnt detect the right resolution modes, refresh or just plain didn't work (Black screen). This one worked with everything I've thrown at it to date.

Does it last? The reviews say so..

        • @bchliu: thank you sooo much for this suggestion!! I didn’t even know where to start looking. Thanks again.

@aussiebabe: See my comment/reply to cjb for two links you can get it at for <$30

      • Any idea if you can get a mechanical 4K model - even a 3 and 1 will suffice
Edit - apparently you one does 4K. Pricey though…

      • My Samsung UHD tv that has this ridiculous auto detect HDMI so switches don’t work correctly with it. And no way to turn the feature off

Try the Mechanical one. Very positive it will work because it is nothing more than a manual switch that swaps between four cable sources.

        • @bchliu: Yeah I’ll give it a go. Problem is the TV recognises which device is connected and saves it as the name of the device. Hopefully by keeping it plugged in it doesn’t do the refresh

        • @Quotationz: Well.. really, if you can hot-unplug and hot-plug an HDMI device into the TV, then there should be no issues. The Mechanical HDMI box basically does that - hot-plugging the devices on that port.

    • It must be crap. I tried the Antsig 5 port one from Bunnings and it worked. It's one of those automatic select ones with a remote control. But i only use it for my Blu-ray player, Steam Link, Xbox One S and Apple TV 4K.

  • I have a HDMI switch from Umart and it automatically selects the active HDMI.

  • Looks like the one on my desk from Target on cheap sale. Did not use the remote. Works well enough no complaints. Think I paid $12 from memory. When there are more than one active display, it shows picture-in-picture (PIP) so that you can select which display you want.

  • I bought a dual port HDMI splitter from Kmart and it didnt work. I bought this one and fingers crossed this should work. Thanks OP.

  • I bought one from Jaycar for a lot more than this. Works fine and had an optical out. Claimed to do 4k etc

  • Not recommend unless it supports HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. Normally, products which support them has much higher prices and need external power supply.

  • The EzyHD ones are excellent - I have the 5 x 1 model, and can highly recommend it:

  • Is there any signal degradation with these? I remember with analog switchers there definitely was.

With HDMI there's either a video picture or there isn't.

      • Makes sense I guess.
