  • Not the cheapest it's been, old model also

Agreed that this model was previously cheaper. However the one on sale at Good guys is the 2017 version which has had a slight update. (Ever so slight) supports newer Bluetooth formats now

They did not update the model number. I got the one from dick Smith a while back and was unable to stream to it using some newer device.

I contacted Panasonic they advised the model was re-released in 2017 with an updated Bluetooth chip and speaker “improvements” (what ever that means)

I don't know anything about sound bars but surely they wouldn't change that much in two years for entry level ones?

I've got the older model one from Dick Smith. Good soundbar for a smaller TV. My experience with the remote is terrible though, there is a defect in the battery changing mechanism for mine (jammed) which I didn't realise until after my warranty period ended, so can't change the dying battery and left to use the controls on the soundbar. The price for the new remote is only a little less than buying a whole new soundbar.

    • Couldn't you just use the headphone out from the TV, 3.5mm to RCA, and put the soundbar on 3/4 to max vol and then use the TV remote volume? Some TV's also change levels on the RCA when volume controls are used most are fixed. Also a $40 Logitech Harmony would control it and the TV better than both those remotes.

  • I might be asking for too much, but does this provide surround sound?
While gaming in front of my mates soundbar, you can hear sound coming from behind you / on the right, or wherever its supposed to be coming from in the game.

Again, i doubt that I'll get the same experience in a $100 soundbar, but want to make an informed decision.

Two channel will get you stereo sound. Emulated surround sound always sounds crap to me anyway.

  • Can I use this for my pc, does it come with a sub ?

    • I bought the cheap, no-name one from Target and couldn't recommend it enough. Not using with a PC but the HDMI ARC feature works flawlessly and it sounds fantastic. You could use the 3.5mm input for PC if ARC over HDMI doesn't work very well (I have never tried on PC, just a TV).

      • Pretty sure HDMI CEC and ARC are not supported on any PC GPUs or IGPs
