    Just did quick calculation on costs vs getting a cheap prepaid plan…

    Kogan plan 2 for 1 plan (6GB @ $12/month) = $288 (over 24 months).

    So basically paying $1128 for a phone, plus getting the ability to pay it off over a long term.

    Those numbers seem right to me?

      Except that it's for over twice the data on a far better network. Compare 15-20gb on Telstra Network for an accurate comparison.

        It's so ridiculous that you can speak to a handful of reps and they all have different answers!

        Had to jump through so many hoops to get this deal, I had 2 contracts with Vodafone that I wanted to port, I did one last week for the Pixel 2 XL deal. And as I am a "new customer" they wouldn't allow me to port the other number.

        Had to call Vodafone to change the ownership to my partner's name and then do numerous chats with Telstra till I spoke to someone who said it was in stock. Finally just had it sorted.

        Any way that is my rant for the day. Lol

    It really is amateur hour at Telstra. I chatted to 3 online reps, two said no iPhone 7+ deal, one said yes. Niece went to 3 telstra stores in Qld, two said no deal and the 3rd said yes. Third time lucky it seems. IMO pathetic.

      I just went into the Bourke Street flagship store to get the Pixel 2XL BUT they are out of stock and apparently so it the entire state of Victoria…
      In terms of how long, they said this has been going for months and that today was just the addition of the iPhone 7's (apostrophe added due to it looking like another model otherwise…)

        From what I was told earlier from the online chat, Telstra is phasing out the iPhone 7 models and looking to clear all stocks. Whether that is true or not who knows!

          Would make sense. I can't see the Pixel 2XL being EOL already though… maybe just not selling as many as they thought or they can't get them in anyway so put them on the deal so people come in?

    So I just went into the Telstra store opposite Apple in Sydney, asked to sign up the $59 friends and family plan. I got a iPhone 7 Plus Rose Gold 128gb. They only had that in 128gb, or 32gb in Black.

    Just got a message saying "We'd like to conform you are now on a Shared Data plan. Your monthly shared data allowance is 20.00GB. There is 1 service in your shared data group who may use this data allowance"…

    20GB!!!

    oh i would've LOVED this. I changed to virgin just last week for 12 months. This is awesome. Wish they had a 14 day trial of service so you could cancel your SIM only contracts :-( Would love Telstra and a new phone…

    Easier to search on gumtree for a better values iPhone.

    Got an brand new iPhone 8+ 256gb space Gray shrink wrapped for $750.

    Currently on ALDI prepaid for $250 a year. 4gb data each month.

    I don't use so much data. So does not bother me.

    ^above plan ends up being much cheaper.

    The Morley Galleria Telstra store has stock of the iPhone 7 Plus and 7. Was told shipment of about 20 are coming in for Monday 128GB and 32GB. Consultant in store said that its mostly Rose Gold and Black as other colours are EOL or low stock and to email or book an appointment as they can get busy.

    I asked him to check other stores. He could only check company stores and no one else had much ,1 or 2. (WA)

        Picked up a iPhone 7 128GB black and an iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB for the missus at Telstra Morley. Porting from optus. Asked and they had about 30 of each with more coming.

        They were busy as S9 POBOs had arrived so probably best to call them or book an appointment online

          I checked my order at Telstra this morning and it was changed to back order and after chatting with a Telstra rep they said I will have to wait 2-3 weeks. So i went into Westfield and found the phone at JB Hi Fi and I cancelled the order with Telstra and signed up today. It was just easier that way…

        I think its only JB, Telstra said cant be done with them since its limited edtn and most likely no stock. ACT have a couple reds as well as VIC. I got it from NSW though..Oh, btw some JBā€™s in Sydney are saying no stock for all iPhones, but most likely they are on hold for their ā€˜Friends and Familyā€™.. be nice and persistent you might get lucky.. :)

    Wasted a couple of hours at Doncaster on Sunday over this deal trying to buy a phone for my son. He wanted the iPhone 7 rather than the plus as he reckons the plus is too big. After 20 mins at JB hifi waiting for help, the salesperson finally came back from the back and said they had no stock. He said he could order it from elsewhere though. I said I'd rather get one today so went to Telstra. Big mistake. Spent 45 minutes at the Telstra shop, had a iPhone 7 32Gb and sim card in my hand, but the final step of the contract process wouldn't go through. After much stratching of multiple heads, the Telstra rep finally worked out the deal didn't apply to the iPhone 7 32Gb, only the 128Gb. Bizarre. They had heaps of 32Gb models, but no 128Gb. And they wouldn't do the 32Gb in the deal eventhough its obviously a much cheaper model. Again I leave empty handed. Go back to JB hifi thinking that I can order one from them. Waited for another 20 mins for a salesperson. Finally get someone, who this time searches the network and says no one has iPhone 7 stock anywhere. Again leave empty handed and swearing under my breath.

    Go home, jump on live chat with Telstra ready to give them both barrels, but get a friendly salesperson who says the 128Gb version is in stock and all is completed after a 10 minute chat. Should have done that in the first place. Phone is arriving tomorrow. Very good deal.
