    Something about Chinese lumens…

    • +5

      300 chinese lumens = 120 actual lumens

      • Haha reminds me when buying computer speakers

        Pmpo vs rms lol

      • I'd be surprised it it was anywhere near that amount. It's coming from a single AAA battery. Those normally only store about 700mah, or 1.15 watt hours, assuming that the battery lasts 2h, that means it's pulling about 600mw, which would put it somewhere in the 30 lumen range.

    Do I need this? No.

Did I order it anyway? Yes.

This pays for someone’s college education in China! I do it for the kids.

      • And you do realise the kid going to the college is from a multimillionaire family driving a Ferrari.

        • Probably from their investments on the Gold Coast or Vancouver Canada

  • +3

Can I put it in my pocket?

    • +4

You could put 2 in your pocket

      • +5

Yes but doesn’t have as much street appeal as a giant maglite in your pants 😏

        • +4

The only street appeal I care about is from my fellow ozbargainers. Maybe if there are more maglite deals, I might consider getting one =)

I have one of these and it's a great little thing and a handy size. The lumens output is very dependent on the quality of the battery used. A new alkaline battery makes exceedingly bright output and lasts a long time for a one battery torch.

    • Does it come with a battery already?

  • I received mine from the last deal, theyre pretty decent. Only gripe so far is the bad lens. Mine has air bubbles all over it

  • +1

I got one last time round. Great compact torch for one battery. Very impressed.

  • All the lumens you will ever need in your life…

    • Or around 130 of these for the same price. Decisions, decisions

    Be aware!
When try to pay with PayPal after "Securely" logging me in they ask me to add a credit card details. And they are there in the PayPal account unchanged from the previous payment - a few days ago.

I have two accounts with zapals and on both of them some funny sniffing credit card details is going on.
So I am not able to buy anything unless I provide some credit card details.

    • me too

      • me also

    • I provide but still can't buy

      • Yep something dodgy going on.

The paypal address seems legit, but it's doing something screwy with the Zapals website.

Times like these i like 2 factor Auth.

        Sounds like marriage lol

      Don't think it's Zapals

      https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/About-Payments/Please-ad…

Following advice from above, I disabled JavaScript just before going to PayPal, which then processed payment successfully

      • I also couldn't get the Paypal purchase to complete at first. Using Noscript I turned off Javascript after the Paypal redirect, did the captcha, ignored the dire warnings that Paypal uses Javascript, and then the order went through successfully.

BTW has anyone figured out an easy way to order more than one torch at the bargain price?

        • Create one (two, three ….) more accounts. All you need is an email address. Keep the password the same…

I just checked it is still working.

  • I bought a heap of these from the last gearbest deal I think, less than $1 each. I used one the other night, walking back along a track - it's really good. The sort of torch I leave in my pack because it's small enough. I still have the phone as a backup.

I refuse to believe anything requiring a AAA battery is either eco-friendly or power saving. Don't product designers realise that AA batteries are not only more common, but they have more than twice the capacity!

  • -1

Don't wast your money, even 1 cent!
I paid 15 USD to buy 2 items, one item is cost near $10 dollar, but the quality is too bad, and the item can't charge anymore 3 days after I received. And it is not any customer service. It is my first order from Zapals, and never buy anything from this site again.

  • These are terrible, don't bother. The actual light output is next to useless… maybe good enough to find a keyhole to a front door, but that's about it.

Also, the advertisement is misleading. It does not use an AAA, it uses one AA.

    • +1

Yes, mine just arrived today and it's….barely worth the price. Also it uses AA instead of AAA as advertised, but that's actually a positive from me.

I prefer those zoomable Sipik-clones for just a bit more money from other Chinese sites.

  • Anyone receive theirs yet? I'm still waiting…

    • Yes see my comment above - I’m in Sydney
