Saw this ad on my local paper.

Pennytel uses the Telstra network. There's no lock in contract.

Free first month only works when porting in using an existing number.

Has unlimited national calls and text included in all their plans.

Offer: Free 1st monthly plan charge when you transfer your number to Pennytel and order a $20 or $30 plan with an automatic payment method. Valid for orders placed before 30th April 2018 if SIM card activated within 6 months. Limit to 2 customers located at the same address.   I think it sets up auto recharge like Amaysim. Hopefully it can be turned off or you can just leave before the end of the free period.

Do not use a credit card for payment. Only debit cards.

It's up to a month of mobile service for no cost.

Yes it might "only" be 5GB of data but that's quite good for many people on here.

I have now received my SIM and am very happy. Thank you for the post.

They went bust before and closed down. I'd stear clear…. They don't use Telstra either… Just Telstra wholesale network.

Does anyone know if they charge per KB or MB? I've already used 200mb somehow by just using Google chrome.
