Strictly while stock lasts. Backorders may not be fulfilled.

Also available in your nearest Sony Kiosk.

    • +1

Deals start at 5pm not 7pm I believe and a lot of stuff will likely sell out quickly

  • +4

Does that TV actually sell for $2099 or is it a chemist warehouse situation?

    • +1

Bit like a Hardly Mormon 'sale'

      • +1

Buy it before the end of days! With sixty months interest free!

      • +1

        I thought it's "Hardly Normal"?

    • It drops to $999 when it's on sale. If you missed the previous sales, then it might be worth it

    • $1,236.25 at sony ebay

    • normally $999. But it is an excellent TV, very good value at $888..

      • Yeah I paid $1k and got $100 cashback, it's a great value 4k TV.

        • +1

Is yours painfully slow like mine?
I don't know why but it takes a good 5 seconds for the damn thing to register anything from the remote.
God forbid changing from tv to netflix… that's nearly a 10 second wait.
I must admit the screen is good though.

        • @kinpe: no I don't think so, have you updated it?

        • +1

@kinpe: yep mine is too. its cos it uses a low end Mediatek CPU and GPU. if you read the manual, it tells you to wait 60 seconds after everytime you turn the power switch on - that is why. has absolutely nothing to do with updates.

Difference between the 49 and the 43 inch is that the 49 has an IPS panel so pretty good viewing angles on the side, while VA can get darker blacks head-on (in the 43 inch)

Wish the PS4 Pro was on sale…

    • +4

I wish something good was on sale full stop. Percentage discounts off inflated RRPs that no one actually sells them at isn't much of a bargain compared to usual prices elsewhere.

    • ps4 pro already on sale in other retailers and it will continue until new xbox release. and if the new xbox comes dead, ps4 pro will never discount again :D

  • +6

Their usual hard to sell rubbish. Good luck getting those sought-after cameras on this so-called "frenzy" sale.

    • +2

Would be bad business to put items that are sought after on sale when they sell pretty well at regular price?

  • Headphones any good? Compared with Xiaomi IV hybrids which I managed to step on. Considering the Sony's are on Amazon for under USD$10 I'm guessing not great.

Edit: amazon ones were 110 not 150 so not the same

    • Very average sounding. Can do much better for $23. I got a pair for $7 back in the Sony "Box Damaged sale" here and the $25 survey gift voucher, and that's all I'd say they're worth. The IV's will be much better sounding, as will the KZ ATR's if you don't mind the fit.

  • I think the sale starts on 7pm as per the blue banner at the top of the page

    • +1

active now, price updates in cart

      • Oh cool, thanks Mouski!

  • Yes active now - price updated in cart - bought the 49" KD49X8000D with free delivery $888

  • Any reviews for the EX150AP earphones?

  • +7

The old " up to " sale.

Where 1 item noone wants is 70% off and everything else stays the same.

  • Was hoping for better than a $12 discount on this http://store.sony.com.au/HTCT800.html

  • I'm not seeing the sales prices on the TVs. What am I missing?

    • +1

add to cart and prices go down.

    • +1

      Discounts in cart.

Savings are OK, the 49" is over $100 cheaper than previous sale, but I am fairly sure the 43" was going for $799 and they also had a $50 coles gift card bonus, and in this sale only discounted to $777 so not much better.

  • +1

hmmm I'm tempted to jump on the $299 PS4 with extra controller. Surely Sony is well stocked for me to wait until 7pm for other deals to present.
To wait or not to wait..

  • -1

Anyone know of any promo code for additional discounts?

  • Anything good or is it usual click frenzy rubbish no one wants?

  • Can KD49X8000D 4K HDR TV be used to play PC games without much input lags? Is its HDMI 2.0 with 4k 60Hz?

      • +1

        Input Lag

        1080p @ 60Hz : 33.3 ms
        1080p With Interpolation : 49.1 ms
        1080p @ 60Hz Outside Game Mode : 49.0 ms
        1080p @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 : 33.3 ms
        4k @ 60Hz : 35.3 ms
        4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 : 35.3 ms
        4k @ 60Hz + HDR : 33.2 ms
        4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 + 8 bit HDR : 33.2 ms

The input lag of the Sony X800D is quite low, which is good. To get the lowest input lag, select the 'Game' or 'Graphics' picture modes. This results in a lag of 33.3ms with an 1080p resolution, which should not be an issue for most people. When sending an HDR signal at 1080p, the input lag remains the same as under 'Game' or 'Graphic' mode.

    • Most TVs have major input lags compared to monitors.

It would have to be HDMI 2.0. They'd be crazy to stick to 1.3.

  • What else can Ps4 be used for besides only games?

    • DVD's and Blu-rays. Can use it to stream Netflix too.

      • I already have a sony smart TV. Can one put plex or a media server on ps4?

        • Plex is available for download

        • @PR0r: can I transfer mk4 file on to the PS4?

        • @Gavman: No idea, what's mk4?

        • @PR0r:

I'm guessing Gavman means MKV file format.

        • @brotherrfranciz: YES sorry, typo… ?

  • no tablets :<

  • RX100 mark IV for $999. Is that a good price?

  • LOLOL

  • Thinking of jumping on the 43" X8000D, anyone had any good/bad experiences?

    • same ….any opinion on using the 43" X8000D 4K HDR TV as computer HDR monitor?

    • +4

The panel may not survive that sort of treatment.

  • Seems their sale is 'Free shipping' for something I can buy $277 cheaper from Amazon, not much interesting here.

  • +2

    Thats nothing 9 news promises 4k tv's for $25 and xb1 or ps4 for $4, a Donut shop for $1 LOL

    • +2

yeah dumb news, we all know it.

  • what a joke

  • What's the quality of the sony portable speakers like?

  • +1

Thanks !! Picked up the 49" but have not received the cashreward email .. fingers cross..
