  • How would this go hooked up to a console?

      It wont go anywhere

For casual gaming it would go fine - anything serious and you'd be looking for a PC anyway for the higher FPS/Hz output.

Some rave about this TV (for the price). Others say steer clear it's garbage.

I have a 55 inch Full HD Sony that's about 6 or so years old. I think it's the KDL-55EX500, but I don't have it or documentation in front of me. Picture is brilliant. Speakers are more than adequate for movies and games. Colours are great. No dead pixels last I checked and none I've noticed. I'm very reluctant to give it up. My wife and kids would not be pleased if I replaced it with something not as good.

If you have no complaints why are you looking to replace?

4k? HDR? I'd have to wear glasses to enjoy that but my wife and one of my kids have pretty damn good eyesight.

    • Sony just recently had a sale so it could be a while until the next one.

      • IF I'm going to buy I'd be patient. I love a bargain though and wonder if I'm missing out with some many posts about this TV. Then again for all I know I'll get 10 more years out of my current TV with very little practical difference, so perhaps the best bargain is to just wait for my current one to die.

On the flip side, if you haven't noticed, newer isn't always better. Perhaps we're seeing the pinnacle and I'm going to kick myself.

          I want it all :P

We must all be miserable on OzB.

        • The pinnacle at the moment is OLED not Hisense N7.

It was cheaper by $60 in last weeks sale

Just got this for $1296 at JB today. They offered a price match for the good guys $200 store credit deal but gave $200 discount instead of the $200 voucher.
