        Are you two brothers?

        • +1

          Long lost probably. ;D

    • -1

I think these are on sale at JB HiFi atm.

  • +9

Love the landing page, if they went in on a 43" offer, I'd be keen

  • +19

Dedicated Landing Page - Pure Awesomeness!!

  • Thats awesome TA keep up the good work mate !

  • +87

Just a heads up in a month or 2, the word is these TVs might be heading for a major drop in price according to my source who was right about the $1000 drop in the LG 65" oled in December https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/5400278/redir. Whoever read my comment saved themselves a nice $1k.

    YMMV

Edit: to whoever is negging this comment, I'm trying to save you a pile of cash. If you guys don't want inside information, I'll keep it to myself next time.

    • +3

I am putting all my eggs in that basket. I predict the KD55X9000E under 1,250 bucks.

      • +4

Be careful talking about eggs on here.

        • You got discount on ovaries?
          Is it [Targeted] ?

        • +3

          Did somebody say eggs?

I personally pay the extra for cage free, free range, 50 chicken per hectre, farm-fresh eggs.

        • Easter eggs, mate

        • +3

@Lorindor: I used to personally pay extra for my eggs too if I know they're good. Green supermen, mitsi's and gold rolex's were always good.

      • -1

It was 1276 at Good Guys eBay last Friday

        • +1

apparently, it was a mistake. someone there listed the old price from the previous sale. I put the tv in my cart, applied the discount and went to gents. 10 min later, out of stock and I lost that deal. =P

        • +4

          @terrakio:

Ah, another victim of BBBB (Bladder/Bowel Bargain Bungle).

    • +10

Actually in a month or 2 you there may be no stock left. Thats the reason for these sales.

      • +1

I actually think they are using ozbargain to sell as much as they can at this inflated price before the potential price drop kicks in

        • +7

Supply vs Demand. Why would they price drop if they can sell heaps at this price point? The demand seems high as seen by the interests on the posts.

        • +3

Most people are voting for poster and ozbargain landing page

        • Although you are correct if you look online of their stock number certain models have sold out. not sure if they will get more stock or if that is it. Also Have a look at what they did last year. Very similar trend

    • The x9000f and other Sony "f" series TVs are due out this month (OS anyway) so your source may just be alluding to clearance of the "e" series.

    • +7

The previous KD49X8000D model only ever dropped to dropped to $888 last year, that deal got 16969 clicks and afterwards the model was all gone and never seen again on ozbargain

This KD49X8000E model has probably already sold plenty, considering that the $899 deal last month got 11736 clicks and this deal is already at 2119 clicks. It's an excellent price, I wouldn't risk waiting further if you are after one.

      • +2

I'm going to say that a good percentage of those clicks are purely because TA posted another deal and he's the unofficial site mascot.

        • Heaps of Sony deals have been front paged without TA posting them. Even one from our dear EC. Sony are popular.

        • +1

          @Clear:

          Sony are popular.

Without a doubt, but let's don't pretend that a lot of the interest comes from members just wanting to join in on TA deal.

      • -2

        As I said YMMV

        • I can't even think of what YMMV may mean?

        • @Godric:
Your mileage may vary. Not really used in the right context here.

    • If you can advise when Sony A1 range will drop in price. Kudos to you!

    • Sweet, i will clench my checks and wait - I'm really after the KD55X9300E. I can handle the wait

    • If you're wrong… I'll find you, and spank you.

  • +3

    What about the KD49X9000E?

    • Thats what I was hoping for as well, Just sold the old new Sony ready for the next one!

  • Link isn't working for me.

  • +7

If sony is really keeping tabs, how about deals for the 65" and 75"? :)

  • Thanks TA :)
Awesome having a dedicated landing page.

  • This is awesome. Nice work mate.

  • We love you too Sony!

  • +9

Gotham city has Batman. OzBargain has Tightarse.

  • +4

+1 for the effort TA, thanks.

  • +1

Can't wait for a good deal on a 65 inch! Does anything think they will do a great deal on OLEDs?

    • +1

      waiting for Oled as well

  • +1

finally back in stock. and free shipping. thx!!
i just wish i had the money.

  • +1

    That banner is pretty cool.

  • +1

This is a pretty good deal. Thanks TA

  • really cool page, impressive, absolutely love it.

  • +1

    65” please!!!

  • Not interested in the TVs but upvoted anyways because of epic landing page.

    • +5

Reported to the mods, invalid upvote.

      • What, I'm not allowed to appreciate a deal because of its presentation?
It's a good deal, I just don't have the money.

        • According to the Voting Guidelines that's correct.

          Positive Vote
Please refrain from voting when it's not a good deal but has a funny picture or coupon, good description, you like the poster or any other element that is not related to the deal itself.

But relax, you can't really report for an invalid upvote. It was a joke.

        • @WatchNerd:

No worries, bad day at work. Taken my pills today.

  • Nice one ta, Sony ozbargain'd

  • Great work, TA!
Well done Sony, for the landing page. Just recently got a 55x8500 else I might’ve pulled the trigger on this.

  • +1

Good to see a major manufacturer with a sense of humour.

