  • That's a great price for the Apple cable! Yes I know HDMI is HDMI, but you won't find a better built cable for $10…

but you won't find a better built cable for $10

Seriously? It's not even braided. I can think of multiple examples of better cables for less eg. MSY $9 for 2m. Actually their non-braided flat 2m cable for $6 looks like better quality as well ie. it's thick plastic rather than a thin cord.

      Seriously, some Apple fans …

      • I use a Samsung phone and a Windows PC?

        My comment was two parts:

        1. That's a great price for the Apple cable!

Absolutely is a great price for that particular product, which is the point of this forum, to share bargains with eachother. Can you find it cheaper elsewhere?

        1. You won't find a better built cable for $10

You haven't provided any examples refuting that statement. You make the comment "their…cable for $6 looks like better quality" Have you actually used either cable? Are you just going off pictures on the internet? What evidence are you providing to support your downvote and comment?

Find a better HDMI cable for <$10, otherwise you're not adding to the conversation.

Yeah I'm with Diji on this. Don't apple make some of the worst quality cables on the planet?

    • Agreed. It’s the only hdmi cable that has never failed on any of my devices. Definitely swear by this cable!

The rest of apples range is shit house though 😂

  • Costs $29 at the 3 other places I checked.

Couldn't find which version it can support
    HDMI v1.4, v1.4b, v2.0 v2.0b etc?

    • Saw it in OW last week and the price was 20. Couldn't find version but manufacture date is 2012,

      • Price is really good for branded HDMI cable.

Will I need a new cable?
      NO!
Here is the exact quote from HDMI.org: "Version 2.0 of the HDMI Specification does not define new cables or new connectors. Current High Speed cables (category 2 cables) are capable of carrying the increased bandwidth."
Here's another direct quote: "HDMI 2.0, which is backwards-compatible with earlier versions of the HDMI specifications…"

Version 2.0 (like 1.4 before it) is entirely a hardware change. It is not a cable change. You can expect cable manufacturers to proclaim that you need expensive new "Version 2.0 cables" but this is untrue. Your current High Speed cables should work just fine.

$10 for a 1.8m HDMI cable is considered a bargain?

2m cable $7.99 delivered. Have never had a Selby HDMI cable fail on me, can get even cheaper ones from eBay/MSY etc. Unless you’re going over 10-15m that’s when you need to spend a bit more on a quality cable.

    • I vouch for Selby cables been using HDMI, pal & optical cables and they are pretty good.

  • Thanks OP, have been trying to get this
