I swear this icecream cost $7 full price a year or so ago so they could be had for $3.50 half price.
Who in their right mind would pay $10 for it?
Definitely not ozbargainers.
Last time I bought this was half price at $4.30 or so (so $8.60 full freight) and that was only a few months ago.
This is starting to look like the sort of product that is "always" going to be half price, but still ends up just a pricey as competing products.
It was $9 full price over 4 years ago, so no idea where you saw it for $7…

I'm sorry but this stuff is horrible. They've done something to it. It's like it's made of crushed ice now. I couldn't finish the last one I bought. I reckon a lot of these regularly discounted items are actually worth what they charge at discounted prices. It's a scam. I won't downvote it because it is half price but you'd he mad to pay 10$ for this or even $5.
There's a strong possibility that it may have been unfrozen and then refroze. As far as I'm aware they did not change their recipe
I remember reading a LPT about pushing the lid of ice cream and if it's solid, it's been properly stored but if it depresses, it's been refrozen
yes, when it melts, it collapses in the centre as they whip air into it during the initial churning and freezing process, when it thaws out, the weight of the ice cream at the top pushes down, air rises to the top ……
Also give it a good squeeze on the sides to make sure it's nice and solid and ready for the trip home ….. incase they the freezer guy just got it into the fridge after leaving in the aisle too long….. reckon sometimes either the fridge is broken or they left the ice cream on the trolley before going to lunch.
same recipe , bad handling and storage leads to melt and refreeze, but also people who don't make it the last item into the trolley, and it melts on the way home…. I surround my ice-cream with the other frozen or chilled items e.g peas, chip, mild, etc so it has a pleasant journey home.
