Dell XPS 13 9360 i7 8GB Ram 256GB QHD+ $1608 @ JB Hi-Fi

110

Original Bargain: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/365260

I was just going through the computers on offer for the current JB sale and saw this XPS. There have been a few deals up here for refurbs but none have had the QHD+ Screen. Only down side being the previous gen processor, although it is an i7.

That is an i5 + FHD compared to an i7 + QHD at JB.

  • It's time to 8th CPU now. The 8th CPU have great improvement compare with 7th CPU.

    • are they better than a pentium 4 overclocked to 4GHZ?

        8th times better

Refurbished units with same spec (i7-7500u) are available for $1439 from the Dell outlet store.
With this bargain, you pay ~ $170 more for a new unit - YMMV.

    • Think twice about the quality. !!

      Large amount of repairs apparently

      • Some of them are overstocked items and in as-new condition. They aren't all defective products which have been repaired.

        • What do you mean by overstocked? Why don't they sell it as brand new.

I thought Dell just manufacturer by order.

        • @leexm101:
I'm just going by what they say. The outlet sells overstocked and refurbished items.

          "What are pre-configured new systems?
A Pre-configured new systems are as new notebook and desktop computers and enterprise products that have never been used by an end user but may have been reconfigured by Dell. Dell pre-configured new systems do not have any cosmetic damage."

I assume this is what they mean by overstock.

        • They will be listed as either refurbished or new. The ones listed currently are refurbished.

    • You can get refurbished 8th gen i7, qhd+ touch screen, 512gb for similar price from the US. ~$1700

  • $1918.99 direct from Dell so this is a pretty good deal - http://www.dell.com/au/p/xps-13-9360-laptop/pd?oc=sma511092a…

Non QHD model is $1499 currently - http://www.dell.com/au/p/xps-13-9360-laptop/pd?oc=z511291au&…

  • use union pay credit or debit card, could get 11% rewards.
by the way, must open the account in china only.
the max for the reward is about 120aud.

  • Got a message from Dell that my 9730 needs a new battery due to battery swelling issues. Haven't seen an issue so far, so wondering how long that offer will last, since the battery is non user replaceable and it would be good to extend the life of it a few years.

    • Regarding the battery issue, how is Dell going to handle the replacement - do you need to ship the unit to Dell or will they replace it at your doorstep?

How has your 9370 experience been otherwise? Any coil whine or other issues?

My xps 9370 is being shipped currently and I'm just curious as to what I should expect with my new machine. It's a pity that Dell still hasn't managed to get their quality control right. These machines are beautiful otherwise.

      • My battery doesn't last long, and it's not the quickest machine in the world (I have an m5) however I like the machine otherwise, hasn't skipped a beat. Fell off a stool the other day and not a scratch.

They will come to us and do it, and there's no time limit set on when that will expire, it's 1 year into a 3 year warranty, so I figure I am having no issues maybe do it at the 2.5 year mark

Edit:just checked and mine is actually a 7370, but form factor is almost identical so battery issues should be checked for this model IMO

        • Looks like you've got the Latitude 7370. Nevertheless, thanks for your reply.

        • @nhylated: yeah I mentioned that, they are almost identical side by side so I imagine it may share components with the XPS.

    Dang.

If only they'd do this 30% off after the white XPS 2018 releases.
