My experience at Sea World resort was good when I went recently, the price was excellent and the room was quite nice. However, sea world itself was terrible.. the only thing worth seeing was the dolphin show and penguins, but the polar bear was lying there by himself looking so sad..

On the other hand, movie world was awesome so made up for it. Coming from someone who's been in Brisbane their whole life they should just let SW die, it's really not somewhere worth going anymore..

So whoever gets this deal, focus on going to the other parks and leave SW last on your priorities, even if it's next door it really doesn't have much to offer.

Sea World is my least favourite of the 4 parks, but our kids absolutely love it, and I disagree with your comment of letting it die :/ Even though it is my least favourite park, I still have a great time seeing my kids have a great time there. Plus being at Southport, it’s so close to a lot of other things to do and see after you’re done (not that Oxenford is far away, but driving around the GC these days is not fun).

    • SeaWorld is my favourite of the parks as I have very young children. Different demographic than MovieW and WandW.

      They are better for teenagers.

      • I hate seeing sad polar bears. Demand full refund and shipping them to Antarctica. With couple other polar bears!

        • Where they would probably be a bit lonely since polar bears are from the arctic. Should do alright for food though since they will have the whole place to themselves.

        • @paulinspace: yep that was the idea! Soon there will be heaps of them :)

  • Any direct link to the deal? I can't seem to find it on their website.

  • Does anyone know if it’s possible to change departure to ADL or would I need to get a flight to Sydney first?

  • When you follow the link it allows a change. I can change it to fly out of cairns.

  • Thought I should mention that SeaWorld Resort sometimes cost (relative) peanuts (~$60 a night) during weekdays in May and Jetstar flight specials are likewise very common in winter. I don't know about theme park passes though so that may seal the deal. If this deal includes weekends then it would be amazing value.

    • It says “add an extra $23 per person, per package for weekend stays”

Loved our recent trip under the $119/night bargain.
Our total cost including flights and car hire for a 3 day 2 night trip, 4 of us, was $750. So this deal is probably comparable.

As far as the parks go, for a 6 and 8 year old, movie world was a bit limiting because there are only a few rides for them. Scooby doo was about it, everything else was too tame or too scary/>140cm. But it was perfect for dad ;)

Their fav ride of all parks was the storm coaster at sea world. Went round and round on that one. The park is a little sad though, not what I was expecting, though they loved the penguins.

Wet and wild had plenty for them, and it was so damn hot one day it was just a relief getting wet. Be warned that a lot of the rides worth doing require heavy inflatables to be carried up a lot of stairs. I honestly don’t think my wife could’ve done it and the kids certainly couldn’t. So I got a good workout. Spotted tiny Asian ladies waiting at the bottom of stairs for a knight in shining armour to assist on several occasions.

  • Sea world resort was surprisingly really good. Kids 8 and under have an absolute blast. Good deal.

  • Nice deal. September is still a bit too cold though.

  • no shamu splash zone :(

  • Is there a way to accommodate 5th person (e.g. a kid) in the deal by paying extra?

  • Does anyone know if it's unlimited entry to the 4 theme parks during your stay?

What I mean is can I say go to Movieworld for 2 separate days?

    • Yes all parks unlimited in and out access

I rented a car through jetstar along with our flight booking. It was $73 for 3 days, a new Toyota Corolla. That was exactly what we were quoted for a shuttle too.

Bear in mind that movie world and wet and wild are about a 25 minute drive from the sea world accommodation and resort. You need a car if you want to hit these parks.
