  • Spend the extra and buy a Tacx Vortex smart trainer. You can get it for about $450 when pushys have the discounted sales. Much nicer trainer, feels much more authentic and integrates for Zwift, Trainer Road etc

I have 2 of these Fluid trainers with all the accessories sitting in my garage. Have not looked back since getting my smart trainer

    • +3

The Vortex is indeed a great trainer, however the Z1 Pro is still a great piece of kit. I did 6 months on one before recently upgrading to an Elite Directo for the benefits of a smart trainer.

The Z1 Pro is virtually mapped within Zwift, as long as you use a cadence and speed sensor of your own.

    • Agree, these days you would be better off keeping saving and buy a smart trainer. I use a Wahoo Kickr on zwift and whilst I appreciate that my setup is much more expensive to buy than this deal, riding around on zwift is much better than manually changing resistance levels on a basic trainer.

  • thanks guys
i actually was going to get the cycle ops jet fluid pro or fluid 2 trainer, but on the whole, and for the price all together of this package via anaconda at ebay, and given the very positive reviews of the z1 pro, and given that i just want to be able to wander into garage when kids have gone to bed and have a ride and zone out, this will totally do very nicely
its a good deal, my budget was approx $400

  • Why the trainer mat? Just lay down a large towel ?

    • Good point. Perhaps it's for slippery surfaces.

Yeah - for $53 you can get a half dozen yoga mats.

bought a ex-gym heavy duty 2nd hand spin bike for $100, much better than this trainer. i have one and the spin bike is heaps better.

    • +1

How does your ex spin bike go on zwift?

  • it would be far more helpful if people would stick to the topic here, which is SOLELY about the price for this trainer, this mat and this riser.
