    Ta, TA.

Also here before MathNerd & JV. :p

  • +4

    Here we go…

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thanks TA..

  • +48

Guys! I just tried the code 16 hours before it goes live, why isn't it working?!

    • +2

      Only MathNerd can answer that.

    • +1

Did you try in Amazon ?

    • +3

      Because you don't own a DeLorean DMC-12 that's why.

    • +8

Try pressing alt and F4 at the same time.

      • No it's up up down down left…

    • +1

Did you try it on Gumtree?

    • -1

Because you too genius like Trump.

  • +1

Buggar why always after I've already purchased

    • +3

The head on your avatar is a bit x-rated, don't you think?

      • +2

Kahn say I noticed until you mentioned it

      • Maybe if it was wearing a bandana.

  • +1

Why is EBay doing discount codes so much?

    • +11

      Amazon

      • I think part of it is also to do with market research purposes.

They can probably place each ebay account under different categories now, hence why we have significantly more targetted offers over blanket offers for everyone.

Every click through that doesn't result in purchase they monitor, every search after the promotion they can monitor for future purchases.

Then of course you have those that just purchase regardless anyway

it would be interesting for their data analytics for sure

    • +3

For exposure, so that they get people using it as their "go-to" online shopping destination (before Amazon arrives). Every discount, even if it's targetted or the prices are jacked up, ends up on the front page of OzBargain. The sitewide codes are actually good though.

      • +1

Hasn't Amazon already arrived? ( Ut was a fizzer?)

    • +4

Out of the goodness of their heart?

    • Because it isn't giving 20% off sitewide that often now. All these are only 10% off.

    • +1

Race to the bottom? Big bad Amazon come huffing and puffing.

    • +1

Lowering / spending profit made for Q1 target- turning profit into more turnover again Q1 target which helps with new user sign ups and general popularity in competition.

Previously I noticed the discount is NOT offered by eBay,it's actually PayPal that's giving you the discount.

      • You know who owns paypal right?

        • +5

Yes, me and many other shareholders. Ebay spun it off as a separate company two years ago.

As hippo2s suggests, Ebay probably want to show more top line revenue growth for the quarter, and are willing to give up profit to do so. Hence the reason we get lots of these deals at the end of a quarter.

    • End of Quarter sale!!
(Maybe FY depending on which country eBay business has to pay tax in?)

  • Thank you so much! I missed the last 2 by falling asleep after work and have a big shopping list ready to go.
    Alarm set.

    • You feel asleep at work?

      • Yeah, I feel asleep at work, but I wait until after work to actually fall asleep lol.
I made it for this one because it was Sunday afternoon, saved $100+ thanks to this deal.

      • Who doesn't

  • -7

Lemme hear you say PRICE JACK!

    • +9

PRICE Jaᶜ… ﹡ʳᵉᵃᶫᶦˢᵉˢ ᶰᵒ ᵒᶰᵉ ʰᵃˢ ʲᵒᶦᶰᵉᵈ ᶦᶰ﹡

      • -5

        You're all sheep

    • You won't find many price jacks when it's sitewide sale.

  • +10

Broke as a joke. I'll be window shopping LOL

  • +1

Wow nice. Bought a Macbook Pro early morning today and was holding off the payment to pay with ebay gift cards purchased from 5% off woolworths gift card deal. Bought the woolworths gift cards today at noon but didn’t receive them yet. Little bit disappointed and praying I will get it before this deal ends.

    • How do you actually use the eBay gift cards ? Do you select pay by credit card and put them in there, or is it something you can do by paying through Paypal ?

      • Just enter the gift card numbers in the same box that you enter these ebay codes

        • can u use more thanone ebay gift card?

        • @JackyQ:

Yes. Ebay says 8 is the limit. But according to the other members here, it is not enforced. The enforced limit is $2500 gift card value per day. Plus you can stack these % off coupons.

        • @oxymoron: thanks!

    • Is this giftcard thing a current deal?

      • +1

it's the ongoing using 5% off wishcards to buy ebay giftcards at woolies.

    • Is there a "surcharge" to buy the ebay cards at Woolies?

      • +1

No. You buy e-wish gift cards through cashrewards and then use that to buy ebay gift cards at woolworths

        • Thank you!

        • @whodidthat:

Though you probably won't be able to get any to take advantage of this deal since they seem to be batch processed at midnight each day.

