You can buy these for $5-10 at the health store sometimes thrown in for free with protein…

    • +1

Yes we sell the for $10 instore.
But $8 with postage is good value, though it may not suit you what about those in australia that have no health food store near them.
Also yes we do generally throw them in for free sometimes as well but that would require a purchase.

  • -6

i pour it in any plastic bottle and shake it….but seriously, no.

  • +1

    Awful deal! No value!

  • I thought these came free if you bought protein shakes in bulk or something?

  • +2

What's wrong with using an ordinary milkshake cup?

  • -3

man this is heaps good what u guys been smoking, cheapest is like $5 (or $4.25 from kmart) to be exact for the standard shakers which are pretty good but can leak after a while.

this item is described as "Guaranteed not to leak!" lol, not sure how true that is but it comes with a stainless steel mixer ball which most others don't offer and it really makes that difference when your drinking it.

but pls let me know if there is a better offer anywhere else

  • -4

I got a Max's protein shaker which looks exactly like this one for $8 from the health food store in Adelaide city. So not a bargain in my opinion.

    • not everyone lives in Adelaide city bro, this is $8 delivered

  • +18

Got a free one with the Optislim free offer that was posted here a few weeks ago.

    • I was happy to get my one of those too; but in fairness, those were a 450ml shaker…whereas this is a 700ml one with the mixer ball; this is a respectable price shipped! :)

      • +4

        the ball is crap.
I got one when i bought my protein powder.

        just more washing.

        • +1

Here's a handy tip…if you don't wanna wash the ball, you can choose not to drop it in! ;)

Then the question merely becomes…are we comparing apples to apples? 450ml vs 700ml…hmm, I smell some citrus! :p

    • +1

They sent those samples quite quick and it was good to try out shakes in that shaker. 450 ml is good size too , I suppose.

  • no dice! better deals to be had at your local supermarket.

warning for all the steel ball is a gimmick. It doesnt get to the areas the protien sticks to.
my tip: Add water 1st, powder 2nd.

  • -3

No bargain. I have 5 protein shakers, never paid for a single one. Buy some protein they generally give them away.

  • cmon muscle beach, we need better deals that that here.

  • -2

Not really a bargain, as a few people have mentioned before… i also "get mine free with a decent purchase at the health food store"

  • +13

Considering this shaker when purchased alone costs us money rather than making money, I would say it is a good deal. Go to any supplement site and you will see them for $9.95 plus $9.95 postage.
We did do our research before we posted it.

Now for those of you that get your shakers for free with a purchase in store, probably with a purchase of a 3kg-5kg powder. Just because this deal isn't for you, doesn't mean there aren't thousands of people that only purchase a $25 500g protein each time.

  • +12

I see a lot of negs, but I notice nobody has posted a link to a better deal…the only option being touted is the possibility of getting one with a $50-$100 protein purchase!

This is not a ripoff, it's a fair price & using negs to make comparisons to a half-sized freebie or getting one for nix somewhere with a bulk purchase are simply not fair. This may come as a shock to some of you guys, but occasionally we have to pay for things! :o

    • +1

if only one of the friendly mods could pop by and clean this post up…

    • -2

Does everyone have to waste their time posting a better deal (Just because it's cheaper somewhere else, doesn't mean that the cheaper one is a bargain either, it's the general price), people have mentioned they go for around $4-10 instore. Isn't that enough for you?

      • A negative vote would also be appropriate for cheaper prices elsewhere. In this case, please include a link or description of where it is cheaper

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

        • -2

Ok, following guidelines blindly is one thing, but the way you read is just childish. I can post any rubbish deal that is overpriced, and for it to be negged or removed people would have to provide proof. Think it over andy.

        • +2

          Ahhhh Jared…..
Firstly….why do poor deals need to be negged and removed? There is already a system in place where poor (or unpopular) deals disappear simply because better (or more popular) deals have more positives……(nb. 'popular' does not necessarily mean that it's great deal)

don't forget….. like with children….reward the good, ignore the bad

Next…..if I happened to be in the market for a protein shaker, this thread tells me nothing about where the best deal is….. "they go for $4-10 in store" or "$8-10 at the shops" or "never paid for a single one" does not tell me where I can get one at a better price than the one advertised here.
It's not about providing 'proof' of whether a deal is 'good' or 'bad'….it's about providing information on where the best deal can be had…which is the reason for the site's existence.

          Think it over Jared….

        • -3

I guess everyone is too lazy to look up on Google, static ice etc. and have to be assisted like little children by having a link infront of their face (Although I believe someone mentioned kmart anyway as a reference). Oh well, if some people are like that, that isn't my problem I guess. Rules are there to keep some sort of guideline, not a literal law.

        • +1

I guess everyone is too lazy to look up on Google, static ice etc. and have to be assisted like little children by having a link infront of their face

That being the case, what is the point of ozbargain??….. We can all look up prices on google, etc.

It's actually about sharing information with each other. If I have googled a price for a cheaper protein shaker, tv, whatever….. then I am happy to share that info with others, to save them doing it. I hope others might do it for me…..

          Think outside of Jared-world…..

        • -1

ozbargain is to make life easier by not searching for bargains and using an aggregated feed, not to verify crap deals.

        • ozbargain is to make life easier by not searching for bargains and using an aggregated feed

but Jared…where do you think the feed gets it's content?
I'm assuming that perhaps you haven't quite grasped the concept of the site properly, because having been a member for 1 year and 9 weeks, you have contributed zero deals to the community. Perhaps revisit the wiki page which informs you how to do it……I note that you have been very vocal about other's deals….463 comments in fact, (a good many of which are somewhat critical), so you seem to understand how to do that.

