Two really cheap SSDs on sale. If you combine with Cashreward's 10% cashback then they're even more of a bargain!

KingDian is a decent Chinese brand for SSDs and I've never had any issues with them. They're obviously no Samsung, but still faster than traditional hard drives. Both SSDs are perfect for replacing a HDD in an old laptop, using as a dedicated OS drive or even slipping them in an external enclosure for use as a portable SSD. They are MLC and the S400 SSD has faster read/write speeds.

If you have a MSY near you, the Kingston A400 120GB is $52.

    • $11 price difference. This is OzBargain afterall.

        Kingston vs Kingdian

        I take Kingston.

Also I believe the 240Gb A400 is like $88 from JW?

        • This isn't the 240GB deal

Seems irrational. Kingston does not make their own stuff, they buy it at the same place as these guys.

          @Diji1:
yeah but kingston will back their product, whats Kingdians support like?

        • @ideasman:

yep, good luck with whatever support you get from 'kingdian' and aliexpress

        • @Diji1: Reports suggest that these no-name Chinese SSDs are harvested NAND from e-waste.
Who knows for sure. I actually ordered one of the cheap 60GB ones from the deal a few days ago. But for this price, I'd rather pay the extra 4 bucks and get the faster, "name brand", new model.

  • Don't buy junk people.

I bought a KingDian S280 120GB SSD from Amazon.co.uk and it's now stopped working after just two months. I tried to RMA it and send it back to China, filled in the returns form on their website but KingDian just ignore you. They even deleted my account instead of sending me an RMA number. So I've wasted £50 on this pathetic company.

The SSD still shows up in the BIOS, but not computer/disk management or any Partition software. So it looks like it's completely broke. I would stay well clear of this company. They suck!"

    • So an Amazon reviewer had a faulty drive? I could go to a dozen Amazon pages for other brands and find the same.

      • You're missing the point. Anything may die, its how they handled the RMA that's important.

Anyhow, you should buy one. If it dies just start rubbing the logo and your luck may change. :)

        • I get everyone's point. This has been a good demonstration of OzBargain's double standards.
