  • I don't get the hype about these nerf guns, are they for kids or adults?

    • basically they've become so expensive that they're really for adults who want to pretend they're kids again/never got to play with them as a kid. At universities they're used for humans vs zombies a complicated version of tag.

"At universities they’re used for humans vs zombies a complicated version of tag."

        ???

When i was at Uni, we just studied and drank beer (not necessarily in that order)…

        • hehehe we do those too, but the zombies is something extra :P

    • Meant for kids, but Dad tends to pick one up as well. Just to play with the kids of course!

I think it's especially popular here cos we've got such strict gun controls (not even allowed to have BB guns!).

I've got a mini arsenal at work and as Domingo says, it's definitely the best way to get someone's attention lol

It's basically for getting someone's attention in the office…

The firing part looks like fun, but I'm sure the process of picking up the 60 darts, and reloading them, will be bloody tedious!

Requires 6x D size batteries; can be costly in the long run

    • I'm still on my first lost of batteries for my Nerf - N-Strike Vulcan, but yes it can be very expensive to replace.

Looks like a lame kids toy. Get a real gun.

    • +1

getting a real gun is quite expesive, plus you're not supposed to shoot people with real guns AFAIK.

Gun cost + license fee + shooting range membership + gun registration + ammunition.

Its not as easy/convenient as it used to be.

i think wolfenator means going to cabramatta and getting a real gun for $50. Not sure why he'd do that though.

  • Not that cheap, or at least the others aren't. There RRP aren't realistic either. But I can't compare the original post, as Target didn't have it, but:

    Nerf - N-Strike LongStrike CS-6 $49.97 on site, currently $47.00 at Target
Nerf - N-Strike Raider Rapid Fire $49.95 on site, currently $47.00 at Target
Nerf - N-Strike Vulcan $73.95 on site, from memory it was $69.99 RRP and would be less now with the current 20% off.

    Shop around.

  • I'm sure thats the cheapest online with free delivery.

the Vulcans are $48 at kmart

  • do these pack a punch? i want something that will sting a little for use in the office lol :P. how far do they go?

    • people normally mod their nerf guns to pack a whole lot of punch. they are very popular in the modding community.

  • right well its got me interested. might ask for one for christmas, which should I get?

  • It says New or Used_____!!!! Neg from me till they clarify this.

  • Best Nerf gun to buy at the moment is the new Alpha Trooper for $23 from target (exclusive) usually $30. 18 dart drum magazine and makes a nice sound. Only problem is trying to find stock.

The Raider is also good with the 35 dart drum. Nerf gun fights are great fun for adults or kids or both.

  • Sorry 'dsm ninja' but I don't like to rain on your parade but I work @ Kmart & we don't sell the 'Nerf N-strike Stampede ECS'…………..not in NSW anyhow!!!

  • Kmart's have them in QLD $78

I actually bought one from kmart and it didn't work out of the box.

Too lazy too take it back. I just sold the 3 x 18 dart clips for $30 each.
