  • How abt network is it good or worse

    • -3

      The wurst.

I'm buying it to port out of Telstra and back in via JB Hi Fi deal..

      • Telstra detects if your number was on their network within the last 30 days and it makes you ineligible for "port in" deals
Vodafone is the same now too (voda and telstra use same software)

Based on all the comments on the JB deal it works.

i seem to switch every 28 days to a 2$ telstra sim to go back into an optus kit.
          is that different?

I ported out of Kogan at the end of the free month deal, using a $3 for $10 Optus sim card, and only 6 days later, ported back for another Kogan free month, no probs. Vodafone didn't stop me

        • As an ex employee of both
          "siebel"
(the name sends shivers down the spine)
some large Oracle based CRM software
          Clunky and slow at best…

        • @MagicTsukai: never hada trouble with optus to port in

  • My Kogan introductory month (the $7.90 deal) expires today. Can I pick this up and port in for another month?

    • Yes, in theory but same carrier to same carrier ports take longer.

      Bad idea.

      • I just ported from Kogan to Vodafone and the porting was completed in literally 5 minutes… I agree with you voda->voda direct I have heard it can take longer, but voda<->Kogan is two different networks, even though they share voda

        • Kogan is on Vodafone.

Optus to Optus ports are probably the scariest thing on earth.

          Vodafone - Vodafone is alright.

        • @StrayfireX:
Hey a genuine query to clear things up for me:
Are you saying Optus to Optus direct (only) are a pain, or any Optus carrier to Optus carrier (eg. Optus to amaysim, or amaysim to vaya etc) are also a pain to port to/from?
Because if Kogan to voda are fine and they both use the voda network, surely amaysim to Optus would be fine too? Or are all Optus network porting to any Optus carrier just a pain?
Also while we’re on the topic, would Vodafone direct porting to Vodafone direct be an issue? (Im assuming it would)
          Cheers for any input :)

        • @4KGrubby:

Any Optus to Optus MVNO has to be done manually. Can be pretty slow.

  • How do I get the extra 6GB?

    • +1

NVM found it: "vailable to new prepaid customers who, between 01/02/18 and 10/04/18: a) sign up with a $30 or above Talk or Data Prepaid Combo (Eligible Recharge) and b) opt in by texting “DD” to 1263. "

      • Thanks for posting that. I just activated this and was wondering where the bonus 6GB was, as it was only showing 3GB on my account.
Hmmmm.. Opt in by texting? Hope that’s worth 6GB lol, and they it doesn’t unknowingly sign you up for a whole heap of spam etc. :s

It doesn't. I've tried it already.

        • @StrayfireX:
I think I may just wait until 09/04 to redeem the extra data… if you could keep me posted if there is any issues with you opting in that would be great :P
