Pretty much the best gaming and actually portable laptop in the <2kg category. Its build quality is seemingly quite well received (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_VUD7r0gVA). However do note that there are other gaming laptops which may have similar specs at a lesser price, but also higher weight. So this is more for the form factor, and if you are after pure spec/value and doesn't really mind extra weight, this may not exactly be for you.

  • Guess Gen 8 is coming?

  • This laptop is around $2405 from amazon USA delivered with gst added.

    amazon

    • it delivers to aus?

    • Good find.

I've tried adding to cart and delivery to NSW gives me US$1,855.48 including import tax (Amazon's own conversion is AU$2,483.89, so it'll be cheaper if one uses a transaction-fee-free MasterCard/Visa card).

I don't know if Razer has international warranty though.

      • Yea never use amazons rate. I have a Citi card just for this reason.

    That’s including delivery and taxes.

I only checked one place so if you look around you can probably find it cheaper still.

  • If Razer jumped on the thin bezel wagon I'd be all over this.

Good price, but my experience with this machine was very poor.

Terrible battery life even under light use (no dGPU), constant coil whine, and ran ridiculously hot. The HD screen is rubbish too, poor brightness and contrast. Sold it, and a few months later the GPU died on the new owner.

Just one annecdotal report and YMMV, but I’d be very unlikely to buy a Razer laptop again.

Thanks for sharing your experience! =)

Actually you’re not alone on this one had a few clients report the exact same thing, one actually had 4 replacements in the space of 5 months all die on him( eventually got a full refund after a long fight and had me build him a desktop). Main complaint I herd was about the heat and the ghosting on the screen. Personally I’d look to the Rog swifts / strix or XPS models over this one.

    • I have very similar experience with Razer Blade Stealth. Sent for repair twice times in the first 6 month. Sold the replacement and the new owner asked my help to send it for repair twice in half a year. He sold it eventually. Will never buy a Razer laptop again.

Now that i'm able to actually look. some thing like this strix would fair much better for use cooling and in general use. while it is half the size in ssd capacity ( you can get a 1tb variant for a little bit more than the razer i posted earlier) the 120hz screen and the 1tb sshd are great benefits to it and its a little cheaper than the razer. Asus have a international warranty on thier laptops ( i think its atleast 1 year if my memory still serves me well). that said save the money there are many other cheaper ones out there that are very similar in specs.

    • I'm actually not in the market of a new laptop lol, but was just replying someone who wanted a ultraportable gaming laptop and saw Razer's promo hence decided to post it.

Thanks for your time nonetheless and good find! It is slightly cheaper than buying it here locally, if one uses a transaction-fee-free MasterCard/Visa Card.
