    Rx100m3 for $538. Last one.

  • So there's 10% off all Sony items if it's $200 or more + 5% off with the Pick5 discount… Am I missing something or doesn't that equal 15% not 14.5%?

Sony HTRT5 Soundbar 5.1 Channel Audio System for $563.82. Selling at JBHifi for $1199 right now. By my strange maths that should be over 50% off :)

      It's your math.

      Product is $200

10% off via the ebay discount; product is now $180

      PICK5 which is the paypal coupon applies to checkout total ($180), not $200. (0.95 * 180 = 171)

      14.5% discount, not 15%.

Applies to all stackable coupons as well if it uses the balance totals rather than the purchase price totals.

No it's EBay maths! That sucks they can't even give you a full discount. I know it's only .05%
Even for that soundbar package still works out to over $8 more.

It's not really eBay maths, it's just how discounts work when stacking.

When a store is having a 50% off sale, then they say take an extra 50% off at checkout with coupon HALFPRICE, you know you aren't getting the product for free, you are getting it for 75% off the original marked price or 25% of said price.

Stacked discounts means the lower down the chain, the less value said percentage has.

This is a 10% off sony sale on ebay. The PICK5 coupon is 5% off your cart total not including postage, >$300 and max $x discount.

It's 14.5% off the original ticketed price; they never say 15% off anywhere :)

MorriJ took the time to explain in detail why you were wrong but you still don't get it. This isn't eBay maths, or Sony maths, or magical maths but this is basic fundamental maths that should have been learnt in primary school.

Our failing education system is part of the reason why this country produces nothing anymore.

  • Anyone know if I should grab these? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/282503697683
