  • Can any OzB'er comment about whether Bunnings stores will price match other stores both inter and intra state?

    • whether Bunnings stores will price match other stores

      nope.

unless it's an advertised price at a nearby competitor

      • Thanks jv, but no thanks to Bunnings price match policy however

sometimes they even call to check if there is stock.

once I remember Bunnings refusing a price on a Weber because the colour the customer wanted wasn't available at the store with the discount.

        • @jv: That’s a good point, very picky. I think if memory serves me Hardly Normal (Harvey Norman) are very similar in that regard.

        • @jv:

Yea that's expected, even if it's unfavourable/unpopular to consumers. Similar to Officework's price beat policy, it's clear the item has to same/identical.

      • .. and for a lot/most products they have unique models or brands of stuff, so you can't actually find the EXACT item at a competitor.

Dodgy as hell, but all the big sellers do it.

  • They did it with the hedge trimmer a few weeks ago.

    • which model?

      Ozito 125mm or Ozito 100mm ?

The link shows it to be a 125mm 1200 watt.

125mm is much more useful and cheaper in the long run as you don't use maybe the inner third of these small disks so with a 100mm you're chucking away a large part of each disk. I have an Ozito one and the switch is pretty crude - it was a slide switch on the side. Ah, I see in the picture this has a trigger switch. Should be ok however I don't see a lock on button which makes this a two handed job. Not very handy for a small grinder.

I can highly recommend the Bosch blue 125mm as it has a much thinner body which is easier to hold and use single handed. I think it's 700 watt which is plenty for an angle grinder that size. Decent quality too. I think I got one for $89.

        • Yes I have 115mm and it is still a touch small. Aldi had a 125MM that looked very good value - nice and solid. However by the time I decided to get one they sold out.
