Another bullshit fake lightning cable - Please note - NOT MFi certified (the required Apple chip certification for the cable to work).

I was burnt the on the last cheap lightning cable deal from Zapals - cable DOA.

Stick to the Blitzwolf lightning cable that has also just been posted - that's a good one

It is not fake though it is not MFI certified. And this is not the same as Zapals'

      • +3

Well, OK. I consider non-MFi cables fake since being non-MFi certified mean they can't be used to charge the iPhone 6, 7, 8 or X, nor the recent iPads.

Failure of primary function = fake in my books

There are plenty of non-MFI cables that work better than the official Apple ones. It just means they're harder to find or test without having the actual cables.

Doesn't mean they instantly "fail" their purpose because the manufactures didn't pay $5 a cable for some certification.

        • @pifts:
They work…. Until the next ios update and then they don't work

        • @pifts:
If you can point to one that works for longer than 6 months that would be great

        • @pencilman: this is just an example blog (I am on mobile): http://appleapple.top/how-to-choose-a-quality-and-affordable…

        • @pifts:
That link is rubbish in this context.

Generally waste of money to buy a non-MFi cable, it's always a lottery.

        • @pizzaguy: Yes I agree it can be a lottery. My point is it's 'rubbish' in this context to say that all non-MFI cables won't work. Evidently there are plenty of off-market cables that work well (if not better than)… But sure if you're happy to pay extra for security go for it. I'm just trying to help people who actually want to save money and willing to put in effort haha.

        • @dangerdanger: Why did someone neg me!

        • @pifts: Everybody is trying to help save money and buying non-mfi cables in non-emergency conditions is not saving them to me .)

          @dangerdanger: There, there. It's Ozb.

      • Does this work on the latest iOS 11?

Cost to return the item will be more than the item is worth!

If its not MFI certified then its fake

    • Ummm?, If its not ceritfied, it just means ita not certified.

Until apples own branded cables are tested they are therefore fake?

  • OP, what is the difference between these cables and the $1 cables I can get from eBay?

    • The quality. I just know the quality of mine is good. I don't know the cables on eBay because I did not try.