  • Ah thanks for reminding me, my 9300E that I got from the previous deal has developed a vertical line and needs a service call already.. a month old. Winning.

  • I'm curious if the viewing angle has improved on these models. I have the 43X8000D and the viewing angle is atrocious, both vertically and horizontally. You move only slightly off-axis and the picture goes to hell.

  • That 50Hz refresh rate would keep me away from it, i don't think it's HDR10 either - it does say it has HDR but not what type.

  • "The link you clicked on is malformed. Contact the editor of the originating page."

  • +2

LOL at the shoutout to jv

  • X8000E doesn't have HDR does it? I want to have a new TV to use PS4 Pro on. Not sure if its good enough

    • Sure does.

    • you will have to ask sony. Anything below 400nits is not HDR and there are different levels. 400nits is the minimum. 1000nits is decent.

HDR also has other requirements like 10bit color and certain color gamut requirements. Anyt tv/monitor that doesn't meet these requirements is not true HDR but manufacturers advertise it as HDR anyway. It will do HDR but wont be as good.

      • You sound like an expert. I guess only the D series is worth looking at. but It's misleading us to think its HDR with that heading…

  • +3

Hoenstly at almost $1800 for a 55 LCD you would have to consider the Panasonic OLED which was around 1880 a few weeks back.. wouldn't you?… As good as this top spec LCD is surely can't come close to a OLED..

    • +1

The LCD is over twice as bright. That matters to some people (HDR lovers and bright room owners).

    • Other than black levels which is pretty close to OLED. The X9300e does everything just as well if not better than OLED. The brightness is ridiculous and it's literally like day and night when comparing this TV with basically any other model. It's nickname is "The Light Canon"

  • is this supposed to be a good deal for a tv?

    • +5

Yes, tv deal good. Me upvoted.

      • +1

        good luck

  • The KD49X8000D has a.much better picture than the E. The build quality on the e is also less than the d

  • +4

worst company to deal with for warranty issue. stay away.

    • +1

I was about to post this. Not worth the stress.

      • agree. lost 3 months time of my life never get it back.

after 3x fixing but still broken they want to fix my speaker again for the 4th time.
this is for 2 months old purchase.

        • Had a similar experience years ago. Did you buy directly through Sony or through a retailer?

        • @Jawanzar: direct

        • @dragonindespair: If it's the same problem and they're trying to repair it for the fourth time is it worth asking for a refund?

        • +1

@Jawanzar: of course I asked for refund after 3x repair in 2 months but they insisted to repair again so I reported to tio or ACCC and sony melted like butter in summer.

        • @dragonindespair: Fair enough. Sounds like you've got it sorted then; I thought they were going to repair it again but they're giving you a refund?

  • Love the reference to "80K high yield investment" OZBargain page.

  • Keen for a 43" deal as well, lack of these lately.

  • Where are the detailed spec? like color gamut, brightness etc ?

  • Sony doesn't list any of the panel specs.. the hisense ones are most likely better when you look at the specs..Hisense was also cheaper at $795.

  • +1

Are there ever any deals on the A1 65" OLED?

Also, has anyone had any experience with that model?

  • Why do my TVs always breakdown just before the next big thing. I missed affordable 1080p by a year, 32" 720p for a nearly decade. Tv dies and $8-900 for 43" 1080p, a short time late 4K+HDR+bigger for the same price…. sigh.

  • +2

The price on the x9300e is great and only seen before as part of EB games discount if you bought the PS4 pro. I would say the lowest this set will go is $1500 even with the new models out in a couple months time. Jbhifi haven't advertised this model for sale anymore, only the 65 inch now. Definitely a worthy buy, as other than minimal blooming on black bars for HDR content. This is as good as it gets for a TV. Highest brightness and easily best HDR set of the year.

    • -1

The 55x9300e has been selling at Sony Kiosks in Sydney for $1788 or so since Feb or before (last verified by me on 1/3 when I bought the 65x9300e from them for $2500 delivered πŸ˜†).

      • Maybe they had a one off sale for a few days. But they need to have the same prices as the online store for RRP. No way they would undercut Sony online by near $1000! The 65 inch x9300e at the Sony store right now is on sale for $3500!? You are dreaming and confusing it with the x9000e.

        • No dream. The 55x9300e has had a nice sale sign on the front for $1788. And, yes, I have the 65x9300e. Same price as another guy on Whirlpool who bought from Sony kiosk in Castle Hill. Even better it effectively only cost me $1500 cos samsung fullly refunded me $1000 for my defective 6 year old plasma that they couldnt fix.

      • +1

        post pics of receipts
if true then maybe @TA can work a better deal??

  • Is this TV worth sacrificing an inch over the Samsung U6100 deal that was before?

    • Are you referring to the 55X9300E? If yes, then the Sony TV is much superior to the Samsung U6100. I would buy this Sony TV any day over the Samsung 6100.

      • Nah the similarly priced KD49X8000E

    • +2

Not too much difference between them. IPS panel for Sony which has a lot worse contrast but a little better brightness. Bad viewing angles and not the best screen uniformity on Samsung but better blacks. Flip of the coin really - I guess whatever you get a great deal for.
