  • It should have a display port. Would have been better

    • Why?

      • its a 2018 model. Display port is more future proof than hdmi.

        • Slightly incorrect. Hdmi2.0 can do 4K, this monitor can only do 1080, so there’s no point or need in going a more expensive cabling and interface when you can’t even use it anyway

  • Don't Forget 3.5% cashback from Cashrewards.

Good Price, and with built-in tiny speakers… But, No VESA, No USB ports, No Display ports, Proprietary power adaptor…

    • Most don't have speakers to begin with.

Just picked up a 24" Dell in the local council cleanup, right off the street, someone just threw it out.

Brought it home before some scab took the cables. Dusted it off, plugged it in, the thing is perfect.

    • Well tested, works great
    • No stress local collection (not even out of my way)
    • Decent stable stand and cables.

Been a ling time since I beat an OzBargain deal, yay!

    Thing is, I don't need it…

    • related question - how much are the cables even worth? i see people cut them off but surely they cant be worth much? say your typical cable for a monitor would be 1.5-2m long at best

      • +1

They sell them to the re-cycling companies, who pay them a pittance per metre for encased copper cables. In doing so, they make a few cents, and the recycling company chemically dissolves the sheaths or melts it off the copper. The process is close to a complete waste of energy.

They must enjoy their time cutting off wires instead of leaving them in place for someone who might otherwise use the appliance.

        • hmm that's what i had always thought… odd. surely barely worth the petrol money

      • I not even surprised anymore when people take random things that aren't worth anything like these cables. Heard for a long time, Aussies in Japan going through their street side rubbish and then shipping it back home to Australia. Sometimes I think we have a rubbish scavenging culture.

    • That's because they not worth trying to sell old monitors. I've put many a monitor or projector out for clean up. Surprised by sometimes how long it took before everything vanished before clean up came
