          @StrayfireX:

          Me-yow.

    • DO NOT BuY THIS SIM expecting bonus data. Read my post below. I have live chat history emailed by Optus to prove that they don't give any data for this one otherthan 100 mins of calls when you add another $10 into it.

  • Perfect. In time for Easter hols.

  • What's the deal with multiple sims? Aren't you only supposed to only have a few in your name at one time? I've bought a few cheap sims in deals on this site over the past couple of years, but I can't even remember how many. Do they automatically remove your name/number if you don't use them for a period of time? I only use them for a month or two for these gb's specials, and then never use them again.

      Up to five I think.
Some sims expire after 6 mths of inactivity, others last up to a year.
I usually port from one to another with the cheap sims to avoid having too many active.

Usually expire after 6 months of no use.

    • Can I buy 4 of these and keep activating every week. Hope this 15 GB only last for 7 days.
I am in a terrible situation after agreeing to move on to NBN with TPG. Tried to activate NBN September last year but NBN never worked in the area and NBN confirmed that it won't be fixed until mid this year. However Stupid TPG disconnected my existing ADSL2 connection and phone line by their mistake.
Regardless of me calling them every day hours on phone TPG just keep saying unfortunate and can't do anything. They avoided calling me regardless I asked them to call me and schedule. That's a horrible experience.
Please suggest me ways to get cheap mobile data.

Off topic, I got a Optus iPhone SE for $299 from AusPost today.

Ive still got a few left from the 7-11 $1 deal.

Wow, and to think they're charging me $20 for going 2GB over my plan.

    • (profanity) same here, all thanks to Windows doing a sneaky update while i was tethered.

  • Good deal for those looking to port out then back in for the Telstra deals going around!

  • woolies servos in Qld have for $3 as well.

Perfect for in between kogan sims

  • How long does port take from Boost to this Sim?
Process ring them and port existing number in?
    No further payment required?
Then port existing number to Telstra deal?

  • Also available at Coles this week.

  • Well, it looks like SIM comes pre activated.

    • Then you bought the $2 starter kit.

      • Yes, I bought 3 of them at $2 each.
Sorry it's not activated. You have to select a plan when you activate to get the 10GB. Minimum you can select is $10 which brings your cost to $12 for 15GB, it's not 3.

        • Yeah the way that this SIM card gives you 15GB/7 days is that it's the SIM card + a $10 recharge in the same SIM for $3.

Sorry the bargain didn't work out for you.

  • I went through another shocking experience with Optus.

Still very hard to believe this one.

As I posted above, bought 3 sims from Auspost. Even in the box in store 15 gb data allowance was advertised everywhere around the box contained sim packs. The lady at auspost told me it didn't allow her to reload any mobey into it but they are active. So i just paid for sims. Then I bought abother optus wifi modem as well to use the sims.

Activattion didnt work on 10th as message said optus systems were being upgraded.

Activated on 11th morning. During activation also it memtion abt 15 gb data allowance. It force you to select and pay another $10 minimum which i paid and activated. Then tried to check balance installing my optus app and showed 0 balance. However credit card was charged by optus.

Tried troubleshooting and spend data to chat with optus wasting long time. Troubleshooting had consumed 500mb. Then it stopped giving any data. All stopped. Support girl said she fixed the issue not to worry I will get 15gb added by 12th morning. Wait for whole day on 12th and still nothing. Only thing the account shows is "the package expires on 18th"
Chat with Optus again this morning 13th. The girl said I won't get any data allowance as I bought this from Auspost but not online.
After spending on sim pack, activation charge, optus wifi modem, hours of data usage and calls to optus from other phone, I got nothing back. I asked her to send me the chat history. She only sent the chat I had today. Still that clearly said I dont get any bonus data. Then I said this is false advertising and stealing money from ppl. At the end she agreed to add 15gb and ended the chat. After 18 hours from that it still has no data.

Don't buy these optus SIM s you don't get anything back otherthan 500 mb that's not enough to talk back toboptus for troubleshooting.

As I am fighting to get my ADSL fixed from TPG I don't have enough stamina to fight Optus. I can forget the $50 I spent on optus on Saturday.

Hope someone would take them to court. Australian telecommunications is in a terrible state. Lots of 3rd world countries are way better.
