Australian Landlord Insurance is offering $20 off policies for life. The pricing nationwide with the $20 reduction are the following:
QLD $305 NSW $345 WA $275 SA $270 VIC $280 ACT $285 TAS $250

This product is only suitable for professionally managed investment properties (managed by a property manager) on a fixed term lease (no holiday letting).

The product is extremely competitive in the current market. Some of the main features of its policy are:

  • Rental default up to $18,000 with no excess, up to a maximum rent of $1,500 per week. As an example, if a property rents for $500 per week, rent default coverage is up to 36 weeks.
  • Murder/Suicide/Government - 104 weeks cover.
  • Accidental, deliberate & malicious damage (inclusive of pet damage) up to $70,000.

  • OK, it may well be that I'm stupid (and my question will certainly indicate that I've not purchased landlord insurance previously), but can anyone tell me whether the listed premiums are monthly amounts (i.e. QLD $305 per month) or an annual amount (i.e. QLD $305 per annum), please?

  • can you confirm if an IP managed by landlord itself (without using an agent) is covered under your policy?

    • Unfortunately we only cover professionally managed properties (through agents), sorry about that.

  • Cannot submit form - keeps getting the error that values are not in the correct format for the Property Manager Phone Number field. I have tried entering a mobile and a landline (with and without area code).

      • I've submitted a form on Monday - but have not been contacted to make payment or received a formal policy document. Speed of communication is quite poor.

  • I have sent an query regarding insuring two properties - the response was that I had submitted a policy and I could cancel by ringing the staff - I have not even signed for the policy, nor entered any payment details - This does not seem legit.

      You can get home insurance policies online without signing anything (you can get just about any service without signing… e.g. gas, electricity, internet, phone etc).
      Not paying for it… seems like a win to me. :)

      Building insurance is on a quote basis (the pricing varies dramatically), if you open the form and select Yes to the quote for building insurance and fill out the details we can send through a quote to you.

  • Not a fan of having to input the managing agent details before I even get a quote. Not being able to generate a quote for building online also turned me off doing a simple comparison to my current policy. After all, most landlords would have the building as part of their current policy. Last question. Do you write policy for a 'company' owner, as opposed to private individuals?

  • My current combined landlord and building is not up for renewal until October, will you be running any other specials through the year?