Hopefully you will be able to get your head around the deal posting thing….I look forward to seeing and discussing some of your postings.

We wouldn't want people to start thinking of you as a selfish trolling leech, would we?….

      • Think what you think, if you think I'm here to say 'Oh wow, great deal, great work!', you're wrong. Being part of the community is voluntary and ozbargain makes its revenue through ads and is happy enough for non-contributors to be non-contributors. And yes, most are negative, and the ones that I believe are decent deals I don't comment. If that's not your attitude, tough luck.

Leechers are welcome on the site, as long they are not blocking the ads, that's fine.

I congratulate you on reading a few numbers, you've earned it.

Maybe if you knew this site had some ads, you would know a bit more about how this site works. If this was a community driven site and it was all about contribution, I would have been banned quite a while ago.

        • The affiliations of this site have been well discussed, both here and other sites….it's no big secret. However, they make up a small proportion of postings. Rep deals, whilst growing, are still not the majority….
The bulk of postings still come from members sharing what deals they have found with the rest of the community….Think it through Jared….If we all leech and criticize, eventually member postings will die away, and all that remains will be ads, ozbargain or otherwise, which benefits no one.

But thank you for your honesty…

        • Everyone is different, not everyone is going to become a leech, I'm sure you and a lot of people don't do things everyone should be doing and contributing, the problem is, that everyone doesn't have the time to contribute everything or have the will to do so.

        • +1

I suspect that harsh criticism is likely to be more damaging than leeching. Posting is already becoming somewhat of an ordeal, particularly for first time posters….some discussion here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36267

everyone doesn’t have the time to contribute everything or have the will to do so.

I guess we should perhaps be more encouraging the ones that do…… :)

        • +3

I could understand the criticism if I posted something that wasn't a good deal.
But considering the amount of people that have taken up on it I would assume that it is.

After mentioning in an earlier post that I would do a shaker for $4 if the customer came into the store, I had one taker. Now it seems to me that an $8 shaker with postage to their door is more to peoples liking.

jared444 You mentioned earlier that a simple google search or static ice would suffice, I have searched those, getprice, shopping.com and a few others and yet the closest I could find was $14 with postage and that was a cheaper shaker.

Consider the amount of $4.95 pizza deals or 2 for $16 delivered, I have seen on here over time that are only good to customers local to that pizza shop. These deals get pumped up with positives here for a short time. But pizza in one way or another is always cheap and most accept competitor coupons.
Sounds like similar savings to me but not the same result in support.

  • good deal, i have a feeling alot of the neggers have no idea what they are talking about.

    • agreed it's a bit sad. agreed with OP not everyone buys in bulk, and not every store throws in a free one, not the ones i've been to through WA anyway

  • -2

It is actually the cheapest on ebay, however you can usually purchase them for $8-10 at the shops anyway.

  • You're all smoking crack. These are $16 in GNC, they arent the $2 ones from kmart. I use these for milkshakes to drink on the train on my way to work, they're the only brand that dont leak and dont taste funny after a little while. So a top bargain for someone that doesn't buy $400 of protein.

  • $8 for a a piece of plastic cup that probably cost 20 cents to make and $7.80 to market.

    • Though they may cost 20cents to product in China, these shakers aren't available in a flat pack version where you can assemble them yourself. So shipping for a bulky air filled item adds alot of extra cost.

  • Thanks to all the supporters.

To the others please remember that this includes postage anywhere in Australia.
For those willing to come to our store in Campbelltown, NSW and mention this I will do the shaker for $4.

When we eventually have atleast one store in each state it may be more practical to offer something like that, but at the moment why would I waste peoples time reading a special for a product that is only available to those within the Sydney region.

  • I've got a few of these shakers from when I bought supplements through musclebeach, their service was second to none.

The only problem I have with muscle beach, and not to do with this deal, is that their prices have become average compared to other stores and ebay, if prices are the same then I'll be back to being a regular musclebeach customer

    • Hi kingzac.
Send me an email to [email protected]
Let me know which products you use that you'd like us to review the price on.
I will hopefully be adding alot more products to our eBay store in the following month's but time is the limiting factor.

The negatives here are, as usual, pretty clueless in general. Of course there are cheaper ones available, but are they as good? I've got several shakers, and those with the stainless steel spring ball are by far the best. There is no comparison with the others in terms of build quality and ability to mix properly.

So, if you don't actually have a clue what you're talking about, better not to comment.

  • Lets put it in different terms.

You can buy a Sony 46 inch Full HD TV, or you can get a Soniq 46 inch Full HD TV for half the price of the Sony. Both the same size but one does the job heaps better. And the Sony gets delivered for free but the Soniq you have to go pick up, so all those that live nowhere near the shop selling the Soniq are stuffed.

I know very little about shakers but it seems from those who use them that the steel mixing ball ones are great compared to cheap plastic ones. I can also only wonder what it costs to post something like this so you may actually be getting it for close to free and just paying for postage. I dunno. shrugs

    • The cables come with that 46 inch TV for "free", but when the time comes and you need a new one or heaven forbid a different length, would someone go back later and ask for it for free.

  • +1

I actually went to the store yesterday. Terry was very helpful. In-store he sells them for $10, I mentioned ozbargains and he sold it for $4 and its very good quality, and if I did have any issues with it, let him know. So $8 DELIVERED is a bargain!

If I can make a suggestion for you Terry. Submit your in-store deal as a new bargain online. $4 in-store if customers mention ozbargains. People may want to know deals happening around them locally. Cheers, let me know how that goes!

    • We are currently in the process of franchising our stores.
In the future deals like this and more will be submitted as in store specials once more stores are available for customers to take advantage of, that way it applies to more users here.
