Saw this via email:

"Limited-time offer: Buy Velocity Points and get 15% off your purchase. Hurry, this special discount ends April 30, 2018. Discount will be applied at checkout."

Note that you can only buy up to half the current points that you have. I.e. if your points balance is 80k, you can only buy up to 40k.

Steps:

  1. Click on link
  2. Select which category you would use your points and click "Buy Velocity Points"
  3. Log in to Velocity Account
  4. Select number of points to purchase and payment method
  5. Great success!

Brief extract from Points Table:

Points Regular Cost Cost with 15% Discount Discounted Cost Per Point
1,000 $36 $30.60 $0.031
10,000 $325 $276.25 $0.028
25,000 $677 $575.45 $0.023
50,000 $1172 $996.20 $0.020

Slightly be on the pricey side, but could be useful for those who need a few more points to redeem flights/have maxed out credit card deals.

See how far your points will take you here:

I am unsure how long it takes for points to be credited to your account. Perhaps as soon as your payment has cleared.

Enjoy!

Or you can go here and get more and spend less…

And get a flight out of it.

    • Far enough, assuming you get approved. I did mention above that this is if you’ve maxed out credit card deals already.

Once the cost is above 0.025c you are better of buying through Amex.

  • A flight to Los Angeles from Brisbane costs $1100 or 92000 points plus tax.

  • These days as a ROT FF points are worth around $1000 per 100,0000 so this is really very POOR value .. :-( .. !! And yes, I know there are ways to jump through hoops to change that value relationship.
