Ozito Power X Change 18V Cordless 4.0Ah Blower Kit $99 @ Bunnings

140

Has been this price for a month but was previously $149 pricehipster. Bunnings also sell the same blower with a 2Ah battery for $119, so I consider this a bargain.

  • How does this compare to Roybi?

    • +1

Probably similar in terms of performance. However don't expect these to move a lot of air. The air speed is impressive but it all comes out of a tiny nozzle. Even the larger 'jet' versions are no match for any ordinary corded blower. But having said that it is handy for blow drying your car!

Have owned this machine for a few months now and I use it to blow leaves and dirt around the house and I can say it does the job nicely for me. I don't necessarily want or need the strongest blower because I don't want everything to be blown away (like bark chips or soil in the garden) or make too much noise. With a 4amp battery it will last maybe 15-20 mins so it's enough for a couple of use before recharging. I have bought other Ozito power tools lately (eg. high pressure cleaner) and I'm impressed with the quality and the exceptional value.

I have this. Does the job around the house & plenty of power for my needs.

Cheaper than Ryobi, which I personally don't like. Bought their gear & found it impossible to buy spare parts. Probably same with Ozito.

An old man was trying to buy a replacement Ryobi charger for his batteries the other day and the Bunnings team member tried to explain to him that Ryobi no longer made the charger & best try his luck with Ryobi direct. He has to most likely throw his drills away.

I think Ozito warranty might be longer than Ryobi.

If I'm not mistaken, Ryobi Warranty is 12/24 months (tool/accessory dependent).
Whereas the Ozito Power X Change gear is 5 years on tool (incl. chargers) and 3 years on battery.
The Ozito brand used to be a 1/2 step up from the supermarket/dept. store brands like Pope etc.
They seem to have come a long way since I last bought one of their tools a few years ago.
I'm waiting for their cordless tools to be discounted against Aldi so I can grab a bunch of skins.
c'mon Aldi put your cordless tools on special again so I can get my Ozito gear cheaply

      • Actually Ryobi One+ warranty is 6/2 years for tool/battery.

        • Well then, clearly I was mistaken.

        • @rayski57:
Lol - but total agreement on the current range of 18V ozitos. I'm pretty happy with my brushless drill and rotary hammer. Plus my brother has a set of their gardening tools so I can borrow his skins when I need them :). Like you I'm waiting for another aldi sale to pick up another 4Ah battery!

        • @gadget: I was given the 150mm circular saw kit as an early b'day pressie.
Not impressed by the motor shaft slop that translates to blade edge lateral deflection of a few mm.
Makes it good for ripping and cutting MDF, but not for good timber.
I took it back and got the recip saw, angle grinder and the fast charger/1.5ah battery combo for an extra $4.
Now waiting for sales to kit up with other skins and some decent batteries.

    • Must have been older model drill for the charger to have been discontinued. The Ryobi One+ range is probably what ended whatever the guy was trying to replace. I have stacks of Ryobi One+ stuff, including the blower that I got via a deal posted here for $99. Now that was a bargain! And yeah, if they ever make the One+ range EOL, I will be severely pissed off to say the least. lol

    • Is that right? Ryobi is the one cordless tool manufacturer who never changed their battery mount when they switched from Ni-Cad to Li-Ion.

    • The new charger will charge the old batteries…..

  • +1

Ozito it seems is now owned by a German company Einhell.
So if it was discontinued here you could probably still buy spare batteries etc from overseas.

I have the hedge trimmer, grass trimmer and blower along with the fast charger.
Seems decent quality for the money.

    • That's interesting - I have an Einhell cordless screwdriver I bout from Bunnings a while back.

    • I know a guy who 3D prints adapters, currently does Aldi battery to Power X Change tool adapter for around $20.
So can breathe life back into EOL gear that way if it comes to it

  • Let's hope the One+ will stick around. I feel for you come the day.

Disposable nation. I never thought I see the day a cordless lawn mower might be classified as eJunk.

Is the hedge trimmer/grass trimmer any good with those little red plastic blades? I'm looking to get one bit prefer the lines as it seems more available.

Im thinking about the electric trimmer/blower VAC combo from Bunnings $88

    • You get 20 of the little blades with that kit.
They're ok really quick to change.
That kits really good value I got the hedge trimmer,2.0ah battery and fast charger.
Then the trimmer/vac kit. Got the two fast chargers hung on the garage wall makes it easy to quickly charge when swapping tools.

    • I've got the grass whipper snipper. I don't reckon the plastic blades work as well as a 'string' system like on other brands. The blades get chopped up if you get too close to a hard edge as I'm sure it would on the string, but doesn't seem to be as durable.

Having said that, you can pick up the blades on ebay at a much cheaper price: LINK
