Underwritten by Citibank if anyone is wondering. If you're chasing points - would recommend just applying on the virgin website and request the 60000K point bonus over 3 months.

      60K I reckon

      60000K

Farout, I could sell that for $600,000!!!! Brb while I sign up my whole family.

      • Get it while it's hot

Virgin's signup bonuses are awful, you'd do better and spend less money by getting one of the transferable points cards, or doing the Amex Velocity Platinum (though I think the Explorer is a better card overall).

That said, $50 AF for a $129 voucher each year is pretty good.

120k for $289 is pretty good IMO

Not when you need to spend $3k/mo to hit that. You can find cards that trigger their bonus on that level of spend or a little more over 3 months. Way too much planning for too little payout.

    I HATE CITIBANK

WARNING- I churn and burn around 8 cards every year. Never had a problem until this one. See this.

** Also - Don't get it thinking you will rack up 0.66 points per dollar for bills etc. You will most likely end up with 0 points due to their excessive exclusions in their T&Cs.

    • Thanks for the heads up - looking for a decent Visa/MC velocity earning card and was going to just get the Virgin offerings but will look away now!

Document upload tool doesn't work, abandoning my application.

    • If you have gone that far, a credit check is likely already registered.

  • Getting this purely for the credit transfer so I can close my ANZ black. Not bad card for life and get the virgin credits

  • $129 worth of voucher/year effectively offsets the $50 annual fee
just nice for those who spend around $1500 per month and travel with virgin australia once a year

Rewards program. Separate from any bonus points offer, you will earn 0.66 Velocity Points per $1 spent on retail purchases up to $1,500 (990 points) per statement period. After the $1,500 spend, you'll earn 0.5 Velocity Points per $1 spent thereafter.

May not be good for Big spenders

    • Derp thought it was 50 for life of the card lol

      • It clearly mentions annual fee. I don't understand what u mean

        • I agree, but I saw the same thing. Maybe rose coloured glasses from wishful thinking.

Don't sign up for this. They are useless, its all managed by Citibank from the Phillipines. They are impossible to deal with.
My account had fraudulent charges I disputed in December 2017. I made dozens of calls to them and it's now in the hands of the FSO but Citibank still won't cooperate. It's total incompetence. This is not a deal it's a scam

I'm in the same Financial Ombudsman boat. Not very 'Richard Branson' this Virgin shocker.

I got a call from their call centre after applying for a card and uploading supporting docs. Operator asked a bunch of dodgy questions and it all sounded like a phishing scam. Card was not issued in the end.

Not sure if this is because of virgin or citibank but I avoid both companies now.

To be honest. All Virgin Card has 44 days interest free and my extremely bad experience with their home loan (took 10 months to churn home loan - World Record. Does Guinness record that?), I don't understand why on earth people want to give them business.

I have this card since last 2 years. One more flip side there is $29 per year for supplementary card.

  • I"m a cureent holder of this card (have been for 5 years, no issues) . can I cancel and resign up for the new lower rate? or is there a mandatory waiting period?

  • Put VISA Credit in the title otherwise easily confused with Velocity FF card.
