[REFURB] $283.50 Dell OptiPlex 9020 SFF i5-4570 8GB Ram 128GB SSD Windows 10 Pro @ Bneacttrader eBay

1290
P10EASTER

Howdy!

To take advantage of the 10% off site wide price I've dropped the base price of the popular 9020 stock.

It's a couple dollars more than the older 20% off promo's, but they do sell out fast and we aren't doing the 20% off promo's anytime soon.

Very popular machine for office / home use. They have the Dell 2.5" HDD Adapters so you can add an extra 2.5" HDD easily

Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF
Core i5 4570 3.2GHz (4C)
8GB RAM
128GB HDD
They have 7 Pro COA's but they are imaged with Windows 10 Pro.

The price will go back up to $339 when either the 10% ends or stock sell out. Only 120 units available

  • The HP Elitedesk 800 G1 is also a decent spec / price:

Just wondering if the BIOS has been patched for the latest Meltdown/Spectre exploits?

  • I got the i7 4770 variant of this one and it runs quite hot

At night time it idles at 52c and it shot up to 95c when I stressed tested it for 15mins. If i didn't stop the stress test I have no doubt it would've went up over 100c

    Is this normal???

    Thanks.

    • Check power management setting in Windows to ensure it's set to 'normal' , and not 'maximum performance' as that will needlessly run the processor at 100% all the time even when the system is idle.

Open unit and give it a good clean to ensure no dust bunnies are clogging up fan vents.

Also consider buying some new thermal paste compound (e.g. Arctic Silver 5), remove the CPU cooler assembly, clean off the old compound from the cooler, CPU, apply some fresh AS5 and reattach to ensure optimal heat transfer from the CPU to the cooling unit.

If you haven't done this before watch some Youtube videos, or get help from a friend who's done it before.

Update your system BIOS to the latest released by Dell:

      • Thanks Xuqi

do you have this system aswell?? I'm pretty sure the setting is set to normal but I will check again.

I finally got this system running with 1xHDD and 1xSSD installed together. I ended up putting the SSD below the HDD caddy next to the Ram.

I couldn't install the 1050ti since I didn't have the necessary tools to install the low profile bracket and I also noticed the GPU won't actually fit in the PCIE 16x slot but it fits at the 1x one.

        • I have the same system in USFF, SFF (the type here), and the midi-tower.

They use the same cooling setup in this chassis to cool everything from the i3 4130, to the i7 4770 so you expect the fastest chip in the range to operate warmer.

Refreshing the thermal paste, and cleaning away dust will reduce temps a little but they won't work miracles.

If the chip is operating at 50c-65c during normal operation then I don't see an issue. That it rises to 95c after 15mins of stress testing isn't much of an issue either as normal usage would never place sustained stress on the system.

The latest BIOS version is A22 or revision 22. You can check your version in the BIOS. If older I would definitely update it as the latest A22 iteration was released to deal with the Intel Spectre and Meltdown faults found in Intel CPU's.

  • I missed the SSD one sadly, but I got a HDD one, so it cost me $55 more to put in an SSD for my customer.

Anyhow, it seems ok, running memtest now, used to use these things all the time, with 8 / 16gb, decent SSD it's a very very good machine, even long term.

My case was slightly scratched up on the top but not too bad overall, enough to pass with a customer I suspect when I sell it on

  • Hifolks

Can someone help point the way on instructions how to install a second HDD. Alot of the YouTube videos are all about replacing or upgrading HDD.

Can this handl one add and one 2.5 HDD?

    • I must have been half asleep when I wrote this.

      Correction:
Can this handle one SSD and a 2.5 HDD?