Ie: if you buy some now you won't get them until tomorrow.

        • @drsmithy: Yes, they do delay the Woolies gift cards, but I already bought some a few days ago.

  • +3

I wonder if OfficeWorks will sit this one out again lol

    • +1

I'm gonna try to get in early before they know whats going on! :D

      • Good luck! =D

    • +1

Couldn’t believe the note on their site… same price across all platforms. eBay is paying for this not the sellers.

      • +2

They have no excuse. It's officeworks being scum

  • Nice. Another 10%.

  • Does Office Works price match items sold on eBay if they are from Australia?

    • +2

Not with percentage off deals that are done with a coupon code.

      • Bugger, cheers for the reply.

        • It wouldn't hurt to try, why? I price matched at officeworks on a deal from mobile citi that included a coupon and the guy did it in store. I took him through OZbargain and the deal and he entered the code etc to verify that it all worked and the cost..

This was the deal (10% off with a coupon code)
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/289324

I got the S7 for ~$678, which is OW 5% price beat guarantee ($714 with code at mobile citi)

I'm in Melb, MC is interstate.

        • @nismo: Yeah it doesn't hurt to try but mileage varies and don't be disappointed if it doesn't work. Just Google Map the next Officeworks and try again LOL.

  • +1

I'm holding out on a certain laptop purchase hoping that they will do 15% off on Easter weekend. What's you guys opinion? Am I holding out in vein? Resisted 3 x 10% off so far!

    • No chance

      • eh, able to elaborate a bit as to the source of your overwhelming confidence??

        • EBay will get plenty of business over Easter without a promotion

  • Can you use this with another discount code?

    • +1

      You cannot.

  • Now it's tikme for me to buy those Sirena tunas

    • +3

What a time to be alive!

      • +8

I'm sure the tunas would've disagreed.

        • Lol

  • good, another 10%

  • -1

wish the code would be FUAMAZON

  • +2

only 10%? we don't even bat an eyelid? call me when there is 30% off.

    • +4

      Don't hold your breath.

    • RIP then

    • Seller fees are 10% so at 10% discount eBay Australia is just forgoing their cut. (eBay still earns on listing fees though, so still not losing). They're hedged at 10%.
Any more, they'd be paying to subsidise the discount. That'd be a risky unhedged position for them - especially with us ozbargain dogs ready to pounce at anytime, they could be on the line for a huge loss in a few hours.

      • Private seller 10.9% + i got an email saying things were changing to be 2% more if your seller rating drops. And practically speaking everyone pays with PayPal, do an extra 2.9% plus 30c. And of course they charge these fees on postage costs too…

It's no wonder eBay are perceived as royal jerks.

Edit: fees can be as low as 4.8% if you want to pay $550/month shop fee and for certain types of expensive items

      • Most sellers are getting $1 Sunday final value promos and if you were smart you would have listed a bucketload of items when they had the $0 listing and final value promos.

        Screw Ebay!!!

        • I agree with you two, the seller fees eBay charges is a-hole level. Not a seller myself other than occasional item here/there.
But I feel for those trying to earn from an ebay business.
I shop on aliexpress every chance now - sellers get hit 8% I believe (after paying $1.5k store set up fee).

  • Hi guys can you advice me router/modem to use with optus sim card in my home. I will replace nbn with optus 4g. Thanks

    • +2

      Optus 4G Pre-Paid USB Modem $25.00

      • Thanks for this. Do you think it is suitable for home? Because it will be the only and main internet source for all family.

        • No it will only work on one computer, if you want a wifi hotspot you need -
Optus 4G Pre-Paid WiFi Mobile Broadband Modem $59.00

Or a 4g Android Mobile Phone that has Wi-Fi Hotspot like this -
          Optus Huawei Y3 II 4G 8GB Prepaid Smartphone - Black $32.70 @ Harvey Norman

        • +1

          @WatchNerd: thanks

        • +1

@WatchNerd: Thats a rubbish device for somehting thats going to be on 24hr a day and having multiple connections. Get a second hand netgear 790s (telstra 4g branded but unlocked)on ebay even better if you get a craddle for it

        • Sorry I missed that bit where Wandan said it was going to be on 24hrs a day, but regardless if it's plugged into the computer then I don't see a problem.
