  • How long are they? I might be blind but I couldn't see any mention of length.

    • I think they're 2m

  • What do people use these for?

    • Ambient lighting behind my TV.

    • wrapped over headboard. great for reading

    • Dim soft-colour night light in child's room behind bed.

    • +1

Notifications - different colours for different things via Home Assistant.

eg. Red to green - no motion for 3 minutes
Green to red - motion (at least one minute after last detected)
Blue - the server has grabbed something and is downloading

Also as an ambient light with yeelights for movies getting ready to go to sleep (red for bed, blue is for waking - I don't use it but might be good for jet lag or changing shift hours etc).

      • Thanks for the server up time idea, been thinking to do this at work, to create "red-light district" when the server is down…lol…

  • +1

I actually use this as a main light for a small room and just have it reflecting of the ceiling its really good for setting the mood as well as preventing eye strain at night.

    • +3

its really good for setting the mood

      Oh, behave!

  • Anyone can comment on DD4?

    • +1

      3 orders, zero problems.

      • Thank you. How long did you wait for your order?

        • +1

Can't remember off hand but it wasn't out of the ordinary for delivery from China. They did take extra days to ship an order over CNY but that's to be expected.

  • Anyone know if there are any Xiaomi strip lights with a built in battery?

    • Don't think so. It plugs into the wall

  • Anyone know how these compare to LIFX Z?

    • +1

      It's $100 cheaper

    • yeah i have both, they are about the same quality and brightness/colours.

      • Are they interchangeable for extension purposes? I have lifx z and would like to extend it with this

  • +1

Been interested in getting one of these, worth buying at this price? Seems like it has been a bit cheaper

    • +2

I just bought 4th strip. It is amazing to use behind the tv, in the bedroom, under the stairs etc etc.

  • Can you buy 1m extension strips for these?

    • To my knowledge they are not expandable (officially).

  • anyone knows what plugs these come in? if it's the chinese prongs have anyone successfully bent it with pliers? I've done so on the xiaomi robot vac with great success.

    • +1

      US Plug

  • Thanks Reidyy123, needed another one, or two

  • Thank you, I've been waiting for this.

Anyone wondering This vs Lifx - I have both, they are about the same quality, brightness & colours.

  • So you cant join strips together I that it?

    • I forgot about joining, with Lifx you can but i pretty sure you cant with these.

  • F it to hell… have been waiting for this to come up and was about to buy six. There are now zero in stock!

    • Back in stock, albeit at a slightly higher price

  • Anyone else get theirs yet? Got mine today and having issues adding it to the Yeelight app.. Getting timeouts and none of the fixes I've tried online are working.

    • Never mind I got it!

To everyone having issues, make sure your router SSID doesn't have special characters and if it still can't connect, try a phone hotspot with the same details first.
