  • People who took advantage of the Qantas Assure deal and only cancelled late last year, please note that you're not eligible for this.

  • AAMI Health Insurance

Is it agreed value or market value ???

Either way JV I think it might be a bit of a stretch that they'd want to take you on as a liability regardless. Does it cover mental health?

        Does it cover mental health?

        It covers dental health.

So this or NIB $200 Visa Card?

    • I signed up for AAMI yesterday.

The cheapest cover is around ~70/monthly (which is around $7 cheaper than NIB)
And it is a cashback not a Visa Card.

The insurance is issued by NIB though…

  • Suncorp Insurance have the same deal… and same prices..

RUN RUN away and don’t look back!

As has been discussed many times on ozbargain, Nib is an atrociously bad health fund. I work in healthcare and can vouch for that. They’re the only health fund in Australia that does not allow a “known gap” rebate so you end up out of pocket hundreds of dollars more than any other health fund. On top of that their rebates ar among the lowest and I’m not even mentioning how difficult they can be in approving surgeries.

Whatever crap voucher they give you you will pay for it dearly if you ever claim

    • Thanks - always great to get insight from inside. Not that I’d buy into ever more expensive con in the first place - prefer to pay levy and save money for (unlikely) procedures not covered by Medicare.

    • What health fund would you recommend?

      • Not a health care professional, but I've been using HIF extras only for the past 2 years as recommended by others on Ozb. It costs $230 a year on the lowest tier but I get more than double the $$ in claims (mainly using contact lenses, gym and 2 x dental visits a year).
P.S There's a member referral program and they will give out $70 gift cards for every referral.

BONUS50 code gets you a $50 gift card if you sign up with HIF. They also offer 4% discount if you pay your yearly premium upfront.

      • I would like to know this as well. Lots of positive reviews about Westfund but not many discussions about them in forums.

        • Reads a bit too well imo, lots of recent reviews from reviewers making their first review seems a bit sus to me.

    • Is NIB a for profit and not for member health fund?
