Kogan Premium Vacuum Sealer $65 Delivered @ Kogan

130

Have seen this at $129, but great value at this price. I've just received mine today. I also purchased the vacuum bag rolls

https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/3-pack-food-vacuum-sealer-rolls…

Will be great for those that bought Anova Sous Vide machines.

    Just a few more options if you're purchasing this;

If you want two of these, then you can try the $50 off $120 vouchers method

    1. Purchase a $50 off $120 Kogan voucher from eBay or the classifieds page.
    2. Create a new Kogan account to get $10 in credit.
    3. Make sure you have signed up to Shipster with the same email, so you can get free shipping. Shipping is already free, but just in case they remove this later on

Cheapest voucher I can see listed is for $9.39, so the total cost should be $79.39 delivered (130+9.39-50-10). This makes it ~$40 each.

    • Wow very thorough. Think you forgot the Cashrewards cashback option when buying from eBay… though only 1%.

  • Are these good to use on meats then freeze?

    • Yes

    • If that's the purpose, cheaper alternative might be those ziploc-type of bags. Use the water immersion technique to vacuum seal the meat, then store on the freezer.

  • very tempted especially considering I received a unique code for $20 off my next Kogan purchase over $50 an hour ago (customer win-back).

  • I have one of the kogan standard vacuum sealer and it's rubbish.

it's going in the bin and soon to be replaced

    • What was wrong with it?

      • It was OK for the first, maybe 30-40 seals (although not the best in terms of suction and vacuum).. then after a while it wouldn't vacuum the air out.. Recently, I've also noticed that the products I've sealed and put into the freezer (even double sealed some of them!) have lost the vacuum. i.e. not sealed properly.

I'm using Sunbeam foodsaver branded bags on this machine.

Maybe this "Premium" version is better.. but Im not going to risk it.. For me, I'm just going to spend the extra money and buy a decent one. Im not sure what a "decent" one is yet, but it's definitely not my kogan one..

The price of this one is actually lower than what I paid.

This is the one I have: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-food-vacuum-sealer/

        • Interesting.

I've only got my premium today, and have only sealed one red onion so far, but seems to work fine.

Kogan are pretty good with returns, might be worth hitting them up?

        • That might be more the bags

        • @asa79:

I did think that, but I tried both the bags that came with it, as well as kogan branded generic bags and the sunbeam bags.

It's not the bags.. I suspect it's the foam seal on the machine (on the top cover) that is used to form an airtight seal to create a vacuum.. That isn't sealing properly so it's not able to create a vacuum. I've tried cleaning and resetting the foam, but it hasn't helped.

And obviously something wrong with the heating element that is used to seal the plastic.. I can see on a few of my sealed products in the freezer that there's a tiny gap in the seal.. That's why over time it's leaked

        • @deeps:

Can you confirm if the units comes with included bags?

        • +1

          @Cheap Charlie:

Comes with a roll (not sure on size) and a maybe 10 individual pouches? I've used the roll but not the pouches.

  • Dammit was about to purchase and price changed.
Anyone aware of similar pricing elsewhere?

    • -1

      Price is back to $65

      • I just got massively pawned. Bought it in the time it was 130 for 100 with 3 extra rolls using vouchers and codes etc and thought I did well, till I see now it's back to 65 lollll fail
